Visited on a Tuesday after work and I had a great experience with my boo! We elected to sit at the bar and Ryan was our bartender. She was very attentive and such a pleasant woman. I ordered and devoured the shrimp fettuccine pasta which was served expeditiously. We didn't wait a long time at all for our food. Unlike most places, the shrimp was huge and there was plenty on the dish. The Black Stallion Pinot Noir was also really good despite me not pairing the wine with the dish I ordered. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. I plan on returning specifically on a Wednesday to listen to live music. Go check it out for yourself! read more

My husband and I decided to visit this restaurant for our 14th wedding anniversary after receiving a recommendation, particularly because it is a Black-owned business. As a well-known Black business owner myself, I am always excited to support fellow entrepreneurs in our community. The beautiful ambiance and décor gave me high hopes from the moment we walked in. Unfortunately, our experience quickly went downhill. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated, but there seemed to be a lot of confusion despite there only being about eight guests seated in the dining area and five patrons at the bar. There were also three servers on the floor. After being seated, the host returned to clean our table after realizing it had not been properly cleaned before we sat down. After reviewing the menu, we waited approximately 20 minutes before anyone approached us. Eventually, another employee stopped by and asked if we had been taken care of. When they discovered we had not, a server was sent over to take our drink order. I asked about the Elderberry Cucumber cocktail and was simply told that she had never tried it and that everything in it was listed on the menu. My husband ordered a Woodford Reserve neat, and the server informed him it was showing as unavailable in the system even though they had it in stock. She said she needed a moment to have it corrected. She then disappeared for another 20 minutes. Not once during this entire time were we offered water or given any update regarding our drinks. Trying to remain patient and extend grace, I continued to admire the atmosphere. However, things took a turn when I looked up and saw our server walking out from the back kitchen carrying food ann open plate meant for customer and a to-go order while actively eating herself. At that moment, several concerns immediately came to mind: 1. Focus was clearly not on serving guests. 2. Safe food handling practices appeared to be disregarded. 3. Basic hygiene and health precautions seemed to be lacking. As someone who understands customer service and hospitality, watching a server eat while handling food and serving guests was extremely off-putting and unsanitary. At that point, my husband and I decided it would be best to leave. We gathered our belongings, and the server finally rushed over. I politely informed her that we would be dining elsewhere. Rather than asking if there was a concern or if anything could be done to improve our experience, her response was simply, "Okay, have a good day." And that is exactly what we did. I cannot speak on the food because we never had the opportunity to try it--not even a glass of water was served. What I can speak on is the lack of attentiveness, professionalism, urgency, and food safety awareness that we experienced. It's disappointing because the restaurant itself is beautiful, and I genuinely wanted to support and celebrate another Black-owned establishment on such a special occasion. Off the top big win....free parking. Walking in, spacious and gorgeous! That burgundy throughout, straight gorgeous! They offer plenty of booth and table seating. There bar has plenty of seating and it looked to have a full liquor selection. They have a space for dancing. On Wednesdays they have live music and Fridays a DJ. They have a greeter, who seats you. They do take reservations, but walk-ins are welcome. We were seated at a round booth. We did get lucky with Amaya(Amia)(?) as our server. She did an amazing job, trying to help us overlook the slow service we were receiving. She was really sweet, had tones of personality, and very knowledgeable of the menu. Our party started with 3 and ended with 5 and she handled it with no problem.... because we were all over the place, with trying to decide. She was so patient with us. We decided to order there Blue Lychee Lemon Drop(I really enjoyed...and it did give a buzz) & 2 Old Fashioned( one liked it and the other thought it was way to strong).... it took them around 15-20mins. to bring our drinks and it wasn't crowded at all so we couldn't understand why. Only 2 of us ordered a bite to eat, I had there Mussels( they were pretty good... not big on tomatoes) and my homegirl ordered there Yams(I tried them and they were tasty)(we were told they are made with straight Grand Marnier...I did taste much of a difference), Broccolini(my homegirl did not like them at all(she didn't finish them), and Collard Greens(she did enjoy them). We did get the opportunity to meet the manager Johnathan, he was really nice, and once he learned it was my homegirls birthday, he grabbed her a piece of cheesecake. Really kind gesture. My cousin and I wanted to try a new spot and walked into Krave. We were greeted and the hostess stated it was only about 10 minute wait. Now shortly after the 10 minutes, a waitress told another 2 party waiting to sit at the bar as it will be quicker. Then the hostess shared that information with us. We were confused, but did see the bar has seating. Now for my thicker girlies, the bar chairs ain't for us. There was 1 lady working and while she was very nice, time management needs improvement. She was all over the place. My food came quickly, but it took my cousins food a minute. The sweet potatoes on both of our plates were very cold. The Mac and cheese was the best thing on the plate, but does come with an up charge. The chicken was decent, but the salmon was salty! We don't have to go back, but at least we tried. Oh so while me and my cousin were waiting a younger couple was seated. My heart went out to them because we got food before them. At the recommendation from a friend, hubby & I visited Krave for the first time. We both enjoyed everything we ordered. I had the shrimp dinner with broccolini and Mac 'n cheese. Hubs ordered the roasted chicken with Mac and sweet potato soufflé. We also shared a kale salad. The portion sizes were plentiful and we both loved our food, everything was seasoned well (not too salty like some places can be). The broccolini was cooked perfectly (not too soft, a lil crunch & seasoned well). Now on to the ambiance... beautifully decorated in purple (or maroon) velvet and gold. Great spot for a date night or gathering with family & friends. The restaurant & seating is spacious. The music playing was at the right volume so you can have a conversation. Please don't waste your time here. We didn't get our food until 2.5 hours after arriving for our reservation and management was reluctant to do anything about it, in addition to other issues, until we continuously persisted. GORGEOUS! The one word that came to mind when I entered the restaurant. Outside the box and very well executed design and decor. Feathered chandeliers people...I mean, COME ON! Drooling from the time I entered. I had a reservation for Mother's Day dinner. I ended up needing to downsize my reservation on site which was not an issue with the hostess. We were asked to sit to wait for our table to be prepared which was no more than a minute or two. I was able to admire the decor even more while waiting. Every detail was considered. I truly appreciated this! There was a prefixed menu for Mother's Day but it was not mandatory to order from, I also appreciated this! The thought to have a prefixed menu that was multiple courses but to also understand that some may not need this was truly considerate. I landed on the Cajun salmon, Mac and cheese and broccolini. All my food was good. I especially appreciated the broccolini as I find that it is not a typical side choice at many restaurants and it was a stand out. My server was kind and service was well paced. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the food was good just not great. I would certainly go back and am leaving room to try other menu offerings. As an MBA grad, this is a one time (non-pre promoted false fee) that gets Krave (seafood restaurant) paid one time for groups and individuals under the same criteria. All future patrons (upon reading this) should spend under $100 to avoid the automatic charge! It's a horrible way to add a ("group charge" on your bill as if you brought a group of people in when this charge is based on the amount you spend not the number of people you bring in). Patrons spending less than $100 per individual means less revenue in the long run. It's really a false representation of the charge. But business is a "long run" game not quirks and tricks... Beautiful, well decorated restaurant-- definitely a great add for McDonough. I had the roasted Branzino with seasonal vegetables and sweet potatoes. The vegetables were squash and zucchini and were cooked perfectly with red onions and seasoned well. The Branzjno was very mild flavored with a taste of dill and lemon and melted in the mouth. Candied yams were also very good and not overly sweet. I would definitely have these items again. For the drink, I chose a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it complemented the Branzino perfectly. I had requested to sample the Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, but I guess the bartender did not want to comply with that. I visited on Sunday, July 5, 2026, with about eight family members and friends to celebrate my birthday. Our server was great and did a wonderful job taking care of us. However, I noticed a bald gentleman walking around the restaurant, and I'm not sure if he was the manager. If he was, he never introduced himself, welcomed us, or thanked us for choosing the establishment to celebrate such a special occasion. Those small gestures make a big difference in customer service. I also noticed that while some of the staff were pleasant, others appeared unfriendly, which created an unwelcoming atmosphere. The food was good, but overall I was disappointed with the experience. I purposely chose to support a restaurant outside of my usual areas, near our home. I was hoping to have a memorable birthday celebration, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. I'll be returning to my usual favorites in the Buckhead, Perimeter Mall, and Cumberland Mall areas. The mac and cheese was not good, the candied yams were not good, and the fried salmon was disappointing as well. I ordered the $45 steak, and for that price, I expected much more it was just okay at best. I personally feel like the beautiful decor acts like a fur coat covering up what's underneath. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Krave. My party made reservations and even arrived early, only to find out that our table had been given away. When I spoke with the manager about the situation, he acknowledged that several parties had been seated ahead of us despite our reservation. What made the situation even more frustrating was his proposed solution: he offered to seat us, but said we would have to share a table with two other parties. I've never heard of a restaurant expecting customers with a reservation to share a table with strangers because of the restaurant's mistake. To make matters worse, there was an available booth in plain sight, but we were told it was reserved for parties of four and that they could not accommodate us. It's hard to understand that reasoning when the restaurant had already failed to honor our reservation and admitted to seating others before us. I always try to support Black-owned businesses and was looking forward to a great experience, but the poor customer service, lack of accountability, and unwillingness to make things right left a very negative impression. We are two ladies she referred to us as "guys" in her greeting, do people know the meaning of the word. She appeared un- focused and not aware of her assignment. When our check arrived we were a party of two, she placed 4 other entrees on our bill--including our order. After intervention from the manger, (after our server gave us the bill she was not seen again), we received the corrected bill. There is a three percent charge if you use a credit card. We had cash.
