This place is tucked away in a strip mall and while unassuming, has great seating and even more incredible food. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and my friend got the Butter Chicken, both with basmati rice. We also split the garlic cilantro naan and the cheese and garlic naan (it's naan STUFFED with mozzarella cheese -- am I dreaming?!) Mango lassi is something I need in my life everyday! So refreshing and light to have with our meal. Momos were bite sized nuggets of joy and I really enjoyed the lamb skewers. Garlic cheese naan too were soft and buttery out of the oven. Lots is seating inside and service comes out quick. At work, we do a DEI buffet lunch. They had a hard time finding a restaurant owned by a Native American to celebrate Native American Awareness month. So the company decided to fall back on the holiday we celebrated last November which was Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. The dates of the festival vary each year, and this year it was back on October 20th. But we celebrated in November by getting lunch catered from Himalayan Bistro in Oceanside. Our daughter's Birthday dinner was at the often visited Himalayan Bistro in Oceanside. We always have a nice meal here, with a large menu to choose from. My family seems to stick to their favorites, but I tried the Momo in a wonderful sauce. Lamb and spices in a "pouch", in sauce. I loved them. Other family favorites include Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Marsala, and Shrimp Korma. I love their Garlic Naan, my family prefers the Basmati rice with their entrees. Service is great, and the servers know the menu well for suggestions. The restaurant is small, decorated with Himalayan photos and decorations. We love going there. They have another restaurant in Murrieta now. Both restaurants are family operated. We will be visiting both often. read more

Food was amazing! I forgot to take pictures because the food smelled so good as soon as it reached our table. We shared three dishes between the four of us. Baigan Bharta (eggplant), chicken Tikka masala ( more tomato flavor) and the butter chicken. We also ordered the garlic and cheese naan and the special naan that was sweet and nutty. I love this little hole in the wall hidden gem. They always come out with the best and it's always on and busy so you know it's a good place. I come here for the lunch special which is $17 for a small salad TWO choices of entrees, naan and a small dessert. My go to our tikka masala and chana masala 4 star spicy which was just spicy enough to make my nose water a little. The flavor was there the rice was good and fresh, and the naan was freshly baked and piping hot. I absolutely love the flavors that come out of this kitchen. Any review on here that says it is flavorless smokes crack, lost their taste buds during covid, or needs to get higher than a level one. I knocked it down one star because I got my food to go and when I got home I realized there was no small salad or dessert. I was so full from the entrees rice and naan that it was forgiven. For take out. I cannot comment on service there but the food is fantastic. I got lamb biriyani and papadum. I'm more used to the light kind if papadum, almost paper like. This is thicker and saltier than what I was used to. I will probably not buy the papadum again The biriyani- OMG is really good. It's the dry kind of biriyani- not the one laden with sauce. Not only will you get kind and comforting service, you'll get deliciously warm, fragrant and flavorful food. The butter chicken is to die for. The sauce is thick, creamy & unctuous! Put it over a bed of rice or spoon it with/ pieces of naan, and enjoy every bite. We also ordered the vegetable momos - steamed dumplings that pair with another aromatic chutney sauce. My BF recommended this spot so that I could try authentic Indo-Chinese food. OMG a match made in culinary heaven. The chow mein was spicy good and not too oily. The chili paneer and tandoori paneer had a crunchy but tender bite to it. The mango lassi was made with real mangos and helped to balance all of the spice in our meal. I ordered an order for take out. My go to when trying a new Indian restaurant is always Butter Chicken or Tikka Masala. This time, since the entree was $20 I only opted for the butter chicken. While it was hot, creamy and the chicken was tender, it was...sweet. Which l find at many Indian restaurants. But l absolutely don't want sweet in my dishes. I want a savory and rich buttery curry. Even the raita we ordered was a tad sweet. I did order 3 naans: plain, garlic and cilantro and garlic and cheese. They were ok. I wasn't wowed by any of it, sadly. Oddly enough the mango lassi was not very sweet and small imho for the price they charge. I am glad this place is well loved, and maybe we ordered the wrong items. But it was a miss for us. I will try to come back for their lunch special. It looked like they do a lunch buffet. So that would be a fantastic way to try many items for a smaller cost. This restaurant is in an old Thai restaurant we used to frequent. The parking lot in this shopping center is a nightmare. Spots are small and l have seen many almost accidents here. My husband and l dubbed it the worst shopping center in Oceanside lol. So be warned. If you like your curry on the sweet side, this may be an awesome find for you. The restaurant (while l did not stay to dine in) was clean, bright and the people who gave me my order were kind and polite to everyone. We are always looking for good ethnic food when we are traveling. This place came through for us. Cute decor, small restaurant with good food. They start you with a lentil soup. Very flavorful.
