Beautiful area with lots of kids playing by the fountain. Sitting is inside or outside the restaurant. Lady who greeted us were very nice. All tables were taken outside so we sat inside the restaurant looking out to the fountain area. Place was decorated nicely with pillows on some of the sittings. Really cute place and cozy. Three of us were hungry and the aroma coming from the kitchen made us twice as hungry. We ordered 2 vegetable dishes, Palak Paneer and Aloo Matar. The Palak Paneer which is spinach with cheese was delightful. It is our favorite vegetable dish and tied our entrees together. It's comforting and savory. The Aloo Matar fresh peas and potatoes were as delicious but hard to compare with the Paneer. I did like the peas a lot. For our entrees we had the Chicken Kadai, Lamb Tarkari and Chicken Tandoori. All came with basmati rice. The chicken kadai had a nice spicy kick. The lamb was tender and lots of cinnamon notes. The tandoori was crispy, tender and juicy. The Garlic cilantro naan was tasty, soft and buttery and great with soaking in all the curry sauce. All the flavors hit the right spot and were all delicious! We had a tiny leftover left of the rice, naan and Aloo Matar. Otherwise we devoured our entire meal. It was that yummy!!! We love this place. Everything about our experience felt like your grandmother or aunties made these food just for you. It was that authentic and cozy! If you're by Carlsbad and want to experience the taste of Nepal, Indian and Tibetan cuisine, this place is for you. They will treat you like family. This will be our go to place when we visit Carlsbad again. Will be back!!!

My husband gets something different every time lol. Their lunch special is excellent but I've gotten my two favorites dishes outside lunch hours and enjoyed it so much. Even great as left overs!!! My kids love the nan. So fresh. They keep their restaurant clean and welcoming. They are not expensive, it's just that we can't dine out all the time because gas and rent etc is all so expensive or this restaurant would see me multiple times a week lol.

A Hidden Gem in Oceanside - Amazing Food Every Time!…read more Turmeric Hut has become one of our family's favorite restaurants in Oceanside. I've been there for both lunch and dinner, and every time I leave happy. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are absolutely worth it. I was first introduced to Turmeric Hut during the Taste of Oceanside event and was blown away by how amazing their sample was. It was so good that I've been back many times since, and it never disappoints. The butter chicken is a must-try--rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And the naan is fabulous, fresh, and the perfect complement to every meal. If you're looking for excellent Indian food in Oceanside, I highly recommend Turmeric Hut. My family and I love it!

Walked in there and immediately I realized that had no idea that anyone was coming to pick up food.. I showed them the confirmation on their own website with purchase number, showed them their text. Confirmation showed them my credit card receipt. They looked at their computer and didn't have the order in their system, so obviously it was my fault. The old gentleman they suggested that I didn't have enough room on my credit card and the charge was denied. He literally said I was too poor to eat there. F$-@ this restaurant! Their food may be good, I don't know. All I will say is I will never go to this place again and if you do, do not try and buy off of their website. They will rip you off. I'm disputing the charge now

I got the shrimp vindalu, which had great flavor. Each bite was a flavor explosion to my tastebuds. The shrimps were very tender, and the potatoes soaked up the sauce so well. Paired with the garlic naan, the meal was simply divine. Not only was the food amazing, the man behind the counter with the curly mustache was incredibly nice. He gave us recommendations, described some of the food, and even chatted with us a bit since the store wasn't too full. Since we were all so happy with our experience, we decided to go back the next day for lunch! This time I ordered the chicken lunch combo, which came with rice and naan, and I chose to get butter chicken and chicken curry. The lunch meals are premade and served from warming tubs, as opposed to the made to order dinner meals. It was still very delicious however! The butter chicken had a rich, pungent flavor, and the meat had a deep red color, I'm assuming from hours of marinating. The chicken curry was great as well, but not quite as good as the butter chicken. I also got a mango lassi, which I had heard all about but had never tried. It was super creamy and sweet, and was perfect to wash down the spicy curry. This restaurant has a few other locations all across SoCal, and each one is owned by a different members of the family, which we learned by talking to the man behind the counter. I would definitely come back, this is the best Indian food I have ever had.

I decided to get a mango lassi, naan, and chicken makhani, and the woman working the counter asked if I was ordering just for myself. When I said yes, she recommended the combo which includes rice and naan. I love a combo, and this one sounded like a really good deal. It also came with the option to get double chicken makhani or to add another entrée selection. I chose the malai kofta. I appreciated her suggestion, and considering how late I was there, I left a nice tip. When the order was ready about 10 minutes later, she told me that she had thrown in a couple of extras. Instead of making me feel like a burden for coming in late, they treated me with kindness and generosity. I say all of this not so everyone who goes here expects freebies toward the end of the night, but so that you know the service is top-notch and the food is a great value even without the bonus add-ons. If I find myself over here again while I'm still in San Diego, I will absolutely pick up takeout from Punjabi Tandoor.

Pair that with their Masala Chai, and you are in culinary heaven. The mall location means parking is a breeze, the seating is plentiful, the hygiene is immaculate, and the owner and staff are genuinely wonderful people to talk to. Everything is flawless until you ask for extra napkins, at which point the hospitality ends and the Great Napkin Depression begins. The atmosphere instantly shifts, and you are treated less like a dining guest and more like a fraudulent loan applicant. Even the sketchiest hole-in-the-wall joints leave a full box of napkins on the table and the fast-food drive-thrus throw handfuls of paper at you, but here? You are handed exactly one single, microscopic, budget-grade square per person that feels mathematically engineered to dissolve on contact. It's a tease, not a tool. I needed a beach towel; I got a postage stamp. I am forcibly deducting a full star for this tragic tissue tragedy. Break up the napkin monopoly, Sankalp, and you get your 5 stars back! Final verdict: Unless you are emotionally attached to good-quality napkins, or don't mind smuggling a roll of Bounty in your jacket pocket, you absolutely must visit this place for the food alone!!
