Could not have nicer things to say about working with My Chef and Jamie Walsh for our wedding day…read morecatering. We met Jamie at our venue's vendor expo and were immediately impressed by their services, pricing, and vast food offerings. It was a no brainer to book with their group! We had our tasting a couple months before our wedding day; which is complimentary to the couple and a $50 charge for any additional guest to join. They have you select 8-10 appetizers, 2 salads, and 4 entrees to taste at their Naperville location. They also have displays of china, silverware, glasses and more to help couples select what aligns aesthetically for their special day. Jamie worked with us to make small modifications to their standard offerings to make the food exactly what we wanted! Our wedding day came and we were floored by the quality/presentation of food, level of detail in place settings, and service from all staff members. We had multiple guests say that this was some of the best wedding food they've had, steaks were not over cooked, and food tasted fresh. Jamie also let us add desserts a week out to reallocate money from a couple of guests who last minute were unable to attend. Their team was even nice enough to service items not purchased through their group: disposables for the late night snack, display and refilling of cupcakes, etc. Overall, their group went above and beyond for us under Jamie's leadership. Our tables looked great, our food was wonderful, and their team was fabulous. We truly appreciate all they've done for us and could not recommend them more! Appetizers Selected: Mac & Cheese Bites, Bacon Wrapped Dates w Honey Citrus Sauce, Cocktail Meatballs, Bruschetta Bar Salad Selected: Mixed Field Greens w Pears, Goat Cheese, Pear Infused Vinaigrette. *Alts: Candied Walnuts & Second Balsamic Dressing to offer Dinner Selections: 1. Filet w Red Wine Demi Sauce, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, & Asparagus 2. Garlic & Herb Cheese Stuffed Chicken, Vodka Sauce w Bowtie Noodles, & Grilled Veggies 3. Butternut Squash Ravioli w Sage Brown Butter Sauce, Grilled Veggies *Kid's Meals & Vegan Meal offered otherwise at no upcharge Dessert Selections: 1. Mini Cookie Tray- Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Sugar, M&M, Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter 2. Assorted Chocolate Truffles- Oreo, Buckeye, Aztec

Disappointing experience despite a fresh and new business relationship. We have used this catering…read morecompany for multiple corporate events and have spent considerable money with them. Historically, the food and service have been very good, which makes our experience with our most recent BBQ event particularly disappointing. The weather was questionable the morning of the event, so we understood the decision to precook the burgers and brats. However, the weather ultimately cooperated, and the event proceeded as planned. We specifically requested that we use at least one large gas grill we provided, even if only to keep the grill/char lines going, but that did not happen. The catering team arrived on time, but the setup was not completed as expected. Two chefs who had originally been scheduled to be onsite to cook the food ultimately spent much of the event standing around with very little involvement. More importantly, the food was served lukewarm to cold even though it arrived in hotboxes, and some food was undercooked/raw. The sternos were not lit until well after the food had been set up and less than 10 minutes before mealtime, which did little to address the temperature problem. For the price we paid, the quality of service and temperature of the food were simply not acceptable. I immediately raised my concerns with the event planner after the event. When I didn't receive a follow-up, I emailed to express our disappointment. To the event planner's credit, she responded and said the owner wanted to address the matter personally and would contact me after returning from out of town. That was over a month ago, and we have still received no communication. A coworker who also helps coordinate our company events separately contacted her point of contact at the company, but also received no response. What is most disappointing is not simply that one event did not meet expectations. We have been a significant repeat customer, and we expected our concerns to be acknowledged and addressed professionally. Instead, we received no follow-up at all. We have had good experiences with this caterer in the past, which is why this situation has been frustrating. Unfortunately, the combination of cold food, a lack of attention during the event, and zero follow-up afterward has made us decide to seek catering elsewhere for our corporate events.

I'd heard from a few members of my mother's club about Taste of Home. I haven't lived in the area for quite some time, so all I could do was trust their experience; and I was so glad I did. I explained the need to put our socially-distancing guests at ease with a range of outdoor, afternoon finger food that was individually-wrapped. Donna recommended an array of appetizer sandwiches and cookies that turned out to be real crowd pleasers! Eliminating the use for any utensils was certainly the way to go, and as if to underline that point, trays of non-wrapped cookies and cakes that people brought were hardly touched. My family is so pleased with the outcome, my area siblings are all looking into using Taste of Home for family dinners. We believe in keeping our purchasing as local as possible during this economic uncertainty, and Taste of Home has provided another great Hinsdale option for when cooking is better off done by someone else. Their menu offers great variety for any sort of audience or occasion, so before you order a pizza for the umpteenth time, give Donna and her team a go! Thanks ever, Donna! On a day when I had zero bandwidth for orchestrating a light meal for 40 people, you came through brilliantly! (Insert hearts and stars here!)

Also they were really great with offering everything gluten free for my friend. There was no tower of food and we got our separate plate of the sandwiches, pastries, and desserts. Of course they were with your choice of tea. They do offer ideas of tea to have with that days servings, but we wanted to try different flavors, We choose lavender flower, strawberry sunshine, and cinnamon pear. All were very delicious and leave very full. The menu does change with the month/season. So will be a different theme to experience. The place is a cute cottage setting with lots of decor on the walls and windows. There is street parking and a small parking lot across the street. My birthday gift card finally was put to fantastic use, and the entire experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. The atmosphere is undeniably adorable, setting a cozy and welcoming tone the moment you walk through the door. Weekend reservations are a must here, with seatings available at 11:00am and 2:00pm. We booked the 11:00am slot for three of us on a Sunday, and parking was a breeze with a lot conveniently located right across the street. You prepay when making the reservation, which conveniently includes a 20% gratuity upfront. They feature a seasonal, prix fixe three-course menu that comes with one tea of your choice. To make the most of it, the three of us each selected a different tea so we could sample and share. As someone navigating celiac disease, finding a safe and accommodating spot is always a relief. They cater to gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets for an additional charge. What really stood out was that the gluten-free options mirrored the regular menu. Every single course was utterly delicious, proving that dietary accommodations don't have to sacrifice flavor. Whether you're marking a special occasion or just craving a lovely afternoon out, this spot is a gem. Highly recommended!

Nikki and Sergio were so thorough and took care of every detail for my special day. I am not one of those people who had every moment of my wedding planned out years ago and probably was incredibly frustrating to deal with when so many of my answers were "well, what do you think would look best?" I'm so glad I defaulted to their professional expertise. The hall looked beautiful, the tables were so eloquent, it was a picture-perfect night. Obviously, we hit a few bumps along the way! From difficulties with bridesmaids dresses to a limo tire that blew out on the expressway while transporting me and my bridesmaids before the ceremony, Nikki and Sergio took care of unforeseen problems with a calmness that was so incredibly reassuring on our wedding day. I am forever THANKFUL. Their experience, organization, and just willingness to commit to making this day so special. From the start, we loved their food and knew immediately they were it. We even did an additional tasting to look at other options on their menu. Wedding day ... everything that could have happened to us ... happened (never returning to our venue ever). Luckily none of the guests found out because they were all distracted about the food. During contrail hour, the staff was nonstop bringing appetizers because people were taking thirds, fourths, etc. & I'm still hearing about it! Then dinner was exquisite. The portion of the food is very notable... GENEROUS and FILLING. Even my pickiest family members were asking for more. We had a lot of DIYs and they accommodated all of them. Even the ones I brought last minute. And the staff -- every single person -- was so kind, friendly, and just lovely to be around. The bartenders were absolute champs. They even went above and beyond to make us happy while our venue was being EXTRAORDINARILY difficult. Stephanie even came to help us de stress us & the bartenders were just phenomenal - trust me, our 170 guests do not mess around with an open bar. In conclusion, our venue.. never again. Marie's catering would choose all over again! Thank you again!! I don't have photos of our food at the moment, but wanted to share photos because it ended up being such a beautiful day

New Year's resolutions... you can mark me down for at least one overly-exaggerated eye-roll when it…read morecomes to those things. You want to improve yourself? GREAT! Good for you. You want to give a social media play-by-play of every 10 minutes of your life while doing your juice cleanse? ANNOYING. And It's not like you're curing cancer... yet somehow, acting like your pilgrimage through 3-days without solid food is on par with some of history's greatest tales of suffering usually becomes a symptom. Ugh. Plus, why would I make a resolution like that when I know that such a thing as Foodielicious' salted caramel drizzling sauce exists? The thought of denying myself the cute-as-hell mini mason jar of said Foodielicious salted caramel drizzling sauce seems downright torturous and un-American, and I simply can't and won't get drawn into the the sort of culture that frowns upon it. ... because b*tches gots to eat. amiright? So, this past week was my first time trying (devouring an entire jar of) this delicious salted caramel sauce, but it's certainly not my first rodeo with Foodielicious. I've run into this food service/catering group at a number of summer outdoor festivals and while the line to grab goods from Foodielicious is usually a long one, it's always well worth the wait. From the cupcakes to the frosting shots, to the granola, sandwiches and more, it's no wonder people seek out events these folks are catering... and by 'people' I might just mean me... although I don't feel that I'm alone in this Foodielicious following. You see, Foodielicious has done a number of Charity events that I've attended and while I don't want to sound like a total jerk, I have to be honest and say that I'm a whole lot more likely to show up and support an event that's working to help aid hurricane relief when there's red velvet cupcakes involved. That's just a fact. It's like, human nature or some junk. Because of Foodielicious' delicious presence at many of these charity and good-cause-benefiting events, I've basically become a part time philanthropist //slash// part time cookie wolf-er down-er. Basically, they've made me a better (albeit maybe slightly plumper) person through their do-gooding. So anyway, I'm still not making any official resolutions this year, but I am taking a personal vow to scarf more salted caramel than human should and maybe also show up and support some more good-willed events, granted Foodielicious is there as well. Sort of like a food truck, I recommend liking them on FB for a more up-to-date display of when and where they'll be. https://www.facebook.com/foodieliciouscatering

And I feel incredibly sorry for them, because to have never put one of Angela's treats in your face hole is almost as if you haven't truly lived. They're good at all hours of the day and I like to tell myself it's OK to consider them breakfast because there's bacon! Maple Bacon is bomb and all, but Foodielicious Catering is no one trick pony. The Red Velvet, the Pumpkin, PB&J, and Cookies n Cream are all on point, and they still don't account for all the flavor creations she executes flawlessly. I'm often able to find some sort of fault with cake - too dry, too sweet, too sticky, too dense, too much frosting, bland, stale - because it's a fine art that not everyone gets right. This has never happened with a cupcake from Foodielicious. In fact, my immediate thoughts upon taking a bite are, whether I've never tried that variety or have had it dozens of times, 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4 quickly followed by 2) Shit! I don't think I bought enough cupcakes. So, if baked goods are an art and Angela is the artist, these moist masterpieces are the goddamn Sistine Chapel of sweets. People keep asking me how far along I am in wedding planning; unfortunately, not very far at all. However, I've known from the beginning (even before he put a ring on it) that whether or not the celebration ends up being 2, 20 or 200 people, Foodielicious Catering is getting contracted for the construction of a cupcake tower. The deliciousness doesn't stop with sugar. Foodielicious is a catering business that has no problem making your wildest dreams come true. I've had the pleasure of trying many of the soups, salads, pastas, side dishes, dips and entrées that Angela lovingly makes from scratch. My fiancé is madly in love with the crepadillas, so I'm sure we'll continue working with her to get food for many other upcoming parties (engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette night and birthdays). You need this in your life! You need this in your mouth! You and your food are in fabulous hands!
