I've been there for both lunch and dinner, and every time I leave happy. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are absolutely worth it. I was first introduced to Turmeric Hut during the Taste of Oceanside event and was blown away by how amazing their sample was. It was so good that I've been back many times since, and it never disappoints. The butter chicken is a must-try--rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And the naan is fabulous, fresh, and the perfect complement to every meal. If you're looking for excellent Indian food in Oceanside, I highly recommend Turmeric Hut. First time trying this placed and was accused of being too poor! Yea this just happened, I ordered food from this place to try it for the first time, signed up for their website notifications and gave him 30 minutes. Walked in there and immediately I realized that had no idea that anyone was coming to pick up food.. I showed them the confirmation on their own website with purchase number, showed them their text. Confirmation showed them my credit card receipt. They looked at their computer and didn't have the order in their system, so obviously it was my fault. The old gentleman they suggested that I didn't have enough room on my credit card and the charge was denied. He literally said I was too poor to eat there. F$-@ this restaurant! Their food may be good, I don't know. All I will say is I will never go to this place again and if you do, do not try and buy off of their website. They will rip you off. I have to try every Indian restaurant in town. I want to know which is the best. This would be second on my list in Oceanside. We tried their weekend brunch; 11:30-2:30. I love a buffet. We finally stopped by for the weekend buffet , and wow, what a spread! At $20 per person, it's such a great value for the variety and freshness. There's a nice balance of vegetarian and meat dishes, and everything tastes like it's made with care. The chai is self-serve and perfectly spiced, and it just ties the whole experience together. Small family owned restaurant with well presented Indian food. We came for the lunch buffet after church and were impressed by the offerings. The sweetest surprise was the chai tea is also included in the buffet. I am really picky when it comes to naan bread. Theirs is actually in my top 3, and l LOVE Indian food (read: l eat a lot of it). Even when l came back to it maybe 10 mins later, it was still pillowy soft. Amazing! The inside has maybe 4 tables and there is also seating outside. We will definitely come back. The lunch buffet was lovely and had 4 vegetarian options, in addition to rice, spicy pickles, plain naan, masala tea & a dessert. The dessert was a creation of the owner's that was super tasty with rice, tapioca, mango, raisins, and more. The price was great too at only $20. read more

The chicken tikka masala and saag are delicious here. We have done take out here and sat inside, where this is plenty of seating. Their lunch buffet is popular. I say don't leave without trying their gulaab jamun. Service is fast and friendly and the food is so fresh! My husband and I went here with a craving for Indian food. The staff was very helpful with finding menu options for the each of us. The portions are definitely individual, and on the pricier side, but totally worth it! It's pretty quiet in there, and our food came fast which was nice. I'm not going to lie, I'm weak when it comes to spice, I even got mild! When one of the staff came to check on us, he took my food for me and added more cream, which I thought was very nice. We are from the coachella valley and we don't have many options when it comes to Indian cuisine. When we go out of town we always look for an Indian or Vietnamese restaurants. We have tried a few in the LA and riverside area and hands down this has to be the best we have had. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We are Mexican and love our spicy food. What we enjoyed was the fact that they have a level of spice on each dish. We ordered a 7, but honestly we should have ordered a 5 because it was so spicy. This tiny restaurant only has 5 tables, and all were taken when I was there. The lunch buffet is $21 per plus tip. They offer their chai in cute yellow mugs, but the mugs are sitting on a paper mat that needs replacing. They offer 4 kinds of chicken dishes and four to six vegetarian dishes. The Aloo Gosht was really good. There's a dosa station at the front, which they offered me after 25 minutes into my meal. I had to make room in my tummy, and it was worth it. Delicious! The Shahi Tukda desert (sourdough bread deep fried in ghee, milk, cardamom, saffron, topped with nuts) was phenomenal. She even gave me a cup to go. Some of the things you usually see at Indian food buffets are missing: papadams, salad, orange slices, mint chutney, and kheer pudding. You're not required to use a new plate with every trip to the buffet, which is per CA law, but unfortunate given how careless some patrons are. They didn't offer me water after 20 minutes into my meal, so when I asked for it I learned that it's via a self serve dispenser around the corner from the tables. My husband and I tried this place out for the first time. We decided it was a take out order night. We placed the order and the order was filled in about 10-15 min.. The service was quick and friendly. Our order: 1- Mango Lassi 1- Shrimp Biryani 1- Onion naan 1- Garlic naan 1- Rice pudding 1- Chicken Vindaloo with rice = $66 Because it was our first time here we decided to keep the spice level low, a 2 for the Shrimp Biryani. Thank goodness that we did because it was quite spicy. Good flavor though and plenty of good sized shrimp. The Chicken vindaloo seemed a bit more tart than I'm used to, but it didn't stop me from eating it. The naan's were good but to our surprise the onion had a kick to it. My rice pudding dessert was delicious. I didn't warm it up and it was good enough for me. It had a few raisins which added a little more sweetness to the dish. This spot had indoor and outdoor seating available. It is clean, a smaller space inside the building. Wine and beer is available. I enjoyed my mango lassi. Finally found an Indian restaurant in North county that I can gush about! I ordered lunch via Grubhub today: the butter chicken, garlic naan, onion and veggie pakoras (fritters), and paani puri. Every dish just burst with flavor. Will be back to try their extensive selection of other chaats next time. My only caveat would be that Tumeric Hut is slightly more costly than most casual Indian spots, but the flavors you get here are worth it! read more

Upon entering, you'll be immersed within the authentic Indian decor, artwork and memorabilia; even the interior motif colors are that of the turmeric vegetable. There's a lot of thought, care and love that went into it. Their seating is suitable for couples and even small groups, but may feel too cramped for kids who want to run around. Turmeric Hut has an interesting & innovative POS system that allows for customers to order their food from the counter in-person or from an easy-to-use digital tablet with a tap of their online menu. This system also allows customers to order ahead of time online for pickup or even place an order for delivery. When I needed a hearty meal and was driving on the 76, a quick scan showed me this place and I'm so glad we went. As someone who loves spicy food, I was pleasantly surprised by the spicy level 10 here and just how hot and flavorful it was. The garlic cheese naan was some of the best I've ever eaten. There's no way there would have been leftovers. You can't go wrong with chicken tikka masala, as Turmeric Hut nailed it with some of the best I've ever had. Also, the chai was amazing. My husband and I decided to try their weekend brunch buffet after watching a local Instagram post and I'm all about trying local spots. Welp, I would give them 3.5 stars for the naan, tandoori chicken, and chai tea. The "mango" dessert was also pretty good. Everything else was just okay and lacked flavor.
