We ordered two types of chicken, two orders of rice, garlic nan and we were quickly served. The food was very delicious and we enjoyed our choices. We choose spice level 3 and it was a very good and flavorful. Service was cool, although we ran out of water and they didn't really check in our table, even tho we were the only ones there. My only complaint was the price as the total was around $40-50 and we didn't get a crazy amount of food for the price. It had a chill vibe but it seems more people order to go than eat in. read more

This place is a hidden little gem in the parking lot where Stater Bros. is on the corner of El Camino Real in Mission. They make delicious Indian food and have a lot of great choices on the menu including Chinese Indian fusion (I really like chow mein noodles). If you like really thick soft naan, theirs is the best. I have had my eyes on this place for a while and was happy to try it out! I got the rice and Chicken Masala to go. I was surprised to Yellow Rice and thought it would be white or something. It was not my favorite but I needed it to balance the heat from the chicken. I ordered the heat at a 6 and it had a good spice to it and I'm glad I didn't go any higher! The temp also stayed warm for quite some time which was nice. I think they had a buffet going on too and I am curious about that and might want to check it out, in the future. I did, however, notice a bug at the first table closest to the door. Like most businesses, they had the doors open so of course creepy crawlers can get in. It looked like a termite maybe. I am not sure. Also, I was not sure if this place was a little pricey? I paid about $20 for the two items. Got take out for lunch. Only the chef was there. First, being Indian I know how important it is to ventilate a kitchen when cooking. The restaurant needs to work on this as the smells (which I don't mind) are overpowering. I ordered several items and it took about 20-25 minutes to prepare. Stopped by for a quick bite during our lunch break and this little joint did not disappoint. It was a little tough to spot at first, but they're located in the far corner of the plaza (Nextdoor to Maxdon's). The inside is decorated with numerous vibrant colors (I really should've taken photos- it was super cute). Overall, the atmosphere was very relaxing. I ordered the Butter Chicken and my coworker ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala; we each got the lunch specials and a side order of Garlic Naan. The flavors were on point and the lunch portions were the perfect size for each of us. The gentlemen who took our orders and brought out our food were very welcoming and nice! I always love places that make the customer feel at home. Summary: I would definitely go back for more Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan. No joke: I could bathe in that sauce and cuddle up next to that Garlic Naan like it's my "little spoon". Thanks to the fabulous gents for the yummy eats! Just moved to Oceanside from San Diego, which has some great Indian fare. Had my eye on this place since it's close to my condo - first off, it's a small Mom/Pop ran shop. Love that. Second, as I walking in I saw another Indian family leaving. Sweet. Usually a good sign. Third - started with the basics - garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka and Navratan Korma, all excellent!!! Spice level was 3 which was perfect for me. I wish the naan bread was a little thicker, but, if that's my only complaint then SCORE!! I will update my review as I'm coming back to try more dishes. Second time here already :-) It is not quite a 5 but it is more than a 4 :-) Cool setup. I like the decor, especially the umbrellas. It gives some color to an otherwise modern somewhat bland building. The food is awesome. First gobi pakoras... we have not seen this on any menu in years, and this is pur favorite starters. The 2 chutneys that come with are very tasty and seasoned right. The veggie samosa are really really good. The filling is classic, however the dough was perfect. Savory, crispy, not oily, the perfect vessel. Chicken makhani (Butter chicken) is a dish we use to compare Indian places, and we are not disappointed here. The chicken is thigh, cut small, super tender and easy to eat. You can feel the care into the preparation. We took spicy 2 (from 1 to 10) and it was perfect for me, striking a real good balance. Best in North County so far... Tandoori chicken is good but is missing a char I really like from the tandor oven. Not their best dish IMHO. Chicken tikka masala is really tasty. There again a spicy 2 was good enough for a good balance. Creamy with deep flavor sauce, the chicken breast pieces are cut small and are tender and not dry. I am really happy we have this spot close to home, with a really deep menu for appetizers, and desserts as well. read more

This was probably one of the worst indian take outs we have gotten. First of all, the food was not ready at the promised time, had to drive around the neighborhood and come back to receive the most disappointing meal. The tandoori chicken felt and tasted like it was cooked a long time ago, felt like microwaved day old chicken. The lamb biryani was unflavored, the rice was just plain with just spiced lamb added on top. The garlic naan also felt old, it just broke into a pieces instead of that chewy texture it's supposed to have. This is our new favorite Indian food spot. The food was prepared to order and we picked our spice level. The flavors were incredible. The service was great and the gentlemen working were very friendly. You can tell they really know what they are doing with their food. We had the chicken malsala and butter chicken and they were both super tender and delicious. The rice was also very good and a 7 spicy was the perfect level of hot. Great atmosphere. I'll preface this by saying I've taken probably about 20 trips to India, in a number of different cities in different parts of the country, and I do indulge in the food while I'm there. I eat everything from the street food to the fancy restaurant food when visiting. I feel like I know Indian food very well. This was pretty average Indian food, even by US standards. Chili paneer - good but they cut the paneer in such small slices that it gets too dry when fried, and it has totally lost the soft inner texture that is supposed to be present. Good paneer can be crispy on the outside, but needs to be soft on the inside to taste good. Palak paneer - was pretty good but again the same thing with the paneer. It was the best meal of the bunch I think. Chicken tikka masala - probably below average. Really heavy on the tomato sauce and also it seemed too heavy on the garam masala spice. Naan - easily the worst naan either of us had in our lives. It wasn't fluffy, it was dry, definitely not fresh from the tandoor. I'm not sure what to compare it to, but even store bought naan is miles better than this. It was really, really bad, and undeserving of being called naan. Value - prices seem good until you see the portions. Everything is a la carte and the portions are very small. In the end, not a good deal or value. Customers - a number of people came in and out, but not a single one of them was Indian. This is very telling. Good Indian restaurants are filled with Indian people. When it's all non-Indians, that's usually not a good sign. I really, really hope this small business succeeds, but we won't be going back. read more

Been here 5 times now. Has to be some of the best Indian food in San Diego, for sure the best in north county. Got something different every time and no complaints at all.
