Apparently they have a very short growing season and they're quite expensive to purchase. They are delicious and oh, this pie did not disappoint! The fruit filling was plentiful and the berries were whole, not mushy or overcooked. Absolutely wonderful ! I generally dislike pie crust but this was a great crust, tasted good and even better, golden brown and completely cooked underneath! The cherry pie was much sweeter and had a strussel type top crust. It was delish also. I will be returning to Jillybeans for pie and to try other goodies. A tiny place that packs a big punch!

I opted for the pretzel brownie slice ($2.50). After paying for it, the owner asked if I had tried any of her cookies. I replied "no" and she handed me a freshly baked chocolate cookie for free! She was extremely friendly and personable (which is hard to gage these days because of masks). The cookie was delicious-soft baked with crispy edges. The brownie? Equally delicious!!!! Crispy on the outside. Soft and chewy on the inside. The combination of the saltiness from the pretzel and sweet chocolate well balanced. Needless to say..I'll be back

Gentle readers, here is one of those times when I debate... should I tell my amazing Yelp community…read moreabout this place or should I selfishly keep this place to myself? Alas, my better nature wins out. This is a booth in the historic Lancaster Central Market, which is well over 100 years old. It can be crowded so plan ahead if you visit for that. There are many merchants, including others who sell baked goods. I stopped at this booth because it was very well lit, and when I got there the person working there was polite and friendly. Now, to the good stuff: These cupcakes are very, very good and their decoration is second to none. We got the Apple Pie Cupcake, which has icing that looks like a pie with a woven top but is NOT FONDANT. That means it's delicious, and, fortunately, not overly sweet. The cupcake itself was spiced apple and was light and airy and yum. We also got a gorgeous rose cupcake, again, no fondant, a fun turkey cupcake and a peanut butter & chocolate cupcake because Lion loves them. Lastly, I got the most gorgeous decorated sugar cookie. It seriously was almost too beautiful to eat. When I did, the cookie was light and crumbly and delicious. Would I go again? Heck, yeah! I have learned that I can order online in advance and pick up at the market so I will be doing this, and some of the cupcakes may make it all the way back to Philly. Or not. Depends.
