We finally stopped in to check out this store. Getting to the store is a little awkward as you have to drive through the El Super, et al. parking lot(s). When we entered we immediately noticed that we appeared to be the only guests there on a Sunday afternoon. There were a ton of employees in each section of the store. The store is similar to a BestBuy with the addition of baby items, furniture, toy section and perfume / makeup section. There is also a small children's play area (so parents can shop). It appears to be a more rent to own type of store where you can open a store credit card (there a section of the store set up for financing - like a bank with a row of desks next to the micro cafe area (and the children's play area). In each section of the store you are greeted by an employee eager to sell you something and help you apply for store credit. Most of the staff are very friendly. I was surprised that with 4 employees of the beauty section - no one greeted us or offered assistance. I did some price comparisons in the baby section and their prices were comparable to Amazon and Walmart's prices. read more

I have made calls and have went into store only to be told another manager would be in contact with me. I have still almost two months later am out double my money. The store in general is alright, some things are overpriced but they have a deal here and there but my main complaint with the store is their absolutely terrible customer service. I have literally gone to this store on 3 occasions and each one was bad. The first time I went , my son picked out a toy on clearance, and when I went to the cash register to pay the item did not wring up (which tends to happen when an item had reached its Last markdown) so the employee went and got a newer version of the toy to get the price. I explained to her the price was different because the toy was on clearance. The employee sighed at me and told me she would have to get a manager. The manager came back with 3 more of the newer version of the toy and talked to me as If i were stupid saying 'this is the price of the toy , as you can see here, very similar packaging' lol! I know it's similar, but not the same because this was the older version and therefore marked down. He told me 'well I'm sorry, I can't give it to you for that price' more upsetting Thant he fact that they don't honor the prices they post themselves is how they treated me and talked to me.The second occasion I went to buy appliances, the employee that helped us was not the most knowledgeable or helpful but she was very nice. But then another employee got involved and the process became more frustrating because instead of giving us information on the things we were interested in, they just kept trying to upsell us and push a particular item. Despite this, In the end we purchased a refrigerator, a washer and dryer and a tv, spending over 6k , and they assured us they had an amazing return policy and that they would price match any other stores price and beat it by 10% within a certain amount of time after our our purchase. fast forward 2 days later I saw the refrigerator at a much much lower price at the Home Depot as well as a much lower price on the washer and dryer. I went to the store to have it price matched as they told me I could and it was immediately a problem. The assistant manager (Anthony Sorano) informed us they could not price match because the items did not come up at that price on the Home Depot website. We told him that was because this specific store had them on sale and showed him pictures of the sale and price tag at the hole depot and he continued to say no, and that he could send the request to corporate but that it would be a waste of time and they would say no too because their price match guarantee doesn't cover that, which is understandable but very frustrating when the employee selling to you doesn't explain that, they Just tell you their policy is amazing and that they will match any price because all they care about in the moment is making a sale. We tell him we want a refund if he cannot price match (items have not left the store and we're scheduled to be delivered a week later) and he gives us a refund in cash for the washer and dryer, then when it comes to the fridge he tells us that he cannot refund it because they cannot refund more than 2,500 in cash. We ask how come? We see you have the money in store and he tells us it's because they're technically not allowed to have that much money in store????? So he says the only other way to receive a refund for the fridge is my check which would take two weeks to be delivered, despite the fact that it clearly states on their website (will post picture) that refund will be returned to the original form of payment, which in our case was a debit card. The assistant manager helping us just unsympathetically kept shaking his head and saying 'I can't do that mam' when we asked for it to be refunded to our debit card. We now have to go back in another day when the manager is in store to see if he can 'override' this despite the fact that this is the store policy. laughably ridiculous customer service overall. I can not believe that this company is so cavalier when it comes to customer service. After the lies my wife and I endured along with the waiting for two delivery dates that came and went without our product being delivered we never got an apology from the store or the corporate headquarters. The only thing I am getting is advertising sent to my home that I have to keep recycling without viewing. I have tried to stop it by asking to be removed from their mailing list but just as when purchasing an item again they don't listen to their customers request or concerns. This store is very similar to Conn's, the Fingerhut, Rent A Center and other places that offer in-house financing for a "better deal." It is located on the South side of Tucson, just off of the Interstate 10 Highway. It is kind of tucked away but you can see it from the highway heading and either direction. There is plenty of ample parking that is free of charge along with multiple other stores including but not limited to a grocery store, nail place, clothing outlets, boot store, and a place to get your eyebrows threaded. There is a plethora of electronics, appliances, Furniture, toys, perfume, makeup, and even some designer items. Nearly 90% of the merchandise has a tremendous mark-up, far more than going to the mall and purchasing from either a kiosk or a department store. They offer in house financing on almost everything! That was the catch. You pay a premium price and premium interest rate but are able to finance the items to a payment that works for you and potentially own the item after an extremely long time. Not only that, payments are automatically taken out from the associated checking account. read more

The store itself has been excellent in sales and customer support for myself who has been a loyal customer for years. However, I recently had the worst experience with centricity who was handling my tv claim. The claim started ok but took a nose dive after i was denied in home service which is offered on their warranty for tv's larger than 40+ inches. I had to wait 48 hours over 10 days to get an excuse for each problem i faced as a result. No rep would assist me but wrather told me i had to wait so my concerns could be "escalated" Because of this denial i was told I had to call around my city for a repair shop. I had to take my 85 inch 2k$+ tv to get diagnosed and pay out of my own pocket for the repair before any type of reimbursement. I expressed concern and frustration for having to take on this task and was told if I wanted my tv fixed I had to do this myself regardless if the tv may get damaged during transit. After weeks of not getting any resolution from centricity and no reimbursement for repairs I made one last call for help and I reached operations manager Adriana Nieblas from the Tucson store who took it upon herself to file a claim regarding my situation and returned my calls (not one call back from centricity) and after a few days I was offered a final solution which I happily accepted. It was with her help and managers like Isaac Revilla that were willing to help me are reasons why Curacao will keep me as a customer. read more

Holy markups! I kept seeing the commercials on television and was curious to see what all the fuss was about. I happened to be in the plaza buying tomatillos and figured I would stroll over. The stores is a mix electronics, appliances, toys, perfume, makeup and furniture. All of the items were priced much higher than you would find a Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes or Target. There were designer perfumes and sunglasses, all priced higher than the mall stores. I couldn't understand how a store with such high prices could thrive with so much other competition until we were approached by one of the sales reps when playing with the ipad mini. They offer in house financing on almost everything! That was the catch. You pay a premium price and premium interest rate but are able to finance the items to a payment that works for you. This is insane to me, but I get the appeal. As we continued to walk around the store, I continued to notice that each items price was broken down into a monthly payment amount to entice people to buy for just 200 payments of $29 this television set could officially be yours in about 10 years. Let me start by saying I rarely write reviews. My dad signed up for a credit card (against my advice) and bought a computer on it. He doesnt understand how credit works, probably like the majority of people. I, however, work for a global credit card company and understand it very well. His contract stated his monthly payments would a few cents under $70 a month. They calculated the interest already and advised him in 14 months it would be paid off. Okay, fine. I can live with that I suppose. I went online to pay his bill today and his monthly payments were showing as $107. I called customer service. And spoke to the rudest person Ive ever had to deal with name lucy. She kept repeating whatever was agreed in the contract was what I had to pay. I kept telling her that my contract didnt read $107. She then asked if I returned an item. I told her I did because the anti virus software didnt work on the computer he bought. She then proceeded to tell me that they changed the contract. I told her that I was not aware of this and that I was the one that handled everything since he made the purchase. She constantly interrupted me and told me how wrong I was over and over again. I was transfered to 2 different people after requesting to speak with her manager. I was told to go to the store to see about working it out. At the store they told me.I missed a payment on jan 15th for $107. I told them he didnt buy the computer until the 16th of jan. They refused to budge regardless of the contract and receipt i had in hand. I paid off the card right then and there. I will be contacting the BBB about this as well. Once upon a time, as the result of a forbidden affair, Sears and Best Buy had a love child. It was named Curacao. Sent away to boarding school in Mexico it grew up big and strong, exhibiting many of the characteristics of its parents. Computers, appliances, toys, car stereos, furniture and home entertainment are all located within its walls. However, as children often do, Curacao has rebelled in some areas - offering a small DJ mobile music section and being devoid of media. While they do carry some cheaper brands (as in lower quality), overall the prices were on par with other stores in Tucson. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The arrangement of the departments was odd though. For example, the TVs weren't arranged by brand or type or price or size. They were all mixed together. If I'm looking for something particular I'll include these guys in my list of places to price shop. Oh, and the parking lot and traffic patterns in and around this shopping center are ridiculous. read more

Omg, Don't GO HERE! I was looking for something very specific in electronics and no one ever came to help me. I wandered the whole store & no help ever was found. The layout is awful & confusing. There was 3 different songs playing loudly at the same time while shopping & it gave me a headache. I didn't find what I wanted but did find a random item that I decided to buy. That's when things got worse. I went to cash out and the cashier was obviously on the phone with a friend and saw no reason to get off the phone. I was about to walk out when she hung up the phone. She immediately said "cash?" I said no , a card. " But its debit right?" No it's credit. " But we can run it as debit right?" ....NO. CREDIT PLEASE. She than proceeded to run it as debit. When it asked for a pin I said " there's no pins on credit cards!" She had to cancel and start all over again. What's this debit obsession about? Why such awful service? Went in today because I saw online that PS5 had been restocked even though it said online that it was sold out. I called the number on the website to ask why it is saying two different things just to be told that they do that to make the customers personally come to the store to purchase the item. Which I had no problem until I arrived at the store. I told the employee (supervisor) that I do not want the Bundle that I am only here for the PS5 Console ONLY!!! Since that is what they have in stocked. The supervisor tells me that he cannot sell me the PS5 by itself and will have to be purchased as a bundle. Which is quite funny to me because before the store opened they had a quantity of 20 PS5 available and just within one hour of opening that number went down to 19. I asked the supervisor "if this is true, then how did you sell a PS5 before the store even opened?" he refused to answer that question which I thought was hypocritical on his end. So, in other words employees are allowed to purchase the consoles individually without purchasing the bundle? That is pretty stupid. After he tried to keep selling me the bundles I finally agreed to it. Then he tells me I need to apply for the credit card in order to purchase the bundle. I told him "NO, I do not. Because the person I spoke to over the phone at the store yesterday told me that they stopped requiring people to have a credit account and that anyone can purchase the bundles now. He then went to speak with the "manager" about it over the phone and just stated again that I need to apply for the credit card. The most stupidest thing I have ever heard. I was willing to pay cash for the bundle and it is so stupid how they advertise that they accept all debit/credit cards when you can't even use your own to make purchases. Not to mention I had to wait for about 10 min just for someone to walk to the cash register so I can pay for my item when other employees where just standing around. read more

APR are 31% for most people, more than the % allowed by the gov for CC. if you do, and default,, you never get out of the debt, and they don't send the account to collections (to freeze interest, charge off and negotiate), they just keep charging interest indefinitely until the amount owed balloons, then they sue you plus lawyer fees, ending in wage garnishments. nobody buys there, they just live off the interest charged from people that have bad credit. read more

The man that attended me was beyond rude I asked about what kind of laptop I should get and did not help us out at all he was super rude making faces and acted like he did not want to help us. I was annoyed already trying to get his attention to help us out but looked like he did not want to be there . I then picked out a laptop and he asked if I want protection or software and I said no and he made an incredibly rude face and I asked him why did you make that face and just smiled and said nothing. I tried asking questions but got nothing i feel like i went in the dark buying this laptop. Was not informative at all I went in desperate for a computer for school and didn't get the help I needed. So it started ..... lets get a new sofa... OK lets look in line.. so we went... guys there were great (as all sale ''people '') should be. (Notice the Political correctness) found the one. Ordered it. Then waited about a week. Then waited some more...a week and half goes by.....so my wife call just to find out they sent it back ... mind you they have all are information ... all information! ..... so we ask why? Their reply. ''We did not a find a customer for that sofa.... well I had stayed home for the delivery. missed a important appointment that had to reschedule .. so they wanted to charge 100.00 for delivery at first but quickly washed it after talking go my wife. The Manger did remove 50.00 off the total ... at the end it was OK ... got the sofa and it get for a very good price. The only thing I could recommend to anyone .... stay on top of the whole thing ... from the number on the contract to follow up calls as the unit is coming in to the day it picked up or delivered ... other then that all associates were nice and helpful ... read more

When this place opened up there were lots of people and employees!! In every section of the store you would always be bothered by the employees. That was like 2 years ago. Now, you can go inside and not be greeted by anyone. Go inside and watch as the "security/welcoming people at the door" chat with other employees and be on their cellphone! Thinking of buying something? Well you might as well go around the whole store to get someone to help you checkout because there is NO ONE in the cashiers. The parking lot is poorly laid out. Prices are not competitive unless you are buying some no name offbrand. Customer Service is aggressive like they may not eat tonight if you don't buy this television. They push and push and push some more to get you to finance at a horrible APR. I think the game to this place is hocking marked up junk to people who don't understand how credit works. If you are foolish enough to buy a television on credit because they are throwing in some cheap jewelry with it, I guess you have what is coming to you. We were a little gun shy about shopping here because of Google reviews but I have to say we were pleasantly surprised . They have a wide selection of most any electronic item you might want. Everyone was helpful but especially Michael who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful . Albeit for the frenetic holiday shopping season, I found a knowledgeable salesperson. I went in to see if there were any decent specials and did not plan on buying a speaker set for my TV. I compared prices and found that Curacao beat everyone listed on the internet. So, I was sold. The salesperson was a little sarcastic and maybe a bit too much of a wise guy at times, but overall it was a good experience. A plus - Santa was in the store. Enter this store at your own risk. It doesn't even deserve one star, not only is everything already overpriced, but they won't even honor their own so-called discounts. I made a purchase online that came back as "out of stock" and received a 10% off discount code. When attempting to use it in the store, it wouldn't go through. So the representative called her manager and they approved a manual discount for 10%, equalling $57 off. The girl initially helping us walked away however and had a different girl take over. When that women printed our receipt, the discount was gone! When asked about it she initially said "oh it's applied." When I added everything up and pointed out that the discount was not applied, the manager said "what was it for again?" even though she already approved it. When I told her what it was for she said "oh we can't use that on this account" and went back on her approval of the coupon even though they already approved it before. I asked to speak to her manager and honestly I don't even know how he landed the job he's in now because he was one of the most incompetent people I've ever met in my life. Immediately he started talking down to me as if I was a child even though I calmly explained the situation and he just kept repeating "we can't use the coupon" over and over to each thing I said as if I were 3 years old.
