I paid for my lab test at the clinic and later got a bill from the lab saying the invoice was never paid (meaning the clinic never paid them, even though I paid the clinic). I called and they said they were taking care of it. They asked me to send them my payment record because they didn't have a way of pulling it up themselves, which is wild. Months later I received another letter from the lab saying the bill still had not been settled and they were sending the payment to collections which would affect my credit score. They also sent me the incorrect imaging form multiple times. I needed an ultrasound and they sent me one for a mammogram. I flagged it and they sent me a new one but it still said mammogram. The info for what kind of imaging I needed came from them, so I really don't understand how they kept on getting that wrong. Just really poor attention to detail. It took multiple emails and calls just to get the right order. They also email you but don't check for your replies. I've had to call to follow up on emails. They also gave me the results to my imaging three different times. It was the same result, but somehow they hadn't recorded that they already gave them to me, so every several weeks they would call me to give me the same result. All of these issues stemmed from one visit if you can believe that.

For the contents of our conversation, it should have been a courtesy call. And I told her it was not a great time because a family member of mine was passing away. For her to still bill me for this conversation knowing that she did not offer me any medical expertise but just to tell me results I already knew is really disappointing and tells me this doctor only cares about money and not about her patients. Now the office won't do anything about the bill so I am writing an appeal letter to my insurance company. It's so ridiculous how you go to get preventative care only for doctors to find any way to bill you. I am never seeing her again and wanted to warn others.

The practice has become overly automated, making it extremely difficult to get in touch with staff or the doctor directly. Their website, which previously allowed messaging and appointment scheduling, has not been functioning for months. On several occasions I have had to go to the ER or urgent care simply because I could not reach my primary care doctor--who is supposed to be the first point of contact. When Dr. Emil was overseeing everything, the service was excellent; he is a great doctor. However, without proper access and communication, the quality of care is lost. I have since switched to another provider who is actually available to answer a call when needed. I hope this office can resolve these issues and return to the professional standard they once had, rather than continuing the current trend of being unavailable and overcapacity.

After I went to the hospital for stomach pain and came in to review my cat scan, they were at a loss for what could've caused the pain. There was really no follow up or treatment plan suggested. I also recently called when I was super sick and asked if I could come in and get tested for strep and mono and they said they don't do that there and to go to an urgent care. I'm very confused by a doctor's office that doesn't have the basic tests available to diagnose illnesses - It seems like this would be an integral part of the job. The last thing Is that they told me they could do an in-house breast ultra sound with their technician because I had had some irregular results in the past and didn't want to go all the way to Beverly Hills to see my regular breast doctor. She was wonderful at responding to my emails, and she made things so easy! They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again! How long had I been seeing them? Thomas was a doctor, a family doctor in the best sense, a doctor who was open to a relationship with his patients, and he would talk and listen to you as long as it took to get a good fix on the health problem that brought you to him. He would treat you then and there if he felt able, and if he didn't, he sent you to a doctor he had confidence in from experience to treat the problem. His telehealth conferences were just fun, reassuring, and useful. Two years ago, both Peggy and Thomas had to shut down their practice due to an illness. It was a Wednesday, I believe. I was to see them the next day. I haven't seen them since then, irreplaceable. That was the best healthcare practice ever in my life. I must have been their patient for over thirty years!
