It honestly felt like I went to Bangalore just to have an authentic dosa! I also loved the Aloo Paratha--it had the perfect flavor--and the Chole Bhatura brought back so many childhood memories. Every dish was made with so much care and tasted wonderful. What made the experience even more special was the owner's (Kedar - owners name) warmth and hospitality. We visited late at night, almost around closing time, but he was still very welcoming and greeted us with a beautiful smile. He personally served me and my family and made sure we had a great experience. After dinner, we got a chance to talk with the owner, and he shared that he had actually gone to Bangalore to learn how to make the perfect Benne Dosa. He personally prepared all these dishes for us, and you can truly taste the passion and effort behind his cooking. A wonderful place with delicious food and a very kind owner. Definitely recommend it!

The left side is the store with aisles of indian spices and pantry spices, and so much more. The right side is the restaurant with plenty of seating. We just did carry out. We got the aloo tikki (fried potato & peas patty) to start and it was perfectly crispy and delicious with the chutneys. We got the tikka masala and Manchurian chicken as our main entrees and they were both flavorful and perfectly spiced. The garlic naan was fresh and soft. I only wished there was more rice that came work the tikka masala. The portion was a bit small for the entree. The staff were very nice though.

The place is so good!!…read more A friend recommended me to come here and I said why not give it a try since I was in the area today. Staff were amazing. So kind and so funny and very helpful on my selection. It's a clean restaurant and I mean very clean. They have about 10 tables to sit down and enjoy your food. Do you see how big this bowl aka BOX is?!? I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and it might be one of the best chickens I have had. It was tender and full of proper flavor. The toppings were fresh as well. They top it with garlic and I like it. Their garlic has a kick to it so you know it's freshly made. Their menu has a good selection of different things to order. So there's something that everyone will definitely love. They also make smoothies. They specifically in a Afrikano style which is more spicy. I wasn't feeling spicy today, but I'll definitely come next time to try it. I'm glad I finally gave this place and try and will most definitely be back to try more food.

This place is your one stop shop for all of your coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and not to mention the healthy options at the salad bar. I ordered the egg & cheese croissant with turkey bacon, and I have to say I was not expecting the croissant to be this good. I was able to taste all of the flavors within the sandwich from the egg to the bacon and the greens. I also ordered a chocolate pistachio croissant for dessert to enjoy at home, Saj offers an abundant amount of seating, inside and outside as well as a private room for any work meetings you would like to have with your colleagues. This review has been sitting in my drafts since my first visit. I didn't want to post anything…read morenegative right away and hoped for a better second experience before sharing, so here's a more complete take. The ambience is absolutely lovely--spacious, clean, and very pleasant to sit in. The upstairs seating area is especially nice, with comfortable tables and chairs that make it a great spot to relax. They also offer a good selection of packed bakery items on display that look fresh and tempting, making it ideal for a quick grab-and-go visit. That said, the dine-in experience was let down by long wait times. I ordered a croissant and a falafel sandwich and ended up waiting significantly longer than expected, with little to no updates on my order. The ordering system--placing the order in one area and then waiting with a buzzer to collect before paying--felt somewhat inefficient, especially during off-peak hours on a weekday when the café wasn't particularly busy. In terms of food, the falafel sandwich was decent, while the croissant was just okay. Overall, the service felt slow and somewhat disorganized during this visit. I later stopped by just for grab-and-go items, and that experience was much smoother and quicker. Overall, the café has a beautiful ambience and fresh offerings, but there is definitely room for improvement in service speed and order management for dine-in items.

The ambiance with lovely. I had a coffee and it was delicious. My friend and I came for brunch and…read morethe food was tasty. Zero complaints about the service. As others have noted, it is pricey. It would be nice if the drinks were less expensive. A few things to note (and the only reason it's not a 5 star): - The website needs to be updated. I just wanted to peak at the menu, but there is no real website-- just a page that says it still hasn't fully opened yet, but it's been open for months. - When I clicked "order online" to try a different way to peak at the menu, that was also a dead end. Maybe just when I looked but either way, not great. - What made this place extra special and why it stood out from everywhere else in Ann Arbor was its late night hours. It effectively offered the only off-campus late night study spot (especially on Friday and Saturday, when the libraries and every other coffee shop is closed). I understand it's extremely costly to keep a business open when it's slow, but I hope it will go back soon.

I got there around 1:20 and they closed the buffet right at 2 - clearly eager to get out of there. The selection was good: I liked the fact that they had a standard green salad. I had some tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, butter paneer, and naan. I also tried bites of the aloo gobi and some vegan dish that I can't remember the name of but it was basically cauliflower and potatoes. I was a little disappointed in the dessert selection; I love gulab jamun and was hoping they would have it but all they had was a mango custard (it was good but I wanted something sweeter). All of the food was good bordering on great; my standards for Indian food are pretty high and this place met them. I thought the spice level was good - not horribly spicy but definitely had a kick to some dishes. Would have been nice to have a lamb dish but understand they have to cater to vegetarians too. The place itself is nice although the lighting was a little dark in my opinion. They were great about refilling water, clearing plates, and checking in. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Would return!

This was definitely a hit or miss experience for me. The Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was flavorful…read moreand really yummy, but the Shish Tawook Sandwich was very bland and dry. My biggest issue was with the Garlic Spread. I ordered a 4 oz portion, but since I weigh things each day it felt off. I weighed the container when it arrived and it was only about 3.2 oz. That's roughly 20% less than the advertised portion, which was really disappointing. I also ordered two pieces of Baklava. They were delicious, but the portions were very inconsistent--one piece was basically bite-sized while the other was a proper piece. Overall, the food had some highlights, but the inconsistency in portions was frustrating. Accurate portions matter to me, especially when they're advertised by weight, and because of this experience, I wouldn't order from here again.
