    Mango Lassi
    Manisha M.

I don't usually give out 2 stars but I think a lot could have been better in this place. I love Indian food and as an Indian, I think these could be improved to make it a better experience: 1. We ordered two mango lassi's. They were really dark orange which I found interesting, as it's not usually quite that dark, leading me to wonder if there might be food coloring added. But the taste was a 0/5. It felt like the yogurt in it had curdled or was spoilt! We did not drink these after the initial sips 2. The tandoori chicken was okay. It was "spiced" but none of the usual flavors shined in this dish. Tasted like grilled chicken at best. 3. The butter chicken, was very sweet. Now, traditionally butter chicken is slightly sweet but this just tasted too "tomato-ey" 4. The chicken Biriyani left us all yearning for more. Biriyani is such a beautiful rice dish, that's very flavorful and also usually spicy. I found that this was extremely bland and lacking a lot of masala that you usually find layered into the rice. Apart from these, we also ordered naan and rasmalai. The the sweet was exactly how it should be, it was wonderful and I give it 5/5. Hard to mess up naan, they were soft and buttery as expected. Overall, I would not return here. I understand there are not many Indian establishments around this area, but I wish that it was a more accurate representation of what the food should taste like to introduce to locals.

    Vegetable Samosa

I've been looking for an Indian restaurant in Grand Haven, and I'm pretty gosh darn happy that I found this place! I came in on a Friday evening about 7:30 and there was only one other table occupied. Grabbed a seat and ordered my drink.. heads up, Diet Coke comes in a can. The menu is pretty basic but has a lot on it. I ordered the vegetable samosas, naan and chicken Tikka Masala. Spice level ranges from 1-4 and I ordered a 2. Samosas come two to an order and were nice and hot but didn't have a ton of flavor. The sauce that came with them was really good though. Had there been salt on the table, I would have added it to t The chicken tikka masala was sweeter than I expected but quite tasty. The heat was slow to present itself, but i had a runny nose and sweaty forehead before I was done.. outstanding! I'll be checking out the buffet one of these days as well as remembering this for carry out.

    Great lunch buffet

Our Airbnb guide had this listed as a place to try and I hadn't had Indian food for a while, so my friends and I stopped by today for the lunch buffet. (And it's awesome that they do the lunch buffet on Sat and Sundays!) The only option for lunch is the buffet, I believe, and desserts and beverages are a la carte. The buffet is $12 which is reasonably priced. My favorite items on the buffet were the onion clusters (they have an actual name, but I'm forgetting it), the chicken tikka masala, and the naan, which was fresh and buttery, as well as complimentary (one batch per table). Everything was very tasty and I would definitely come back here again. It's located off of US-31 so it's not in the touristy part of Grand Haven, but is worth the 5 to 10-minute drive from downtown.

Tikka Marsala and butter chicken with naan

Great food. The flavors were everything I had hoped for. We had chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. The depth of spice rivaled some of the best curries I have had. The texture was spot on; creamy and delicious. We also ordered the fried onion and Potato appetizer. Crispy, flavorful, satisfying. The naan may have been the best I have ever had. A perfect amount of crisp!!! The portion sizes seemed small to me and the pieces of chicken were a bit large. With a small staff and very small dining area I might recommend take out. Yiu won't be disappointed with the powerful flavor packed curries here.

    Tikka Masala, Korma.

Great food, ample portions and friendly service. Our lamb dishes were so tender. The Corma is always delicious, and Tikka Masala. Other less familiar dishes we have tried have never disappointed us! Also, on a cold day, their Chai is an amazing hot comfort drink!

    Lamb vindaloo

The food was bad. Water lamb vindaloo. I don't normally leave a meal this one I did. It was not good and I would not recommend.

Lunch buffet with amazing naan served to our table.

The dishes are not as tasty as those in India and Japan. I got sick on their curry a few months ago and won't go back.

Fantastic Indian food. There must be something wrong with this town and why this restaurant isn't packed

I did find my Apple old fashioned a little sweet, and would have preferred a duck fat wash rather than an apple butter wash. I also found some un-dissolved sugar at the bottom. But that is my bad on the ordering. Would still come back just for the cocktails! Appetizer: We got the Brussels sprouts, and would recommend it. They offered a generous helping, they were very crispy and the blue cheese and honey was very complimentary. Entree: We got the ribeye to split. It was cooked very well, seasoned well, and came with really beautiful vegetables and mashed potatoes. The kitchen was very nice to split the 2 dishes as I shared it with my husband. We got complimentary bread service and a cucumber palette cleanser. The olive oil and garlic for the bread was delicious! We came on a Monday, but I saw that they offered live music on Fridays!

Only downside: the restaurant is connected to a bar and with live music at the bar it made it a little difficult to talk and felt distracting at times. We finally made it to Snug Harbor for lunch today. The weather was horrible but we had an…read moreappointment that took us out anyway so we stopped in to try the place out. And damn! It was so good that there are about 6 other items I want to try. We both had French Onion soup to start and it was pretty good. I'm definitely going to order it again. I had steak and frites - very tasty- the frites were worth eating every last one. My wife had Croque Madame sandwich - that was good too. The kettle chips that came with it are also worth eating every last one too. Service was outstanding and friendly.

Typically, I try to rate an overall rather than break down each individual aspect, but as you will…read moresee there were some wildly varying factors. Service: Nick - 5 stars. He was kind, efficient, and attentive. We made a reservation and were seated quickly. Ambiance: 4/5 - The ambiance was charming. Darker, quieter (they also weren't super busy at 6 on a Saturday which was surprising), and had tasteful decor. We sat next to the fireplace which was so lovely and warm. Beverages: They either jigger or short pour. Mine was tasty but needed a few more sips, his was interesting, but I would have expected his to come in a pint, vs a modified high ball (approx. 6oz with ice?) Food: Here's where it kind of fell apart. We ordered the bread plate (1/5) because I had gotten pasta as a main dish and it isn't served with any bread. Focaccia was good, but the pumpkin was burnt. Pumpkin isn't something I normally would eat, so I am letting his ranking stand. Also, wasn't a fan of either butter. He ordered the fish and chips (1/5) and the batter was definitely inedibly undercooked on the second piece. He picked out the fish from inside. The fries were standard. The pea stuff was interesting. I didn't mind it, but definitely didn't need a whole soup cup full. I tried the other piece of his cod and it was fine. My entree was the Seafood Tomato Alfredo. I'd say a heavy 4/5. Typically, I don't eat red sauce, and this was a very medium orange. My only complaint is that it could have used a teaspoon of sugar to cut the bitterness (as a person who doesn't eat red sauce). If you do, this is probably a 5/5 for you. The seafood pieces were plentiful and large, and the pasta perfect. Overall the food came quickly and was a generous portion. However, we probably won't be back to try it again as he was quite unsatisfied and would probably rate his entire experience a 1/5. For me, I'd give it another shot, but for the money, if we want a nicer dinner we would probably find somewhere else.
