Can't get the order right to save their lives. If you order for more than 3 people they are guaranteed to mess everything up, my burger was a single when it was supposed to be a double, my soda was just carbonated water, and they won't label a damn thing so you're stuck taking every messed up burger apart trying to figure out who's is who's. Ordered a double burger w swiss, lettuce, tomato and pickles...took a seat and it was delivered...looked go took a bite and no lettuce, tomato or pickles but some grilled onions....brought it to the counter and they "rushed" a replacement- cheese was not melted - just placed on top and the burger was cold - last time I visited a Culvers was about 20 years ago until today. We have eaten at many Culver's in the past all across this country and they've been fine. Unfortunately our experience tonight at the Spearfish location was not good. We stood at the front counter for 5 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. One female employee saw us, didn't say anything, and left to clean off tables. Then another man saw us, didn't say a word, and kept bagging food and took it to a drive thru customer. He finally took our order after another lady who was camped out at the front counter with her very young baby on a blanket on the front counter told him to(was she the manager?). The male employee was polite and answered our questions. I ordered the double butter burger with cheese. When it arrived the patties were very dry and lukewarm at best. The bun was hard as a rock on top and the cheese was not melted. Honestly, the whole thing was gross and I wondered how long the patties had been sitting out, but I was so hungry I took the bun off and ate the patties and cold cheese. My husband ordered the sourdough melt and it didn't seem fresh off the grill. The sourdough bread wasn't good quality and the cheese was not melted. The fries were barely cooked and definitely not hot. After this experience, it is obvious the overall customer service, quality of food and preparation has sadly deteriorated at Culver's. We both decided that we will not be back. read more

Use the drive-through. Waited several minutes to place my order at the front, but was ignored until I interrupted an employee and asked if I could order. I was the only one inside, so I guess they just prioritize the drive-through. Concrete mixer wasn't very well mixed, as you can see the caramel all in the same spot. The service was great, the food was great....but there was a large problem that requires middle management attention and perhaps should go straight to the CEO......who do I have to talk to to get a larger spoon? Specifically the bowl of the spoon (we used the google to look this up) is (much) too small to hold the contents of the concrete mixer. One of us (who shall remain anonymous) spilled twice and clearly this was the fault of the minuscule spoon size. We planned to go straight to Craig Culver himself, but decided the best way to get to the top is through Yelp, as we did not want to downplay our frustration. read more

My spicy chicken sandwich was undercooked. I took it back and they were nice enough to remake it. However they put mayo on it the second time (mayo doesn't come on it). I took that one back and asked for a new bun with the lettuce and tomato. They kindly enough brought it to me. However, the girl carried it to me wearing the same dirty pink gloves she touched everything around her with...in fact I saw one employee clean the tables and not change gloves, then go bag food. Worst Culver's ever. I ordered 2 ice cream items. After they took my order in the drive thru, the gal never said anything else. I waited and waited for her to say something and she never did. I asked multiple times if she was still there, still no answer. We get up to the window and they tried to give me someone else's order. I had to order again. About 20 minutes later my order finally came and everything was wrong. I told them just to refund my money. Their Asst. Manager Harley comes to do the refund and he is chewing me out. I told him to shut up and just give me my refund. Traveling from out of town, I relied on other reviews of this place since it was close to my hotel. I called to see if they did take out and the employee was more than happy to help me get my order together. The fried chicken was great, the coleslaw fresh, and the service was excellent. I gave Culver's - Spearfish 5 stars, because you cannot beat it for a chain burger place. The food is really fantastic (on the fast food scale), and I have always been especially impressed with the service at this location. It's seriously worth the price difference between Culver's and other fast food restaurants. When dining in, the food is brought to your table, and it has a nice, clean atmosphere. Culver's serves Pepsi and their own root beer. I love the crinkle fries and cheese curds. They are also known for their frozen custard. Enjoy! read more

I would defiantly eat here again. I am very picky with fast food but this place is good. Although they could do better I have had worse. I guess the thing that gets me the most is the lack of a better condiment service station, only one on hand could use another one at the other end of the place makes it hard to use when they are busy and far away from your table. read more

I have lunch on average once or twice a month at this Spearfish Culvers. They have great food and reasonable prices. Most importantly the customer service is excellent and even when they have a full house the cooked to order food still gets delivered in a reasonable time. On December 3rd I witnessed an intense situation and after speaking with my wife I decided to write this review. A customer and the young lady taking her order had some confusion at the counter, sitting at one of the tables closest to the registers I was able to see and overhear most of it. The woman got really upset and the clerk apologized and finished the order. The woman sat down and came back to the counter and proceeded to throw a "fit". Three things I would like to say about this, 1- I did not see nor hear anything unproffesional from the young lady who took the order, 2- the manager did very well at speaking calmly to this woman trying to alleviate the situation, 3- this woman was out of control! Never does anyone deserve to be spoken to the way she was with such disrespect. She kept going on about her autistic son and he doesn't deserve to be spoken to the way the young lady had- I never saw the employee speak to the boy as he wasn't at the register, only to the woman. This woman kept asking for names and explanations and wouldn't wait for an answer before continuing to yell at these poor employees. To sum up I'm writing this review hoping that those involved know that from a customers view point they did everything right and so that if this woman writes a review then the public has another customers opinion.
