As I was walking through queens Blvd looking for a hair salon I stumbled upon sky beauty salon. I stepped inside and was greeted and went straight to the back to get my hair washed. Forgot the ladies name but she did an amazing job taking her sweet time in massaging my scalp and shampooing and conditioning it. I love it when they don't rush and take their time to service you. In Mother's day weekend but it was easy to get an appt. call in 15 mins in advance and get a seat right away. I didn't expect anything but this is like Spanish salon. I have been getting my threading and waxing done by Rajni for 16 years. She's extremely gentle as I have very low tolerance for pain. If you want to try either one of these services, but are afraid or traumatized from someone who hasn't been gentle, this will be your go-to person. I went here 2 weeks ago to do perm with my friend. we have made appointment for that but when we came in we still had to wait before we were seated even though the seats are empty. The owner, told me that i couldnt do perm because i bleached my hair before. I appreciate that and i decided just to have a haircut. At the end though, when i wanted to pay. She charged me $40 firstly. Then, I showed her i have 10% discount from yelp, she IMMEDIATELY changed it and charged me $65 for the haircut even though my hair was shoulder length short. I complained but she didnt even want to listen to it. This is the first time ever i had to spend $62 (with tax) for a haircut when i have short hair. $80 with tips. On the other hand, my friend, who got charged 120 for perm, got the 10% discount and also free of tax because she paid cash. I paid cash too but she still charged me that. The thing is that she couldn't operate the cashier machine and she ASKED us to count it for her. She just charged whatever she want, i will never come back! The next day, i was going to let it go and not to write review or anything BUT i washed my hair and THE HAIRCUT WAS MAD UGLY. The day before, they blowdryer my hair and curl it temporarily. So i couldnt see that. My friend's curl is barely there anymore too right now and it's been only 2 weeks! So i wrote this review because i feel that people deserve to know. read more

She was not pushy at all and made good recommendations on how to keep my hair looking healthy despite the Balayage process I was getting done which involves bleaching. I went in to get my hair done for my baby shower and forgot I had not gotten my eyebrows threaded. This salon has an amazing eyebrow lady who looked super busy with clients back to back so I decided to ask her to thread my eyebrows since she I was already there. She was phenomenal. Took her time and very detailed! Lastly- the shampoo woman Marina is the sweetest. She would always check in on me and offer water and coffee to make sure I was comfortable. I chose this salon because of its rave Reviews and it's proximity to my house. I was excited because I was in a time crunch. When I entered, there was just one guy doing a lady's hair and another lady doing someone's eyebrows. I saw some people in the back look at me. There were two people talking at the waiting area. Mind you this is an open concept layout. No one says hello. No one acknowledges me. The reception is empty. I decide to take a seat. Wait. And spot the menu, $10 for eyebrows, $8 for lips, Jackson heights which is one stop away, does both for $10. Anyways, it's only as I get up n look lost does one of the two people talking in the waiting area get up and ask if I need help.?!! How does that add up or look? He actually works there .
