**This rating is for the deva cut itself, not the service** it's been seven months since I got my haircut and although I liked how my hair appeared when initially styled, it looked horrible once I washed and styled it myself. Curls are springier but my hair looks and feels a lot thinner than it did before I cut it. I don't like how I still have a short, triangular top layer with a bottom layer that goes inward, giving it a mushroom-like appearance. The right side of my hair is not only thin to the point where I can see through my layer, it's noticeably shorter than the left. I regret getting a deva cut because I'll now need to spend twice the time growing it out in hopes of fixing my hair and re-trimming/cutting it. An amazing, local find! It's so hard to find stylists who really know how to do a curly cut and how to maintain curls. It felt great to have a conversation with Michelle about products and styling techniques to improve my styling methods from season to season. Her office is super chic and very clean. We both wore masks for the duration of the appointment. I described what I wanted and showed her a photo, and she matched it EXACTLY. First, she performed a beautiful dry cut with a round, super layered shape. I was excited to get washed using Olaplex products for the first time ever. She styled using multiple products to form a cast. I went under the dryer and diffuse, and voila! Shiny, healthy, layered, elongated curls! She helped me wrap my hair because (my luck) it was storming the day of my cut. I woke up the next morning and decided to do a quick restyle after dealing with the weather! Well.. HOLY. COW. All I did was re-wet and diffuse upside down, and the round, voluminous cut came alive. The layering is so perfect that the cut revitalized my curls! I got my hair colored at a different salon last November and since then, my curl pattern has been ruined. I've been trying to get it back, and Michelle truly helped. Michelle is such a powerhouse of talent, I'm nearly left speechless. I found her via Yelp and was immediately impressed by the pictures, and the admiration is tenfold now that I've actually had my hair done by her. I love being blonde, but did NOT love my current shade, as it was too light for my skin tone, and there was no dimension; it looked like I had gotten a full head of dye rather than the intended highlights. Michelle was easily able to identify the problem and went right to work fixing it, explaining as she went along. She lifted the blonde and added some much needed lowlights for what resulted in gorgeous color that looks so natural. I also got a trim, which she did on my hair after drying it. The precision was remarkable and, even though she barely took off any length, the difference is amazing. My hair looks and feels so healthy; I can honestly say this is the best cut and color I've ever gotten. Such a great experience! It's a very private salon/studio. But what's so great about it is that you get that more one on one attention. It's like having a personalized hair cut appointment. We took our son for his first hair cut.
