Culver's is such a great fast food place (maybe even one of my favorite fast food chains). In particular, I think they have top tier sides/appetizers aka the onion rings, fries, etc. Their chicken tenders are also solid and I'd get all those again. Food is always decent, but service today was an absolute joke. Defiantly not up to the standards that I know the owner is looking for, considering he's taken care of us in the past. The gal at the counter, long brown pony tail, refused to greet myself or my kids. Just gave me a blank stare until I was so uncomfortable I started ordering. The other lady who dropped off our food was rude and unfriendly. Our order was wrong, and instead of just fixing the burger, I was asked "if you wanted it plain what did we put on it??" My husband stopped by the location Sunday morning and order two double cheese burger meals with bacon. When he returned home and we went to eat there was a long black hair in my box, which partly was stuck in the melted cheese and included even the person root attached. I was absolutely disgusted and wasn't going to eat it. My husband cut his burger in half to share since we didn't have any other food option at the moment. Then after I had take a few bites of my hamburger I noticed ANOTHER hair. (This is the second burger at this point) This time it was half way smashed in the meat and half was out. It resembled a pube. I have pictures of both. At that point I become sick. We began to wonder if it was intentional since both burgers had hair in them. It's a comedy routine in here. There's visible employees but no one's leading. Everyone's beating to their own drum in lala land. Employees here do not work together but against one another and there's no team work. I've never been to a Culver's that runs like this. It's highly disappointing. I always hate giving these 1 star reviews, but this Culvers leaves me with no choice. I stop here about once a week, only because I work nearby. Somehow, just about every single time I come, there is one specific employee who manages to screw up my order every time. I used to lot be this Culver's. The staff used to be on top of their cost need service. We frequent this place multiple Times monthly. Seems are visits over the last have ended with order takers not paying attention when we are ordering, resulting in orders that are in correct, every single time. Ordering frozen custard after ward and forgetting about us. Finally this last visit, order was wrong again am then when we ordered our custard the inconsistency in servings was ridiculous. Two orders of frozen custard, one looked like it had a half scoop tossed in bowl while the other look as it usually does. You try to explain to two kids why one has more "ice cream" than the other when they ordered the same thing. Time to get a new Culver's! I've been many times and have always been met with silence when I had them my card and say hello or thank you, completely rushing and interrupting as I place my order over the intercom, that guy needs a day off or something. He was an ass. Or the occasion I've come in and the gentleman taking my order gets side tracked probably 95% of the time because of employees and friends being there causing noise and acting immature as others are trying to order food. I usually like Culvers however, we decided to try out the new Culvers in Fox Lake. We walked in and the first thing I noticed was the place was spotless. We were also warmly greeted by a couple of high school kids. The young lady that took our order was very nice and courteous. My problem started when I got my meal. I seen the sign for a new burger called the Pretzel Haus Pub Burger. It looked good so I thought I would try it. They claim the burger is two burger patties on a pretzel bun with pickled red onions, slice of cheddar cheese, another cheese sauce, and a german mustard. My burger had no cheese sauce at all. I expected the onions to taste vinagarey but they tasted real sweet. It was gross. I had to pull the onion off. There was a slight hint of the german mustard but it was a very thin layer hardly visible spread on the pretzel bun. I ended up just adding my own ketchup and yellow mustard to make it tolerable. Again, I usually like Culvers, but I would stick to the standards like the original butter burger. I also really like the Patty Melt, the Pot Roast sandwich is really good and my favorite is actually the Cod fish dinner. It comes with cole slaw a dinner roll, and a side of fries or onion rings, or fried cheese curds. If they would make a regular burger and put it on the pretzel bun, now that would be good. read more

I just had the worst experience ever at Culver's in Fox Lake. Waited 30 minutes for a butter burger and onion rings. I made the mistake of using the drive through. I was parked in the waiting line and saw car after car receive their order before me, even though I placed mine before them. I finally went Inside and they told me the hang up was with the onion rings. Finally received my food, went home and of course my burger was cold and it appeared be be stepped on, flattest bun I've ever seen. I just left there. Bought a fish dinner. Asked specifically for tartar sauce. Didn't get it. Didn't get cutlery for my dinner. They forgot my cheese curds. I grabbed that before I left. We had a late night crave for a snack and a cold treat. Mostly high school kids working here, friendly, but a little boisterous behind the counter and kitchen - close to closing time, I get it. Maybe I haven't had Culver's for a long time, or maybe it's just this location.... but, the food and dessert quality was total garbage. The double butter burger I had was a complete sloppy mess with synthetic-looking bacon. The fries were bland and nearly tasteless - what a waste of carbs. The caramel sundae came out half melted and soupy. The chocolate "shake," even after asking for it to be remade, had the consistency of room-temperature marshmallow fluff and was waaaaaay too sweet, gross. I should have taken pictures, oh well. I'm not sure how this place is successful, maybe I just don't enjoy their offerings or understand them. Total waste of $20... but, I may consider trying a different location, someday, just to be sure. read more

They used to be good but not any more. Food is always cold when you get it home. I live five minutes from there and after I microwave it for ten seconds it's cold cheese isn't even melted. Did not get our Freshman's Night discount and all I got was " sorry, I wish I could give you back your money" Of course you can! She blamed it on the other girl for not telling her about it. The other girl just shrugged it and "oh well, never mind". They could have made it right and offered a scoop of ice cream or a soda, even a coupon. On top of that, we did not get straws, also did not get our coleslaw. I get it you're new but teach your team not to blame other team members in front of the customer, and if you are going to point out your staff member's mistake, don't let the customer hear it unless you are going to actually do something to correct your mistake. If your dog it's in the car with you, they have treats for them at the pickup/pay window. While the line was above normal long, the wait to get food was about average.
