Scheduled my annual AC tune up months ago. Got a confirmation text and email. Was supposed to be first appointment of the day. No one came. Called answering service and they had technician call me back. He said I was not on the schedule! Had no record of my appointment and he would not be able to come today. So now I have to wait till Monday for someone to call me back and reschedule my annual tune up for another time. Disappointing. My reply- yes you have always done my service on A Saturday as you have only one Saturday a month available. This was discussed in detail with the staff member who scheduled the appointment. She specifically said that the technician has a limited number of openings on Saturdays so we chose today together as an option. We also discussed replacing the rusted brackets for $75 fee. I have a stack of receipts throughout the years all performed on Saturday as that is my only day available. If your policy has changed, I should have been notified at the time of scheduling. read more

Had a complete Carrier system installed 5 yrs ago including all ductwork. 4.5 ton 22 sear system. We went with a PKG unit as to open house up larger inside. They have serviced this system at least 10 times for a multitude of problems of there own making. Wrong ducting to the rooms at each end of house (ie) 4 bedrooms. Hardly any air movement what so ever. We paid for 8 " ducts but got 6". The latest is it keeps popping a 5 amp fuse in the system, so they said the thermostat wire needed to be replaced ( which was supposed to be done at install of a COMPLETE install. My house is subfloor , wire is about 35' easy to do and they want 600 dollars. I'm done with Cunningham. PAY HEED read more

It was like pulling teeth to prove to them that I own my tank. Then, since the amount of propane I needed was below their minimum delivery amount, I was told to call back once I was below that threshold to schedule service. I called back to schedule service, and they lost the documentation that I had spent quite some time preparing for them. As we were trying to figure out the next steps, we were disconnected. I called right back, and was put on hold for about 10 minutes, before I gave up and called another company, who was able to promptly assist me. read more

I recently contacted Cunningham H&A regarding service repair on my system. The technician came promptly and, after 15 minutes, stated he could not fix equipment because of multiple issues. He stated he had calls backed up so he would return the next morning as a priority call. The next day came without a call for return. Upon reaching out to them, I learned that no return was scheduled and that they would not return. Most service calls are resolved with easy fixes, start/run capacitors, fuses, filters, and the like. I needed a seasoned technician, and it appears that their business model does not include spending time to actually diagnose and repair problems. POST SCRIPT. Many Thanks to the Cunningham team for their LP gas services that installed the underground LP gas tank for fueling our home's Generac generator. Giles Electric who we got the generator through, had recommended Cunningham. The tank supplied the fuel to power the generator giving us electric in our home from very early Thursday morning thru to mid-day Monday. I called for a tank refill Monday afternoon and they delivered and refilled the tank today, Wednesday. We're set for any future power outage. Terrible customer service. Had a technician out for AC issues and replaced the compressor. One day later AC not working again and brought in another company (Davis Bros) who did an amazing job. Fixed everything that wasn't fixed from Cunningham. Nearly 2 months later I get a bill from Cunningham with finance charges for not paying the invoice. All credit card information was given to the technician during the visit and written on the service ticket. Had to call twice to get everything resolved because they hung up on me the first time. Will never use again nor recommend. read more

Long time customer. New heat pump two years ago and tuneups every six month since. But when the heat pump breaks down during the hottest time of the year, no apologies and they want me to wait for two days to get it fixed. Worst customer service ever. read more

Paid the $144 bi annual cleaning service two years running. The first time they claim that I didn't ask them to do the second service, even though I did, I also have the email. So it was never done and they wouldn't allow it even a few days past the 1 year period. The second prepaid service year I tried to use the 2nd 6 month prepaid service after receiving the reminder card and whilst there they found something to fix, and yet they still somehow added a service charge of $72 to my bill. Well this long time customer (11years) feels fleeced, nickle and dimed, I am all done with this now, thank you. read more

Had recently bought a house but never met the former owners. The house had a lovely gas fireplace insert, and although I had a good home inspection team, there was no gas tank hooked up at the time of the inspection. Fast forward a year. After completing several more pressing home repairs, I looked into having gas hooked up to the fireplace. I called 4 companies for estimates. Two never showed up, one rep from another company came but didn't seem very thorough in looking it over--only saying that they "might not be able" to do a hook up for the fireplace. Justin from Cunningham came and he was the only one who took time to explain that they could not use the existing gas line to hook up the fireplace and in order to get the insert up to code, they would have to remove part of the brick hearth to pull it out, replace the line, and install a tank in a new location. Ugh. But he promised to return with technicians who could say for sure what they would have to do. And he did. Both of the technicians were also helpful, but agreed with his assessment. Long story short--I gave up on the gas insert and threw some candles on the logs. Not happy with how things turned out, but glad they were honest and took the time to look the system over carefully. All three were knowledgeable and professional and there was no charge for the inspections. At least I don't have to worry about carbon monoxide poisoning! read more

If you want to pay 35% MORE call Cunningham. I called Cunningham told them what needed to be replaced and asked them to send someone to replace it. They came and charged me $59 to confirm exactly what I had told them. The tech did no work. He got the model no and told me they would order parts and fix it the next day for about $350. The tech said they would use a cheaper motor to keep the cost down. The next day they said the total charge would be $848 "FLAT RATE ". I called a local HVAC dealer and got a quote for $620 for the exact same work. I called another local HVAC dealer and got a quote for $626 for the exact same work. OVERPRICED ! Do NOT call for diagnosis ! If you want to pay 35% MORE call cunningham. The parts quoted were exactly the same Carrier factory parts for the other 2 HVAC dealers. cunningham took the money and provided no service read more

Tried to sell me a painted used propane tank as new. When confronted, owner tried to justify their actions. Said it was a special coating making it better than new (paint). Sad bunch of lies... Use another company. read more

I called this morning at about 1030, was told someone would be at the house after 1 the office called at 1 and said they were on the way. The tech was professional and explained everything he was doing, he sent another tech out to double check and make sure he didn't miss anything. I would recommend this company to anyone read more

A/C went out in the heat of July! They had a repair guy out within two hours! Fixed and cooling perfectly now- would use these guys again!

I used to LOVE Cunningham and recommended them to others. We've had an ongoing problem and they have been patching us up until we can get an entire new unit installed. We've been faithful customers and they have been there for us every step of the way. However, during Hurricane Matthew, our AC died. I called to get in the repair queue and sure enough, the repairman called. He warned me that a Saturday repair would cost $25 extra. We agreed to pay it, but it seemed to me that, in the wake of a hurricane with a faithful customer, they could have foregone the fee. Am I going to buy my new HVAC unit from them? Not anymore. For a measly $25 they lost this customer. read more

We had to change our AC last year. Cunningham was very reactive and proposed a good replacement. They forced a bit the sale but nothing really surprising from this industry. Where we had issues is for the inspection. We had to make 3 appointments because the guy showed up outside the time frame agreed and Cunningham wants to charge us with an extra visit. I understand they are not doing their inspection but they have to manage their provider. I will have to find another company for my service as they are not being cooperative. read more

Ok you who live in Florida know just how important A/C is. Mine stopped working one evening, with a toddler with a fever that was only happy with their warm self laying next to mom. Thus begins my horrible night. I called Cunningham at 8:00 am sharp when they opened. Everyone I spoke to was nice and helpful. At 10:30 an ANGEL named Mike arrived to save my day. He worked diligently to find and fix my problem. By noon I was no longer living in a sauna. It was worth millions in my book but cost less than $300. I came to find this company through the recommendation of friends that have lived in town forever. They said they have used them for years and have always been very happy with their work. Oh and as my angel was leaving, he informed me that if there was a problem with in 30 days, there would be no charge for the service call. You don't see a lot of companies standing behind their work like that. read more

No stars! As a builder, renovator I was new to Daytona in 2005. I required an AC unit installed in a very small block home. I chose Cunningham's. They charged me $2600 for a 1 ton Bryant system t 9 years ago. I ended up buying the home and soon realised the unit was too small, after 1 year the small transformer went, then a few years later the compressor, after that the fan then the condenser. I would never get another Bryant system nor use Cunninghams for anything again. read more
