WARNING: Devious hiring practices used at this establishment! My minor daughter and her friend, already employed at this location, were enticed with a bogus hiring promotion. They were told, if my daughter was brought in as a referral and maintained employment for three months, each girl would get a $500.00 bonus. After 5 months of working, neither girl had received the bonus! Every inquiry was met with an acknowledgment by management of the bonus owed but followed up with lies and empty promises. I believe my daughter was taken advantage of because of her age and I would encourage anyone considering employment with this establishment to get everything promised in writing before you work one day! read more

This place is the "Cadillac of Fast Foods" in the 21st Century. I travel to the Midwest a lot for business so I have been eating Culver's for years...and it's AWESOME. Now there are 2 new Culver's in the Tampa Bay area...this one and another one in Largo across the bridge. The one in Largo has not yet settled in...the food there is NOT up to Culver's standards...too greasy and not cooked enough...or cooked too much. But this location has it down perfectly...tastes just like the Culver's you get up in the Midwest. The Burgers and Chicken are the best of any fast food joint in the country these days. The french fries are better than everyone except maybe McDonald's. And the Ice Cream/Milkshakes just blow everyone else out of the water. The biggest problem you will have here is that it's just TOO darn busy! They are killing it in terms of business because it's sooooo much better than the McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger Kings of the world. Once you have to wait in line for this long...it ceases to be fast food. Of course when your biggest problem is that you are TOO busy and people like your food too much...not really a problem. I finally got around to stopping here on my way back to Pasco when I got off of 275 at the Bearss exit. I ordered a butter burger and some of there cheese curds. I was asked to pay and pull forward where they would bring it out to your car. The burger was just okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat one again. As far as the cheese curds I think they tasted like mini mozzarella sticks without the marinara. I don't see my self coming here again unless they turn it into an IN-N-Out burger!!! read more

It might be a Yelp sin, BUT I like fast food. So, I was excited to see the new addition of a mid-west fast food restaurant. I had not heard of Culvers, so I did a little research. It is a Midwest place, with some special menu items like cheese curds. This location is conveniently located on the corner of Bearss and Nebraska. Emilio M. would say it is next to the Blitzkreig paintball field. I was quite impressed upon entering Culvers. I did not know what to expect, and it struck me as an upscale fast food restaurant. There was the typical order at the front style, fast food way. However, I saw a difference in the set up of the place. There were many booths, and you received a number so that the servers could bring your meal out to you. Emilio M. and I both ordered one of the combos, with their signature butter burgers, while I got fries and he got cheese curds. I enjoyed having our food brought to the table, and not standing awkwardly at the the front of the restaurant. We both thoroughly enjoyed the burgers. They were different from the usual fast food patty. The cheese curds were a nice change, and the fries were good. I would recommend trying out Culvers. The food at this culver's location was cooked perfectly. I had a butter burger with cheddar cheese & all of the toppings. The burger was seared to perfection & the bun was also warm & crispy. The only downside to this burger joint is how long it took to get service & my burger. I waited 20 minutes in line & was told that the food would be another 20-30 minutes. The first time I went to this establishment my experience was less than stellar. It took them 15 minutes to make one order of cheese curds, and when I received them they weren't hot. I had to call the store from my phone just to get them to bring them out to me, so I believe they'd forgotten about my order. However, management reached out to me, apologized, and invited my boyfriend and I back for two free value meals. That alone right there showed me that their company values integrity and kindness. We ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger with fries, and a bacon cheeseburger with cheese curds. Both came on time and were delicious and hot. The staff came up to us and asked us about our experience this time which was stellar compared to the first. My boyfriend and I will be returning customers. Had the double cheddar with bacon. If you have never been here they cook to order so it is NOT fast , if you understand that going in you will have a better experience. I love the custard (it is not ice cream) it is always good. There house root beer is very good too. I am sad they stopped carrying fried chicken pieces they were my fav. Being a new building the restaurant was very clean and attractive. The staff was friendly. We placed our order at 7:55 pm and it was delivered to our table at 8:29 pm. I wouldn't call that fast food. However, the food was very good! We ordered the fried cod dinner and Ruben sandwich with onion rings. The cod was good, the slaw was excellent, the crinkle fries were good. The Reuben was very tasty however skimpy on the corn beef but reasonable for a "fast food" restaurant. The rings we real onion rings, not greasy but were cut thin. There was a line of cars around the building and through the parking lot for drive through pick up. Lots of cars in the parking lot, with plenty of parking. Will go back again but will make sure it's when they aren't packed and the young staff have gotten more experience. read more

Any average fast food chain. When we showed up around lunch time this place was packed. We had the buffalo chicken strips and ice cream cones. We sat outside to get away from all the noise inside. The outside seating isn't ideal because if you have a large group you cannot move tables together because these tables are cemented to the ground. We waited a while for our food and when it did come they did not have our ice cream cones so we had to wait another 15 minutes for those. Average service and the food was nothing special. I have no desire to come back here again, I've had better fast food ice cream else places. read more

Ordered a chocolate Oreo concrete mixer and was given a vanilla instead. When I told the employee that it was supposed to be chocolate they said they would go get the correct one. After waiting a few minutes they came back and said that since the first employee didn't take the mixer back from us that we would have to pay for the second one as well. The drive thru cashier even put it down as a salted caramel Oreo concrete mixer so the employee wasn't even close to what I originally ordered. I wanted to see what all the excitement was after passing by a few times and seeing the drive-thru always packed. I had never heard of Culver's before , so I was going in with no pre-conceived ideas. One thing that we did notice was the employees were taking their breaks in the dining room... About six employees were taking up three tables and one was pushing a broom around them so he could still chat... It seems that with it being so crowded, that they could find another place to be. So we are still waiting for the food.. We notice other tables are getting antsy with their orders not being delivered. To make a long story shorter, We waited 25 minutes for our fast food meal to be delivered! The burgers came out fine, but the Pot roast orders were freezing cold! We had to send them back, probably to be nuked some more. It took about ten more minutes to get these plates back and by then the manager delivered them to us. There was an apology and an offer of free custard, but we declined as we were just happy to get the food into our hypoglycemic bodies... The burgers are greasy but good, but not extra-ordinary. The cheese curds are fried balls of cheese and were not anything special. The pot roast could have been made at any high school cafeteria, so I was not a big fan. This fast food joint is surprisingly great. I would describe this establishment as an upscale fast food restaurant. The interior is very clean and nicely decorated. If you are eating in the restaurant, the servers bring your food to your table. The service is fast and efficient. They also have a drive thru and this restaurant is becoming very popular in the community. I have tried their Butterburger combos and concrete mixers. The food tastes very fresh and their fries are extra crispy. I really like how the burgers have gooey melted cheese. They are not too greasy and the meat is tender. The concrete mixers are so creamy, rich, and are not too sweet. I would describe it as a better version of a McFlurry. In the restaurant, they have a freezer full of pints and quarts of their famous custard. If you're in the Tampa area, you should definitely try it! Their buttergurgers are one of the best fast food chain burgers ever. They're are always juicy and filled with flavor, never a bland bite. The ice creams are great and creamy but be careful as to eat them quickly since they melt kind of fast. You can get two mix-ins for free and they have everything from fruit to candy. Hubby did the fast food deal for lunch and got us something at Culver's. He said the drive thru was ridiculously backed up so he chose to park and go inside. He couldn't believe how large the menu was. I had the butterburger with American cheese and French fries. The fries are crinkle cut and had a great taste , they were salted perfectly and were not greasy at all. Best fast food fries I have had in a long time. The burger on the other hand was just okay. Bun was fresh and had good taste but the beef patty was really thin and slightly overcooked. I didn't think it had that much flavor and just wasn't that special. My husband ordered the fried fish plate with French fries and coleslaw. I tried the fish and have to say it was actually really good. The fish was cooked perfectly and not greasy at all. The coleslaw had a little to much mayonnaise but all in all was pretty good. I would definitely eat there again and they deserve 4 stars for sure. Oh.. I'm from Wisconsin originally so it's great getting to come to a place that feels like home where the food is cooked fresh and to order, everyone is polite, and seem to genuinely care about every customer. This is by far my favorite fast food restaurant and I'm so glad they started opening some south of the Mason Dixon Line. I don't think I've gotten anything but the Butterburger basket (with the works), but I'm very partial to their concrete mixer with vanilla ice cream, fudge, peanut butter, and brownie bits. If you like chocolate and peanut butter, I bet that if you get it, you will be thanking me for the suggestion. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I try to limit myself to 2 a week. I think the hours on Yelp are wrong though. They're only open until 10 pm every day (not 10:30). read more

Culvers is awesome, and a place I'm so glad that we finally got. Originally I experienced Culvers in Cape Coral, Florida, so again I was excited when they came to Tampa. Now I hope they move to Brandon (it's 20 minutes closer). Having said that I will continue to drive to Tampa to get their food until they consider my city. Anyways, the burgers are so great and cooked very thin. The onion rings are perfect, not over battered, and just such a fantastic flavor. The cheese curds! My Lord, the cheese curds! A fast food place with selection a great concept. From pot roast, prime rib, fresh battered fish, pork tenderloin, Reuben sammiches, burgers, onion rings, cheese curds, custard, malts, you name and this place fries it up. Good was delicious in the old fifties style of of dining. Battered fish was light and fresh but the grease ran down my beautiful wife's arm and my double butter bacon cheeseburger did the same. I also ordered a chocolate malt shake that they make with frozen custard. After trying this with custard I gotta say I prefer my shakes with ice cream. This malt was too sweet believe it or not and the texture was best described as "slippery". So if carbs and calories and cholesterol are not a concern to you and just good old Fashioned comfort foods are what your palate is calling for than Culvers is our new hot spot. The double butter burger is by far one of my favorites. The good news is I can eat half and share my other half with someone who wants just a little more.
