The staff is sweet and upbeat and even though it's counter service, the staff checked on us a few times. They have a playground so the smaller guest can play while they eat. As for the food, it's classic taste give you State Fair vibes without the sticker shock . I went with the staff recommendation of The Bang Bang Burger. Classic burger topped with cheddar, fried onion rings, and chipotle on sourdough toast. I couldn't even finish it but I had to make room for dessert. The milkshakes are dangerously good and I loved the speciality versions. Don't worry you can work the calories off with mini golf after. There was a weekend, clearly this is a local favorite rush but the staff kept the line moving and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Sidebar it's hard to find small town gems and not worry about the atmosphere, I'm happy to report it was welcoming and the crowd was diverse. If you're in the area and need a place to stop relax and enjoy some good eats, put The Shack on the top of your list.

Unfortunately then we sat and waited about 10 minutes before anyone came over...while other people who were sat after us already had their beverages. After we finally ordered we got our beverages Food arrived and we were offered more coffee...our server who seemed to like to make a lot of noise when she showed up poured more coffee on the table than in our mug. Food was ok... My wife had Eggs over easy with toast home fries and bacon- one egg was broken which is a major pet peeve of mine. I had an egg white omelette with ham and cheese. Dry sourdough toast. We had a party of 8 and our server was awesome and didn't miss a beat. From the outside, looks small. On the inside, TONS of seating and comfortably as well! Ive had breakfast, lunch and dinner here before. The star of the show is breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes are great. Their cinnabun pancakes are incredible. Their homefries and and bacon rock! Don't tempt me with one of their omelets I could eat that all day. Country fried steak with gravy? Also top notch. We LOVE this place for breakfast. My wife's family visits from far away and always like to go here for breakfast. Keep up the great work! You are great for Manheim and a hidden gem for Lancaster County

I placed a reservation request in the morning, and they called me in the early afternoon to let me know there was availability, which was great. I appreciated the variety of 15 wines from which you could sample to create your tasting. My picks consisted of: -2020 Sauvignon Blanc -2020 Fusion (white) -2020 Cellar 1599 Riesling: Cellar 1599 is a Waltz label, for reference. -2018 Cellar 1599 Red Blend -2017 Baron Red I won't go into detail on my experiences with each wine, but I did have a glass (and then buy a bottle) of the Riesling. The tastings come in little tasting tubes that are basically test tubes. While some might find that unusual, I'm a science person, so I liked it! They also have a cheese board (choose one of four cheeses) with chocolate and crackers, which I added. The tasting room staff were friendly and accessible. It was a beautiful day and lots of families were out on the large lawn. Too bad there isn't a restaurant here, or it would be even more of a win. In any case, Waltz is a winner!

Easily one of my favorite PA wineries, and my preferred destination while in Lancaster County. To…read moreme, the wine here has more of a California feel to it - the reds are more dry, a bit more robust and rustic. The whites tend to be crisper, feature minerals and ease into the finish. You'll pay a little more than nearby wineries, but the difference in quality is immediately apparent. The estate tasting room itself is somewhat unassuming - nice, Tuscan-inspired, but understated. The room is smaller, with some spacing available near the barrels, but this isn't a "big tent" kind of place. If you'd like a seat inside, you may have to come off-peak or be patient. Guests tend to linger here, and it's often because of the at atmosphere. If not, the surrounding property is a nice place to enjoy your wines. There are chocolates, cheeses, crackers and very light, local creations available. I'd love for there to be even more food choices - these wines are designed to accompany a good meal. If you're okay going slightly off the beaten path, and paying just a little more for quality wines, this is the place to visit in Lanco.
