First time visiting Cunningham Park and I LOVE it! It's serene, clean, and refreshing. Basketball courts, baseball fields and tennis courts. Grills and tables for family and shindigs. The walkway is a decent size and people respect your personal space. There's ample parking across the street or in the parking lot. Children's playground. Public park in the middle of queens to go MTBing (Mountain Biking) is awesome. Best bet is to enter the park from the main entrance on 67th ave. The course is for all levels ... even kids ... The park is very well designed considering it's small footprint ... you can actually link to alley pond park (crossing a few streets here and there) as well but it's actually illegal to ride there. There are two sections in the park ... first loop is slower with alot of twists to extend the trail ... second section (access by crossing the bridge) can be as advanced as you like ... roll ... drop ... ride sum logs ... also a dirt jumping section ... get lost enjoy the park ... and pls don't litter! this place has gotten better and better ... lets keep it open and safe and clean :) read more

Beautiful place to spend your day. Free of the non-sense and hip folks who want to be seen, this park is a true gem. Clean and unpretentious Cunningham park is great for running or biking. Beautiful fields of green grass and huge amounts of space! You will often find people playing a friendly game of cricket! Be careful for people hitting golf balls illegally. If you are looking for a softball game on a Saturday or Sunday, Come here!! There are soo many fields to go to on 73rd ave. you can just find scrimmage games with almost anyone and your chances of finding one is great. It's like a Six Flags and you have so many fields to pick. I love coming here with a group of friends to find a pick up game. It's Softball heaven!! read more

I love the bike trails here. They do not have any major altitude, but you do not need to find a way to the mountains, you do not need to drive for hours. There is a green loop which is perhaps two miles total for beginners, then there is the blue/black loop, which breaks off the green. All told, to hit every trail, you'll probably ride about 7 miles or sort. The trails are well maintained, tight single track, with some technical features. A great place to work out, and a great place to learn. Not overly crowded, and the other bikers are very friendly. You have to be careful for the occasional hiker or dog walker, as though these are MTB trails, they are officially listed as mixed use. read more

It reminds me of Clove Lake Park in Staten Island. The playgrounds and playing fields are ample and the circus is nice too. A giant loop encircled the park, giving it a wide open space feel that you might forget about for a second until you notice the houses dotting the perimeter. read more

This park is big! Great place to walk, relax, baseball, & biking. We were walking on the historic Long Island / Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, which is a great trail for walking, biking, & jogging. It's a great local park. It's never crowded here. Parking is also easy. read more

I had a freakin awesome bike ride here today. There is a mountain bike trail here and it's pretty sweet. Bike down 73rd ave, make a left or right at 210 st pending on which direction you are coming from and the entrance is in front of 67th ave. There's a few different trails. I stuck with the easiest trail today because I didn't get a helmet yet. I took it slow, biked around the trails, busted my ass once, and took a few breaks in between. There weren't too many people riding. There were more kids smoking pot in there if anything but I assume that there's more people here on the weekends. I ride a Bianchi and the shocks made it very bumpy. It was pretty fun. For those who own a mountain bike, you guys gotta try it out. Next time I would spray some mosquito repellent before going in. I'm definitely coming back here soon and try out the more difficult trails. read more

Aside from Flushing Meadow, Cunningham Park is the only other park in the vicinity that allows grilling. For a person that doesn't have a yard and enjoys the great outdoors on a nice day accompanied by some nice bbq that's important. The benches can be reserved in advanced if you are planning a party but a lot of the time you will find people sitting at your bench anyway and then they give you a hard time about moving. Parks Department comes around every so often to make sure there aren't any incidents. The Police also patrol frequently as sometimes drunks at these gatherings can get out of hand. If you prefer to bring your own chairs and grill then it's your world. Just pick a spot and chill. I plan on returning in the summer for a nice family outing. read more

Attended an engagement party today at the Park. It's very clean and there's tons of space, lots of parking. We were able to barbecue. There were picnic tables there. And there's a public bathroom right near the area and parking lot. Great space. I would consider throwing a party here. read more

Only three blocks away from my house. This is probably the cleanest park in Queens, it's well taken care of and always under some new interesting development. Not to mention this is the location of the Big Apple Circus when it comes to New York City, besides Manhattan. Great views, many open grills, large field, many picnic tables, tennis court, home to tons of monthly events. Just a nicely groomed park for the family. read more

What an amazing park this is. So culturally diverse and always parties and music happening.

I used to run here, and I've had picnics here. This is a wonderful park. I like the excluded part off Francis Lewis Boulevard. One year there was a homeless guy there. I've come upon young lovers seeking seclusion. I ran and ran in there. Combined with Alley Pond, and Flushing/Carona, you can run a lot off the streets and away from traffic. Ditto for biking and walking. You can see teams practice. They're kind of strict about no BBQ here sometimes. But I love this park too. read more

Great park for picnics, jogging, having bbqs and even bringing your dog to the dog park.

Love this park especially in the spring and summer months. On any given day you can find people playing baseball, running around the track, kids playing at the playground etc. My favorites are the bocce courts and The Big Apple Circus when they're in town. It's a neighborhood gem. read more

Something about this park that always gives me a bad vibe. It's the public private tennis facility. The people are not very friendly to the point of just plain mean. I don't know what their problem is. I just bite my lip and let it go. Now the public side of the courts are fine. Now Alley Pond tennis is very welcoming. read more

I love this park! Some nice Geocaches are hidden here. During the year at concerts they have fireworks and other nice events.

This park and the connecting Alley Pond park are amazing, they make up the second largest park in Queens next to Flushing Meadows Park. In addition to the fields, and virtually unlimited features/ammenities my favorite part is the ultra quiet paved Nature Trail surrounded by unmanacured woodlands. They're open to walkers and bikers alike and is a great way to take in serene nature within city limits. Between the two parks there's something for everyone to enjoy. They're even flanked by Douglaston and Kinnena Golf Courses (to the East and West respectively). I found the parks to be clean and quiet and if I wasn't so far away I'd be more inclined to make many return trips. read more

This park is what I have been looking for in NYC for a while. I always went to parks looking for some makeshift trail to ride but now I do not look anywhere else because Cunningham Park is where its at. I am so grateful that some people actually decided to clear out some trails and keep it biker friendly. Different levels of difficulty make this place a awesome place for the beginner to the more experience rider. Wear a helmet! I see so many riders that just do not care about their head! The first plus is that I had somewhere to park my car, that can be an issue around other green spaces. When I run I do enjoy going around bc it's not as long as other parks, makes me feel like I'm actually getting somewhere lol. The tennis courts are also a plus and from my experience they have not been too crowded, I'm always able to find a place to play. They also have things like outdoor movies on the big screen when I'm feeling more sedentary. There are endless fields which are clean and I also noticed basketball and baseball spaces. I came to this park on a weekend during the summer. There were many people barbecuing and music playing. The park is huge and spacious with some much space to run and play sports. It is also a great location right off the highway. It is the Queens equivalent to Valley Stream park, except much bigger. read more

Cunningham park is a pretty nice area to be in, whether it's to just sit there and enjoy the air or to jog around and exercise. There is a lot of open space which makes it easy and fun to go hang out with friends and play sports. All the way in the back are basketball courts (not sure if that's part of cunningham or not, but still a nice place to shoot some hoops). It is also a nice area to have a picnic. read more

This park is right by my house and it's a great place to take a walk and relax. They always have events in the park too! Really great job on keeping it clean. They have a baseball field and a lot of grass to play on. I've been enjoying Cunningham Park for 35+ years, it is an amazing place. The wooded areas seem so incongruent with the NY metropolitan scene, but if you are a nature lover, you can keep your sanity because these large, wooded areas exist. The one bad change I've seen is how poison ivy has just totally encroached on the narrow foot trails in the southeast quadrant and has really made them inaccessible from mid-spring until well into the fall. Other invasive vines like bittersweet, porcelain berry, honeysuckle, English ivy, Japanese wineberry and multiflora rose have also twined across the trails and restricted movement. I'm sure in this day of budget cutbacks, Parks Department doesn't have a lot of $$ to maintain an area that few people utilize. But, if you love nature, check out these wonderful foot trails after the poison ivy has died back, you will not believe you are in NYC! read more
