Murgh Tikka Lahori (breast)- this was a surprisingly large amount of food for the price. Didn't have much complaint on this and would get again. Although I might go for the boneless option next time Chicken Kofta- the gravy was incredibly oily (I had to use a paper towel to soak up the thick layer on top. The kofta itself was soft, but didn't have super strong flavor. Chicken Jalfrezi- the flavor for this was decent, but once again super oily. I also had to use a paper towel to soak up the oil. I had gotten this as it sounded healthier- just stir fried chicken, veggies, tomato sauce, and spices- but the oil really over powered here. Shalimar Chawal- basic rice with some spices/flavor. For the price it was good. I'd be open to trying again in the future, but really hoping it's not as oily next time.

The Curry is a thick dark curry. It was so good, dare I say amazing, the rice was long grain Indian rice. The next day I had to go back prior to heading to the airport. We had Chicken Curry again and The Prawn Korma. Both were once again amazing, The Shrimp were nice size. It's a one man show, he takes the orders and then cooks the food. He's adamant that it's a no tip establishment and that he busses the tables as well. The prices are very reasonable. I strongly recommend this place for great and filling Indian food. As someone noted the owner is kind of a character, but I can kind of appreciate that. I'm very happy to support his business. I'll back back!

Please do not drive here. I can't imagine parking here. Walk or bike or bus or it's walkable from BART and Muni Metro's Powell station (or maybe Civic Center, it's kind-of in the middle I think.) This is my hands down favorite Indian/Pakistani place for takeout - the food always tastes fresh, staff makes it quickly, and it arrives hot. Everything tastes as you would expect (rice, Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan, etc.) - the real stand outs are the Chicken Biriani (the vegetable one is never what I hope it will be) and the Daal - the lentils. Their Daal is rich, spicy (in the best way) and the sliced jalapeños really make it. Pro tip: You get enough for at least 3 meals - so get it for dinner and enjoy it for a couple lunches!

My picky toddler even ate the lamb and rice! It was that good. My husband lamb wrap was a treat too. They had this sort of sweat relish, it went so well with the lamb. The lady who was at the front was SUPER nice, super accommodating. We had a crazy toddler. She brought over water and eventually came over and dropped our food off. We sat in the back patio.
