These classes are booked for 2 hours which is way too long. Now that I have done the class, I understand why. Despite them telling you to arrive 15-30 minutes early, they started the class 25 minutes late. That meant we sat around waiting for 40 minutes. Really annoying. We realized why it was taking so long. The teacher was also the bartender and had to pour everyone's drinks. They need to have one person teaching and one person tending bar. Then she would give everyone very long "breaks" during class but it was just an opportunity to pour more drinks. Again, you need 2 staff in a class of 40 people. Otherwise it was fun but everything took way too long. I wouldn't return. read more

I am already a painter, but I agreed to go with my friend to check this place out as I was honestly curious. It was a good experience. Although I am experienced with painting, they really break it down for you so you can be a beginner and leave with a beautiful painting. Went on a night where drink was included and it was cool. It also lasts about from 630-930 so you so get a few hours in, a canvas, instruction, paint, and a glass of wine (if you choose the night where it's included for about $30 to $45 dollars. As good as paint bar's get. The staff was more than helpful and entertaining. The music was great and we actually danced while our painting were drying. The location was easy to find. We were a party of two, sat with great people who share their painting skills with us. The bar area get's crowded and they could use additional staff as the place was busy with a private party as well. It would have been nice to have someone extra to walk around and assist with the painting as well. Our session was packed. They lose a star for this and terrible parking but it's not really their fault. Make sure, if you're not from the area, arrive early to plan for finding a metered spot, downloading the parking app or walking from a parking garage. I don't consider myself the best artist, but I think the whole concept of Muse Paintbar and similar businesses are a fun way for groups to hang out. They promote conversation, get you out of your comfort zone, and help you learn something new about your peers. You may have an experience that fits none of those hallmarks, but go with me on this ;-). I've been to a few paint-and-sip places both for recreation and as team building activities for work - and while I've grown a small collection of mediocre canvases, the process of making them was always fun. Muse specifically sticks out in my mind because it was the first paint-and-sip place I experienced - first in Yonkers, and most recently here in White Plains. This most recent painting excursions had one of my college friends and I meeting up. Everything about the experience was really streamlined - we made reservations online where you can see the picture you'll be painting and when we got there our names were already in assigned spots. They open the bar and kitchen about 30 minutes before painting begins, and you're able to order throughout the entire session so there's no rush. Our instructor was really friendly and knowledgable - our painting had some intermediate level details but she was super patient with all of us. Additionally, there are a couple of staff members who walked the floor during the session who gave some comforting words of encouragement. Overall, Muse is fun. While Mamaroneck Ave is loaded with restaurants, it's nice to know a place like this is around to break up all the food. I try not to patron places like Muse too often since I'll be overloaded with canvases, but if someone suggested we go I would be totally open to. read more

Muse Paint Bar is located on Mamaroneck Avenue in the center of White Plains. They also have several other locations. The paintings are fun and basic but not babyish which is encouraging to a novice like myself. The instructors are clear with their directions and explain step by step how to achieve a masterpiece. The instructor stands on a platform with their easel. After everyone is seated there is a lesson on our brushes, how they are used, some very helpful hints. Everyone is given their own can of water, five different brushes, an easel, canvas, an apron, paper towel, and of course a plate with the paints needed poured already on. The instructor goes step-by-step and repeats directions so everyone can see and hear what needs to be done. There is also other instructors walking around that can help if one needs some extra assistance. Muse has all the versions of paintings they teach on the walls and if one wishes they can do one of those or paint on their own, even omit or add a little something. The class is for the painting chosen for that session but the staff is happy to help out no matter what is being painted. Why only 4 stars? It's a bit cramped. Some of the areas are on an awkward angle. The night I went the crowd was rather loud and the instructor could not take control of the room until half way through. I was directly in front of her so I could see and hear her but others towards the back corners could not. This was due to the rudeness of the people painting not the instructor, who tried very hard to ask people to quiet down. It wasn't people talking with each other, it was those that called out and others that added on. We were asked to raise our hands and some refused to follow such a simple request. All in all it was a fun time, great date night. I highly recommend checking Muse out. read more

I love this place and have been here a bunch. You need to make reservations in advance because they will fill up - a lot of their paintings are really popular and as long as you make your reservation in advance you'll have a spot. Sometimes I've even made a reservation earlier in the day (and gone that night). The staff is friendly and nice - the food is great! I've gotten the brownie, bruschetta, hummus, etc. there and I always get Chardonnay. The staff goes slowly enough to help everyone on their paintings and the directions are given step by step, so it's really easy to follow. I'll definitely be back! read more

I went with a small group of friends to this location over the weekend. It was my first time trying it so I was a little nervous. Our instructor Whisper was extremely helpful and talented. She would teach us step by step giving us helpful techniques along the way. After demonstrating each step on her own canvas she would walk around the room helping anyone who needed or had questions. It made me feel reassured and comfortable with each step before she moved on. Amazing instructor! We had a great time I'd definitely come back. read more

My first time here at Muse and won't be my last. Purchased my tickets on their site for $29pp which also included a first drink of your choice on the house. (Win) I came here with my girlfriend on a Monday night and had a wonderful time. I'm not big on wine so they had a great selection of bottled beer for me which was nice. No IPA's however but one of the workers suggested one I'd like in similarity and was really spot on so thanks ;) We also were a little hungry and to my surprise, they served small played food as well at decent prices for what was given. The food was good, no complaints here. The instructors were all very friendly, helpful with everyone, patient and a few comedians that made everything great. Been to other wine and paint places and this one was definitely my favorite. It was a fun atmosphere with lots of great music and support from the staff. My table didn't eat but I liked that a bunch of food was available if needed. The free drink was awesome too. We went on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Muse is centrally located with ample parking. It was a little tight. There were 2 classes in tandem with one painting appearing more advance - area had less people. There is no groupon for this event and cost $35 but includes wine, beer or juices. Fair warning to anyone considering the purchase of a gift card. I received one as a gift, and then our location mysteriously closed. Contacted customer service about 4 months ago and was assured a refund check would arrive in a few weeks. After waiting 4 plus months, I reached out again. Same rep seemed perplexed as to why but after a couple emails I received this: ello, After some digging, it would seem that this refund was not authorized by anyone from the accounting department. Due to the company being under federal receivership, and all books for 2019 being sealed as part of this order, these refunds will not be issued. We apologize for the miscommunication on this, but at this juncture there is little anyone can do to lift a federal order to issue such refunds, especially for such small amount. Ryan Look him up, he's a jerk that considers $50.00 spent by customers as "such small amount". Google the business, really a negative situation. read more

Fun time. This was my first time going to a paint night. The place itself was a little tight, our painting was sold out and there was a good amount of people in there. Parking is street parking but we got lucky and got a spot right out front. Also I suggest downloading the white plains parking application, it'll make your life a lot easier especially if you go before six and the max time is an hour. It seemed to me like a glass of wine was a bit on the pricey side. Ordered the spinach and feta tart things, melted in your mouth. Staff was incredibly helpful and encouraging. The instructor was quite nice, taught in a great way, and more lead us and encouraged us rather than taught. The bartender, who also painted, made for a great sidekick. She was so fast, she could show you have to "erase" as it was just a question of reversing and doing the color scheme of the last move...to cover over earlier work. Love this place. It's in the heart of downtown white plains, very easy to find. It's Fun, new, enjoyable and different experience,great as a couples date or for a group of friends girls or guys. The instructor was very patient, she even had a lil sense of humor and the crowd of folks are all friendly and super helpful. Well worth the money considering you leave with a personalized keep-sake. They serve beer and wine (red & white). The food is not so great but you really won't have to time to eat finger foods if you're into the lesson anyway. I've been to this Muse location a few times now, and everytime I go, my girlfriend and I have had an amazing experience. Everytime, we have had an artist by the name of Whisper who is an extremely talented, hard working, and an attentive individual. She makes it a fun learning experience. I actually decided to propose to my girlfriend during our last session, and the entire staff was more than helpful in getting this important day right. Had an amazing time here with friends for couples night!!!! It was myself my bf and 2 other couples. Really easy to register online and choose to sit with your group. I'm not sure of the girls name but she has half blue hair and she had patience and great teaching. The guy that worked at the bar was helpful too as he walked around and gave pointers. Muse PaintBar has the best instructors of any Paint and Sip place I have been to. I have been to 9 different painting places in New York, Connecticut, Wisconsin, and Texas. White Plains is my favorite location for the instructor's expertise, tables proximity for viewing the instructor, acoustics, and they carry Kopparberg Swedish Pear Cider (an insanely delicious Hard Cider). I started going to Muse 2 years ago, when I thought I could only paint stick figures. The way the instructors walk you through the painting, step by step, brought out unknown talents in me. Now I am a painting addict. I get to Muse every month or so, but I also paint like crazy at home. Do not be afraid to go paint. Choose a painting that looks simple to start with, to build your confidence. Go again and again with your friends and have a relaxing therapeutic fun time painting. The instructors are there to help you at any point you need or want assistance. And you will go home with either a surprisingly good painting, or a grand work of modern art! This was my first time trying the paint bar thing and I must say it's very cool. They played good music and the staff was laid back and fun. There are only three minor things that kept me from giving them five stars, 1) they should wipe down the tables before starting a new class - the minute I sat down I touched a glob of paint on the table, 2) they should also have clean aprons which also still had globs of wet paint which does not come off easy from clothing and 3) they should chill their drinks. I realize there are minor things but the paint is really very hard to get out of clothes, once it's dry you're out of luck. BUT it's still worth coming here, it's a very fun experience and the staff is very very nice. read more
