Super bummed with our experience here for my son's first haircut. The service and haircut quality…read morewere nothing like what others reviews sounded like. Maybe our stylist was having an off day or end of shift tiredness. Unfortunately there was minimal to no effort from the stylist to be friendly with my 2 year old or any of us family members that were there for such a special moment. We weren't greeted with smiles or excitement. Low energy levels, brief discussion of haircut, no conversing. We did not feel welcome. I wish we didn't come here for my babies first haircut. $45 haircut was terrible, uneven, awkward choppy bangs, too short in some areas & too long in others. We weren't offered a balloon afterward, my daughter took it upon herself to go grab one. Photo on the certificate cut off the top of his head so you could barely see the cut anyway. We went straight to Great Clips to get his hair fixed, way cheaper, more friendly, and a skilled stylist who fixed my son's haircut.

I appreciate him taking the time to do that and providing that level of customer service. I will give them another shot. This was our first visit to this location, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I don't think we'll be returning. We had a 1:40 p.m. appointment. When we arrived, two employees were standing at the front counter talking. I mentioned that the self-check-in keyboard wasn't working, and they said they would check us in. We then waited another minute or so for them to finish their conversation before they checked us in. Unfortunately, it appears they never informed the hairstylist that we had arrived. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes until another employee--who I believe was the manager--noticed us. He spoke rather harshly to the hairstylist, telling her that her 1:40 appointment had been waiting. From what I observed, she had no way of knowing we were there because no one had told her. I want to make it clear that the hairstylist, Lissa, was not the problem. She did a great job on my son's haircut. Even though my son wasn't a fan of the lightning bolt design, I thought it looked great. She even comped our haircut at the end, which I appreciated and certainly wasn't expecting or asking for. I hope she knows she did a wonderful job. My frustration is with the front desk's lack of communication and the way the situation was handled--not with the hairstylist, who was professional, kind, and did excellent work.

We checked in and Lissa would be his barber. They had different cars he could sit in, Lightning McQueen, a Police car, a Barbie car and a Fire rescue truck. He sat in the Fire Rescue truck. She asked him what he wanted to watch on TV, he selected Spidey and friends. She was amazing! His hair was pretty long. She cut his hair slowly with shears. No razor or buzzing. His cut was completely done in about 30 minutes. She did an excellent job!! I recommend her! Thank you Lissa for a great experience today. The children can pick a free balloon after their service too.

Kim Luna is truly one of a kind. She has cut both of my kids' hair over the years, and she's been…read moreworking with my youngest since 2021. My youngest is on the spectrum and was nonverbal for a period of time, and haircuts have always been a very difficult and emotional experience for him. From day one, Kim has shown an incredible level of patience, kindness, and genuine care. She never rushed, never forced anything, and always met my child where he was at. That kind of understanding is rare--and it made all the difference for our family. Because of her consistency and compassion, she has built a strong level of trust with my son over time. On his most recent haircut on April 5, 2026, he didn't try to jump off, fight the haircut, or kick--something that used to be a real challenge. That progress meant everything to us, and it's a direct reflection of the safe and supportive environment Kim has created over the years. I've followed Ms. Kim from location to location because it's nearly impossible to find someone with her level of skill and heart. She is currently available at the Little Locks locations in Bonita, La Jolla, and Solana Beach, which just makes her that much more irreplaceable and accessible to families across the area. I've also recommended her to other parents of children with special needs, as well as my regional center coordinators, because she truly is a special human being who deserves to be recognized. If you're looking for someone who is not only talented but also deeply compassionate and understanding, Kim Luna is the person you want. We are beyond grateful for her.

I used to get my lifts at another place that was more than twice the price for the same result, and the chemicals smelled much harsher, and my eyes would burn. Love that I find a place that produces the same result, closer to home, for less money. My lift came out with one or two lashes slightly overpermed, and Kristina insisted on not charging me. As a former small business owner, I would have done the same even though I told her I would still be happy to pay because I still left looking better than I came in the door! Highly recommend lash lift and tints with her!

I was surprised Lisa could continue cutting but she did! I don't know how she does it- and I do recommend OC Haircuts for Kids, specifically Lisa. One more thing...apparently if you are 9 miles outside their Irvine address they do charge distance fee. I was not made aware of that but have no problem especially with gas prices these days ‍
