I wanted to come here because of the Bobby Flay connection and because a friend was told that they have really good Chole Bhatture. The servers were very nice and friendly. Their British accent only made them nicer :) Each entree comes with two sides (could be a naan, rice, raita, etc). I got the pindi channa masala (which is the chole) and the Bhatture. My friend got the coconut chicken curry and garlic naan. The pindi channa masala was DELICIOUS! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, it reminded me of home. The Bhatture were just ok. I wanted the crunch with the softness on the inside but I think they were a little more crunchy than I usually like them. They weren't super oily which is a big thing for me. The coconut chicken curry would probably have been good, but I think its allure faded in comparison to the pindi channa masala. The garlic naan was good. The raita was also very very good! I would say the food rating is probably around 3.5 but I'm giving 4 stars for how nice everyone was. This is definitely my go-to place for pindi channa masala now! Parking can be tricky. Park in the first street spot you see!

We went here one night while on vacation in Oceanside . We were really impressed with the service & the food . We shared Chicken Tikka Masala - medium spice . This was so flavorful & good ! Just the right amount of spice . It was plenty to share with an extra order of basmati rice . We got the garlic Naan . This was really good too . Good fast service . If you are in the area this is great Indian food

Kicked Bobby Flay's ass and it shows! This place was amazing from start to finish. The staff was amazing and friendly! The owner was very humble and personable for someone that kicked Bobby Flay's ass! The food was incredible! We had the tiki masala and the chicken vindaloo. Go a little higher on the spice level, it's worth it. The garlic nan was an excellent step up for the meal. The only negative is you need to be very savvy or an engineer to close, let alone open, the to-go containers. We will be back!!!! Thank you!

There's Indian food, there's good Indian food, and then there's Curry & More. Best of San Diego? Best of California! In its newest location, Curry & More holds down a prime spot in downtown Oceanside and is a must visit. Chef Obi is a second generation restauranteur and this spot holds up with fine dining in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, and other international food hot spots. We'll be back!

If their managing chef can beat the legendary Bobby Flay you know your in for a treat. For a party of two we ordered the Lamb Korma, Shrimp Vindaloo, Large Rice, Garlic & Basil Naan bread and two large Indian Beers. Yum. Great service, super clean. Highly recommend.

Visited for the first time today. I didn't even know this place was here! The restaurant is nice and clean inside and the waiters are very friendly and hospitable. The food portions are very generous. The food is super tasty too. The naan bread is everything; super fluffy and warm a bit crunchy but just the right amount. Definitely will be back here.

Curry Mainstay Comes to Downtown Oceanside: But Does it Live Up to Expectations? Came on opening day for dinner service on an overcast Monday. Not much fanfare, but boy, were there quite a few fans showing up for dinner. Apparently, this chain started in San Diego and now has a few restaurants in the county. As a newcomer, I played it safe and went with the following: Chicken Tikka Masala. You can choose spice from 1 to 10. I chose 3, which was barely noticeable on the spice scale. A pleasant surprise from the typical tikka masala I'm used to. Every other version I've had has been particularly creamy and downright oily. Honestly, not a bad thing. Whole Foods does a pretty decent but tame version I and the fam approve of as a baseline. Here, they riff it with noticeably less of that oily texture and flavor, which would otherwise be somewhat overdone and easily filling. Instead, you get something much lighter, not so heavy, and easier on the palate. You get sustained spoonfuls for the long haul, allowing you to endure to the end without feeling stuffed when you finish the bowl. Because of this, the tomato really pops in color and on the tongue; and what you get is a refreshing take that is still strangely satisfying. Recommend: but not on its own! Naan. No curry is complete without this (or basmati rice). Freshly made pillowy, bubbly goodness makes this the best naan I've ever eaten. Without this pairing with the naan (I recommend the double order since you can never have enough good naan, period, and it's annoying when you run out in the middle of a curry binge), the curry falls flat. But with one of its natural partners, the two dance together quite nicely. I literally ate it all. And regret nothing. Total recommend -- especially with the tikka masala. Overall, a good experience as a first timer and worthy of another visit. Maybe try the tandoori chicken next time. Place was clean. Not too elaborate on the decor. But the food delivered. And the neighborhood has gained nice addition to the local food scene in Oceanside, which is becoming more and more of a food mecca these days. Who knew?

Service is great. Dining area is clean, a little small, but functional. The food is prepared to the proper textures of the proteins. The naan is great, I really enjoyed the goat cheese kulcha naan. The veggie korma disappointed; the veggies seemed to be the standard frozen green bean, carrot, and corn blend you can get at a grocery store, they lacked good texture and flavor. I was hoping the veggies would be more seasonal and fresh, if they were fresh they did not receive good handling. I also had the Bhuna Gosht which was ok. There's a lot of places on the list before I make it back here.

Always an enjoyable dining experience... the food is the best and the service here is 10 out of 10! The atmosphere is top notch too with smooth jazz or similar playing in the background. One of Oceanside's best places!

This is the worst Indian food restaurant that myself, and my family have ever eaten and all of San Diego County. The food was horrible.. If I could give below a 0 over five, I would have. I am north Indian so I know what I'm talking about . We ordered two chicken biryani's, and they tasted like we had bought them from McDonald's.. It was dry old rice and tasted disgusting and did not even have all the components biryani should have.. we ordered garlic naan, which was chewy and had this cheap butter oil with probably salted garlic instead of garlic on the naan. The yogurt, chutney tasted old and disgusting.. We ordered saag paneer, also known as puréed spinach with Indian cheese that was more brown in color than green and tasted more like cream with very little spinach. It's funny because the host had said that they had been quite dead and empty in that restaurant for the last 3 weeks and I should've taken a hint, but I was in a hurry to take out food and I don't live close by.. This restaurant needs to be inspected by the county for its food quality or I should say lack of..

Plain naan, chicken dalwala, lentils, potatoes, a bhuna gosht.

Outstanding food and customer service. Obi is so personable and attentive. I went with a group of 9 and was leery as I don't care for spicy food. It was spiced perfect for me (as a 1) and the rice pudding dessert was to die for. We will be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent prices and amount of food you get is amazing! Walked around downtown to find a place to eat and found this. Food was really good and service was very attentive. I ordered a mild chicken tikka masala, the portions were really big, I had about half leftover. They came to our table multiple times throughout to make sure we had water, we didn't even have to ask. Is this not a Michelin star restaurant? Maybe not every item is as good as the Chana masala?? The Chana masala is absolutely surpassing all expectations many times over. The flavour is so rich and so multileveled. The only thing I would do differently is add a contrasting flavour like ordering some pickles or something. I want to take everyone I know to get this Chana masala. I'm no expert on Indian food, but I have eaten food from around the world and this is one of the best dishes I've ever had. read more

Hmm, our meal felt like a watered down version of Indian food. The curries (chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer) were quite watery literally. They also give you an option of spice which I think they are afraid to use. I asked for a level 7 and didn't get any kick- tasted mild. Garlic Naan was pretty good. Location is convenient and staff are friendly but it didn't quite hit the spot for the craving I had for Indian food. read more

My boyfriend and I checked this place out for dinner and it definitely did not disappoint! We got their Chicken Tikka Masala, Bhuna Gosht, Naan bread & Bikaneri Samosas. Their chicken tikka masala paired up with garlic naan was easily my favorite. Their dishes had so much flavor and they were perfectly balanced. And as if the food wasn't already great, their service made a great cherry on top of everything! Chef Obi was so friendly and helpful in suggesting what we should get for dinner and dessert. Unfortunately, we didn't have space for dessert anymore but we were so pleased with their food and service that night, that we decided to go back the next day and get their rice pudding dessert with pistachios. And it was surely worth the drive back! I guess it's safe to say that we're coming back here for more :) read more

This is further to the reply of my poor review from Obi at this Restaurant. He claims that the Customers should know that this dish (Paneer Kali Mirch) is Cream based. How would the Customer's know because the Menu just says" Farmer's Cheese cooked with Whole spices and finished with peppercorns" (please see the picture of the menu). Do you expect Customer's to call you to clarify about each dish before ordering? They would normally read the description of the dish in the Menu when ordering. Moreover, I had specified " Do not add Cream" and the dish was full of Cream. This is a serous matter relating to Food safety due to Allergy/dietary restrictions. I do not recommend this Restaurant. Moreover, they should be reported to the Department of Health (Food Safety) and Better Business Bureau for not being transparent about their Menu and all the major ingredients. Besides, it is this Restaurant's responsibility to "read and follow" the Special requests/Notes as relating to the Allergies/Dietary needs of their Customers. They need to check the Food Quality/Food Safety before the Food is delivered or picked up. I do not think they do so. Also, in my Last order about a month ago of Saag Paneer (an dinner Entree of Farmer's Cottage Cheese with Spinach) they forgot to add the Farmer's Cottage Cheese (main item) and just sent a puree of Spinach full of Cream (even though the request said " Do not add cream"). Once again, I had to throw the food out. When I called the Restaurant and Spoke to them they said they will replace it in the next order which they did but it seems no one checks the food from the Kitchen before it is sent out for delivery or is picked up by a Customer. I have been a regular Customer at both their Locations in San Marcos and Oceanside for many Years but after these incidents I will not be ordering from them anymore. I will also be speaking to the Local Health authorities, BBB and the Oceanside/Carlsbad Newspapers to inform them of " lack of health and food safety standards at the Oceanside location". They do not care for the needs of their customers and do not understand that " Hospitality means going the extra mile to satisfy your Customers" no matter what it takes! read more

I had the lamb, some of the pieces were tough, most were ok. The waiter encouraged me to get the '5' in spices, that was not enough, it was very weak and the sauce was very runny. Service was normal, not wonderful but not bad either. The ambiance in the restaurant sucked! Sterile walls, floors like eating in a fast food place. They need Indian decoration - what was the owner thinking, no decoration or ambiance in an Indian restaurant. To the owner who answered my review - I have eaten at your San Marcos restaurant several times and loved the food - Oceanside was not at that level which is why I gave it a hum-oh review. read more

Yum!! Seriously, YUM!! There were 4 of us. We were greeted upon entry & quickly chose a nice booth where you could see the kitchen staff. We started with the Spinach Potato and Onion Pakoras, which are fritters that were very nicely fried (not at all greasy) w/2 dipping sauces. One order was plenty to share. We had the coconut chicken curry, a chicken tikka masala & a chicken vindaloo. 3 got side salads which were quite sizable & easily sharable (each main dish gets 2 sides) as well as basmati rice. 1 person got the cucumber yogurt and the potato side. He loved both. We also got a couple of garlic naan. You get to choose your spice levels & we chose 4, 6 & one chose 7. We each liked the level of spice we chose. EVERYTHING was flavorful and sooo good. With the exception of one person, everyone had leftovers to take home. The chef came out to chat for a few minutes - asked if we had room for dessert (no room!), although I hear the spiced rice pudding is excellent (maybe next time). Restaurant is very clean and has a nice ambience (except the ceiling fan blades make the lights a little weird). Definitely will be back to eat again. read more

We went to dinner for my birthday and wow did Curry & More deliver! The service was terrific and super fast - my kids were there so that's always important. The vegetable pakoras were so delicious - my kids kept asking for more 'chicken nuggets'. Oddly they turn their noses up at all types of fake meat store bought nuggets. The chicken tikka masala was perfectly cooked - we asked for no spice for the kids and it delivered. My husband and I enjoyed the lamb korma, which again was perectly cooked - we asked for a 5-6 spice and it was a delightful amount of spice. We often Door Dash Curry & More which is always great, but getting it fresh in the restaurant was such a treat, we'll defintely eat in more often. read more

There's street parking readily available, and you're still a close walk to the beach. Service was very attentive and the food came out really quickly. I've been waiting all year for this place to open, and it about time Oceanside hosts an Indian restaurant. I enjoyed the one in San Marcos (not sure if they're associated) so was excited to see the sign go up in downtown Oceanside. I've been here twice already and have enjoyed each time. The staff are all very professional and kind. I've had the samosa, garlic naan, Malai Kofta, and the paneer Makhni--with the latter being my favorite. Ambience: 4/5 We decided to give this place a try for lunch…read moreon a Sunday afternoon. When we walked in, there two other groups of two people but no workers. We decided to just sit and as we did a worker came out of the kitchen and we just nodded at each other as we sat down. That pretty much sums up the service we had - very no nonsense and no conversation. This doesn't bother us much, but if you are the kind of person that likes to be attended to then you might have felt a little weird about it. They also weren't playing music for the first 10-15 minutes, so it was a little awkwardly quiet. Once the music started back up, I felt like the atmosphere got a little better. Food 5/5 I had checked out their menu online and was really excited to see they had Pani Puri! I have always wanted to try it, but it isn't very common in Indian restaurants. We really enjoyed it but I personally would have liked an option to up the spice or maybe have some chilis on the side. Veg Samosas were perfect - no notes! So yummy with the green chutney Tikka Masala with Chicken - really can't go wrong with this dish but man this one had us scraping the plate! So good and the rice comes included which is not always included so that was nice. Garlic naan and was also good! Perfect with the Tikka Masala Mango Lassi was good - not the best I've ever had but it was still refreshing in this hot afternoon. All in all we were really happy with our meal and we were already talking about the things we would order if we came back.

They bring bread, naan, whatever is being served that day to the table nice and hot. A small bottle of water was provided. The day I went they had vegetables, white rice, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, curry chicken, and a pork dish. Salad comes with a yogurt dressing which I do not like. At the time they did not have a variety of salad dressing. The dahl was delicious. My daughter is a picky eater and said it was just okay. I thought for the price they had a very nice selection. Three of us were hungry and the aroma coming from the kitchen made us twice as hungry. We ordered 2 vegetable dishes, Palak Paneer and Aloo Matar. The Palak Paneer which is spinach with cheese was delightful. It is our favorite vegetable dish and tied our entrees together. It's comforting and savory. The Aloo Matar fresh peas and potatoes were as delicious but hard to compare with the Paneer. I did like the peas a lot. For our entrees we had the Chicken Kadai, Lamb Tarkari and Chicken Tandoori. All came with basmati rice. The chicken kadai had a nice spicy kick. The lamb was tender and lots of cinnamon notes. The tandoori was crispy, tender and juicy. The Garlic cilantro naan was tasty, soft and buttery and great with soaking in all the curry sauce. All the flavors hit the right spot and were all delicious! We had a tiny leftover left of the rice, naan and Aloo Matar. Otherwise we devoured our entire meal. It was that yummy!!! We love this place. The mall location means parking is a breeze, the seating is plentiful, the hygiene is immaculate, and the owner and staff are genuinely wonderful people to talk to. Everything is flawless until you ask for extra napkins, at which point the hospitality ends and the Great Napkin Depression begins. The atmosphere instantly shifts, and you are treated less like a dining guest and more like a fraudulent loan applicant. Even the sketchiest hole-in-the-wall joints leave a full box of napkins on the table and the fast-food drive-thrus throw handfuls of paper at you, but here? You are handed exactly one single, microscopic, budget-grade square per person that feels mathematically engineered to dissolve on contact. It's a tease, not a tool. I got the shrimp vindalu, which had great flavor. Each bite was a flavor explosion to my tastebuds. The shrimps were very tender, and the potatoes soaked up the sauce so well. Paired with the garlic naan, the meal was simply divine. Not only was the food amazing, the man behind the counter with the curly mustache was incredibly nice. He gave us recommendations, described some of the food, and even chatted with us a bit since the store wasn't too full. Since we were all so happy with our experience, we decided to go back the next day for lunch! This time I ordered the chicken lunch combo, which came with rice and naan, and I chose to get butter chicken and chicken curry. The lunch meals are premade and served from warming tubs, as opposed to the made to order dinner meals. It was still very delicious however! The butter chicken had a rich, pungent flavor, and the meat had a deep red color, I'm assuming from hours of marinating. The chicken curry was great as well, but not quite as good as the butter chicken. I also got a mango lassi, which I had heard all about but had never tried. It was super creamy and sweet, and was perfect to wash down the spicy curry.
