Food was worth the "wait". Service was slow but they only had 1 server for a party of 25 people.

terrible food, I was sick after eating a threw up at the bar. the manager did absolutely nothing to assist us and were very intimidating and angry. As a McDonough Medical professional, I can choose any where for an outing, this was by far the most DISGUSTING food I've eaten. read more

I hate to give bad reviews but this place was horrible in every aspect: bad service, bad food, and bad attitudes from everyone. We had a table of 10 people and it took nearly 2 hours to get our food, and they literally only brought out a few plates of food at a time leaving everyone else without food. It also took forever to get drinks since the rude bartender was also waiting tables. There was only a few tables with people when we arrived, so it should have never taken so long to get our food. The worst part was the food was NOT good. The fried chicken, ribs, pork chops, and porterhouse were overcooked, zero seasoning and zero flavor. Even a simple burger was awful. The only thing that was slightly tasty was a few appetizers, which were clearly from a food supplier not homemade. Yet even the appetizers came out one at a time and took nearly an hour to receive. read more

This particular spot is a hidden gem. The staff is fine and friendly. The food is outstanding, and the drinks are on point every time. The ambience is awesome. Karaoke night is lit. I definitely recommending trying this new spot. read more

Mannnnnn!!! I visited here for lunch with a friend and to my surprise they automatically add 18% gratuity to my bill. It doesn't matter how many people are with you. The food was pretty good. I learned a valuable lesson because my receipt was not shown to me. I received a text with the total on it after I paid. I actually double tipped her because I did not get a hard copy or know that the gratuity was included. Moving forward I don't care if I go to the gas station I want a receipt from the pump and the cashier!! . Really this has taught me to stay my behind home and cook, then I won't be blindsided out my money! Or as soon as I walk in the door ask what is gratuity and if gratuity is automatically included no matter the party size. Oh oh oh, let me not forget that if they have a band or some kind of entertainment there will be an additional cover to your bill!!! Well I hope this helps. In this inflation all my coins count and I want to spend them how I see fit. And for those who think I'm a horrible tipper, I'm not, it's the principle for me. I believe in tipping, I just like to be informed. They need a sign at the road and the door saying " we charge 18% gratuity for walking in" . Be blessed! read more

I'm giving this place the praise that it deserves although it was a little pricey the food was extremely good. The service was amazing and I will definitely go there again . I'm so glad that there is a restaurant that is right here close by and I don't mind taking visitors read more

Another birthday celebration! We were a party of 6 plus a baby. We were seated immediately which was a plus. The inside decor is simple but nice. There's a beautiful water feature on the patio! Our waitress never shared her name but she was honest about our food selections. It was happy hour so the birthday girl and I ordered a drink. She seemed to like hers but I never received mine. The menu is vast and I had a hard time making a decision. I ordered my namesake dish, the Nikki Chicken. Our food finally arrived an hour after being seated and it was delicious! The Nikki chicken did not disappoint, the yams weren't overly sweet, and the dressing was Thanksgiving table worthy! At the conclusion of our meal we needed to go containers which we received timely but we had to wait a long time for our bill. I thought I took pictures of our food, but I was too hungry and then in a hurry to get home to prep for work the next day. I will return, the food is that good!!! read more

Food and service was awesome enjoyed everything. Teron was great with the service I recommend him.

Had an event nearby so I decided to stop by this place to eat. Walked in and saw the please wait to be seated sign, everyone (workers) stared and no one even said hello or gave a greeting as I patiently waited as if I came in for something else. Finally someone came and sat me at a table that was right next to another table with screaming kids. Come to find out the kids were one of the workers kids...running around and screaming in the restaurant. Finally got my food and horrible, the mash potatoes were watery as if it had been boxed. The salad had frozen vegetables (tomatoes and cucumbers) based on the water in the salad. My drink came after I ate and the waitress apologized for it. She was kind yet this place needs a huge uplift with customer service and food representation and taste. Also food was brought out and when I asked for utensils the guy looked at me like I was crazy. I think there's room for easy improvements. Most times it's the simple things that means the read more

Our first time at this restaurant and I must say the decor, ambiance, food and most of all the service were exceptionally on point. Dashia as I like to say "1st Impression" of the establishment immediately was attentive and professional. I looked around felt this would be a great experience. My dish Honey Glazed Salmon collard greens and broccoli were delicious. Salmon perfectly cooked and sides wonderfully seasoned and flavorful. I also enjoyed the variety of old school R&B music /videos they were playing. First time impression is important and I'm glad this black owned establishment delivered. We truly need this type of business on the southside and I will be back to support. read more

Lamb chops, spinach dip and mixed drink were great, I highly recommend. The service was 9 out of 10.

We tried the salmon bites, wings, fries and side salad. Everything was underwhelming, even the drinks. The atmosphere is cool but the food is not seasoned at all. read more

Food was soooo good! The lamp chops were heavenly. And the service was great as well. There wasn't blasting music so we could have actual conversation which was so nice. read more

It appears nice from the outside but there was food on the sidewalk which was gross. Inside seemed nice until we got this RBF hostess to seat us and said Yay would be serving us this evening. Yay started off good greeting us took our drink and app order. We ordered the southwest egg rolls and was thinking wow our app came before our drinks. That's different. The egg rolls were tasty and the flavored lemonade could have been a bit sweeter. I asked the Yay for some napkins and never brought them out. She went and sat with the customer in front of us for a while. I had to walk up to the bar to get the napkins myself. We also ordered the fried chicken wing meal with Mac and cheese and the stuffing with gravy and cranberry sauce. Husband ordered the same except he opted for the collards instead of the Mac and cheese with a side order of the cornbread muffin. The food came and looked delicious. Yay then came back with plastic utensils in a bag. Wow so y'all don't have real silverware??!! What ever maybe they are on a budget. Our stuffing was supposed to come with gravy and it didn't. I had to ask for it. I also asked for Tabasco she brings back Louisiana. Yay said this what folks called Tabasco. I tried to explain that Tabasco was Tabasco she's like the kind you get at Chipotle. I'm saying to myself lady I don't eat at places like that I don't know what they serve over there. I told her forget it. It took us a good 10 mins to get the gravy to go with the stuffing and that came cold. Everything was tasty the cornbread muffin was hard as a rock. We may come back just for the food as a takeout but the not a good ambiance for the price they charge and tasty food they serve. Staff is very important as well in this business. Having a smiling face greeting you and attentive waitresses and waiters that aren't sitting down most of the time to talk to folks would attract more people. A clean entrance is a must. Respectfully if you would like a recommendation please DM me. I'm here to help. read more

Amazing, authentic Thai food packed with wonderful ingredients made fresh and so delicious.

After a morning of hitting a couple of farmer's markets in the DcDoungh area, I decided to stop in with my mother for brunch on Saturday. We were greeted immediately, the place was very clean and had a nice vibe. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my mother ordered the garlic wings with fries. We both enjoyed our meals and I will return the next time I'm in the area. read more

Order the day before if you want you food the day of. Slowest service I ever ever experienced

I ordered the chicken wings and waffles. The chicken wings were deliciously seasoned. The waffles were nice and fluffy, topped with butter and served with syrup. Serving size was excellent. I recently went for a birthday dinner and it was nice. The service and atmosphere were great. The food was okay; no one at the table raved about their meal. Everyone loved their drinks. The atmosphere and server were great. It took a long time to get my food. The food was hot. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffle looked and tasted like an eggo waffle and chicken wings had very little meat. Overall, it was an average meal. read more

Not great food. I'm guessing they had some folks for brunch because they still hadn't cleaned up afterwards. But anywho everyone seemed friendly. Our waitress definitely was. I didn't like that they include a tip automatically but then your waitress explains that they have to split that with everyone we felt obligated to tip more because she was sweet. I personally don't like feeling obligated to give more just because I really liked one person. Especially when I liked the waitress more than the food. Our waitress is the only reason why I'm giving 3 stars. I don't remember her name but, whoever she is she's the real MVP. read more

Amazing food and service! It was so good that a picture never even crossed my mind! Definitely the best food on the south side and black owned business! I will definitely be a supporter and I can't wait to eat again. Everything was amazing great quality and quantity for the prices. I had catfish fried well, macaroni and cheese and potato bliss, which was also blissful and chicken wings and waffles. Everything was just on point can't wait to go again this week! The only thing I will have to say, that I did not like is that they add 15% gratuity automatically to your receipt and there are no signs and no one tells you so we had tipped extra not realizing it only because we asked for a receipt. Because they also show you the receipt on the computer they don't necessarily give you one to look at. so for right now I will give them five stars but if I don't see a change from that, I will definitely knock it out. I'm gonna chalk that up to new business. Haven't thought about it category! read more

Me and my son decided to stop my Culturistic Kitchen for dinner today, 10/01/2024 and it was a complete waste on our time. The "only" service we encountered was from the hostess at the front door. We were seated and that was absolutely all was done. We waited 45 minutes and NOBODY came to the table to speak, take a drink or food order. We just sat there waiting until I decided I REFUSE to give my money to a restaurant that DO NOT attempt to take it. Damn, just close your business if you don't want to serve. This is my third time coming to this restaurant and the food is amazing, but damn do better with your employees or hire more. If you don't have enough people to work, close! This experience was disrespectful. We wasn't the only people that WALKED OUT. They were walking out in groups. read more
