This local town pub starts your table off with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn to get that salty fix we all desire before indulging in an ice cold beverage. Their menu includes everything from burgers to seafood specialties. My sister gobbled up their shrimp tacos that were bursting with flavor! As for myself, I devoured their wings, as they came out hot, crisp, and spiced perfectly without having to drench them in sauces. For the first time, I brought my pup with me to enjoy sitting outside - who then proceeded to entertain fellow diners along with their live musician. My Frenchie took pictures with town residents, had a young customer take him for a walk, and even got a selfie with our waitress. Everyone treated him like a celebrity! Casual, extremely friendly, and great tasting food sums up a hometown experience you shouldn't pass up! Keep popping GROVE! No cliques here. The owner greeted me immediately with a hug. It was about 7Pm and this place was packed. The bartender immediately asked what I wanted to drink and within a minute a tall glass was sitting in front of me. The chefs were working so hard fixing nonstop orders of fish, fries, burgers, and tater tots for the most part. They were moving like a conveyor belt with the orders. From the time I arrived, until I left, not one order was messed up. All the staff are pretty friendly and just awesome overall. Don't expect long conversations if you're looking for liquor paid psychiatrist work while Friday fish orders are being filled. I had the baked cod (was always my favorite) and the first time the walleye with the broccoli crunch and tater tots. Walleye reminds me of catfish. Omg, everything was a 100 out of a 10 to be honest. Coming out of a dive tavern, yes. Everything had the right crunch or the perfect flakiness. Loved it. Friday Fishfry is the bomb here in my opinion. They do have a pool table, jukebox, and a couple of TVs.

Everything was great about this place and the hype is legit!…read more First off, the parking is great! A nice big free lot across the street. No need to find street parking. We walked in on a lazy Sunday post the lunch rush, around 2. I forget what burger I got, but it did not disappoint. Everyone who has said I need to check it out was tight. It was very good. The burger was flavorful and juicy. The toppings were fresh and the fries were tasty. Everything was great! I returned with my burger club and most guys liked it however, some got the burgers that had so much going on that your taste buds are in over drive. Just stick with a build your own burger and avoid all the crazy toppings and you'll love it.

We were in the area strawberry picking and wanted to find a local place for lunch. Based on Google…read morereviews, we chose DC Cobb's. I'm glad we didn't skip this place based on the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown McHenry and next to the river. I highly recommend sitting in the enclosed patio. It's spacious, full of tvs, and has a nice view of the river. You can tell based on the menu and confirmed by our server, burgers are their thing. All kinds including beef, bison, chicken, turkey, veggie and fish, some choices are an up charge. The burgers come with a side, some have an up charge. Our server mentioned everything is made in-house. I feel it's a rarity of restaurants to made their food in-house so it made me excited for the food. Everything is reasonably price. I opted for the BFM burger and pickle chips ($2 up charge). The burger was juicy and well cooked. Their burgers are 1/2 lbs so it was big. The pickle chips were crunchy and really good. Portion was huge and worth the up charge. My lunch partner chose Cajun fries and they were crispy and flavorful. Our server was great! She was so nice! One negative, they allow dogs and many people brought their dogs. Since the space is enclosed, I did not like all the dogs while I was eating. It was tricky leaving since the hostess stand is located in the tight entrance and there was a dog right in the doorway. My lunch companion is deathly allergic to dogs. Luckily this dog owner was considerate and moved their dog so we could pass. Other than all the dogs, we enjoyed our meal and would come again.

(Looks like someone else commented about the sink a month ago... still broken) The signs on the window are all handwritten and the decor is very basic but the floors and tables are nice and the place is very clean! They do have a high chair available to use. I wish they had a fountain drink machine. You have to buy cans. The prices are decent for what you get. There is only one table that has more than one seat. There are four two seater tables which you can probably push together and seating by the bar. The guy who took our order says this place has been open for about six months (Feb 2023?) I ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich. It was pretty good, I did not care for the bread... I bet it would taste better if the bread was toasted. I would order something else next time. My husband ordered the lemon pepper wings... he says they are the best wings he has ever had (and he eats a lot of wings) he just wishes they had blue cheese dipping sauce as an option... he says he is not a fan of ranch but this ranch was still very good. If we are in the area again we may stop in and dine here again!

No menu on the walls, just a couple of paper menus. I had a Rocket Burger combo which is a cheeseburger and fries. I was underwhelmed.
