Since I needed new battery sooner, went to MacInspires figuring the $10 premium was worth it but was told I would be charged $49 for battery. When called the following day to contest the price of the battery (should have been $39 not $49) and discuss that the sales person had misrepresented the price, I was told I could bring back to phone and have the old battery replaced. The atmosphere of the studio is fantastic, it was such a safe place to come to after school. Irina really listens to you and tries to understand who you are while also helping you discover that as well. I am immensely grateful for my time in Nefda and will forever hold it dear in my heart. If you're interested in receiving a pre college class or you just want to sew a dress I highly recommend coming to this school.

We just completed one of their summer camps though that was a completely different experience. They had 26 campers in a tiny room with 5 staff members. Kyle unfortunately left the company that week and my daughter went from loving it to coming home crying every day. When I confronted Irina, I was told that they had 26 kids and just could not cope, which I understood, however taking on that many kids is completely in her control, so it is therefore hard to understand why it happened. That being said the thing that insulted me the most was that she said that my child was used to having everything done for her at home which is why she wasn't capable of finishing her dress on her own. She is actually a really good student that requires very little help with tasks or learning something new but the reality is she is 8 - and relatively new to sewing - which is why she was struggling. In the end her 9 year old friend had to pin her in to the dress for the fashion show. I hate writing this review as under Kyle's leadership, it was such a magical place. I would think twice about sending your younger child here and if you do, make sure there are no more than 12 in the class.

I wish they offer their adult workshops year-round. Also wish they offer Zoom classes for adults and would hold some special events more often. Most of their classes are focused towards children, not adults. They should do more to inspire adult attendance IMO. I've had a few workshops cancelled due to low enrollment, which is disappointing but to be fair, I've had this happen with other art schools too. They aren't always consistent with responding to emails so it's best to call if you have questions. I've also noticed inconsistencies on their schedule/calendars. My favorite teachers are Theresa Bates and Roy Lerner. I highly recommend (both passionate about teaching) and to learn about mixed media, which Theresa also sometimes teaches. Mixed media has changed my life in some of the most spectacular ways!
