took my daughter here for her birthday and x mas present she is a little fussy when getting her hair combed out my stylist was very patient with her and did the braids exactly how i was asking her she was really good at what she does and has been doing it for 30 plus years my daughter lived her as did i please don't hesitate to come and give her a try

The worst hair experience I've ever had, I got completely scammed. I first walk in and she never wrote my appointment down so I had to come back at a different time. I also have now spent $700 total on this style which is way above what I should be paying. I got blamed for getting the wrong hair that I spent $150 on but she never told me which kind to buy as all of my past braiders have provided hair for the style. Then she redid my hair and fixed it and at the beginning said she wouldn't charge for the length but it's normally $400, I had already paid $330 the first time which you upped at the chair to $360 because my hair was "longer". I also had to pay for the straight braiding hair the second time which she said was provided initially. I was on my way out to leave and she said I needed to pay half the price when she told me she was going to fix it and not charge me. Now I have had the braids for TWO DAYS and clumps and strands are coming out of my hair and this has never happened to me in all the times I've gotten braids and boho braids and I've been using my same human hair vendor for 5 years and it never sheds in my sew ins so I know it's not that. I feel completely taken advantage of and was never offered any time or refund or responded to. Will not be coming back after this traumatizing experience.

I have been taking my daughter here for a few months now and I absolutely love the care Olympia gives my daughter. My daughter is 3 years old and she has super curly, thick hair. Olympia always does her best and pays attention to detail when working on my daughter's hair. She is super friendly, fun, and professional. She is always on time, make's my daughter's hair look fabulous, flexible, patient, caring, always thinking of new ideas, and great with kids. We are so happy to have found her. Definitely give her a try!

Big O did such a great job on my two boys and husband's cuts. He is kind and very patient with my kids. M youngest, who is only five, had his hair butchered by a stylist at Sharky's and Big O fixed him up. My son's first experience at a real barber shop was awesome thanks to Big O. I am confident we found our family barber for life. Thanks Big O!

My wife let my son go to the shop on his own to help him become more independent. He showed the barber the cut he wanted and got trash as the result. I will never understands barbers that KNOW they can't do a certain cut but still attempts it, the finished product results in a horrible cut and still accepts money from the customer; and in this case an 11yo boy. If I wasn't currently deployed I would be in the shop demanding a refund as opposed to writing a review. Advice, next time just tell the customer that your barber skills aren't nice like that rather than steal a kid's money!!

I did a walk in today to get my son's haircut. I've read good reviews about this place and have been in search of a place that can cut my son's hair. My son is biracial and figured these guys can give him a nice haircut. When I walked in I asked if there was anyone available to cut my son's hair. He said he wouldn't be able to but someone else would. He walked outside to an employee sleeping in his car and asked him if he had time. The guy sleeping came in and wasn't the friendliest. I get the feeling because I am Hispanic. My son is biracial and I was looking for advice on his hair also. Long story short he seemed a little ruff cutting my son's hair. During the haircut I asked my son if he was ok. My son said he was fine. But when he was done and my son was getting in the car he started to cry. He said he wished the guy was more gentle with him and he hurt his head. I wish i would have said something to the crack head looking barber. The barber gave my son a sharp looking haircut but sucked with his kids skills. The search continues for a good barber for my son

Two days after cut. You can see some of the scar lines

Tldr: the shop might be good but Sabrina needs more time. Here's the thing...when I am out of town and need a cut Issa gamble and a game that I play. I don't always have the time to research each shop to get on a good barbers schedule in thr short time I was there. So I found this shop and it had pretty high ratings on Yelp and I was like bet, a black barbershop? Imma be alright. So me and my wife get there on a Thursday afternoon. Nobody in the shop but a older dude who was chilling in the corner and a young eager woman who was more than happy to take me in her chair. They the only two in the shop. Should have been my first flag. I should have insisted the dude cut my hair. I have locs and only needed a line up and small taper to my beard. Figuring once I sat in the chair it would be 30 minutes tops. Let me tell you I was in that chair for near hour and 30 minutes easily because honestly the girl ain't know what she was doing. About 15 20 minutes into the cut I'm wincing from pain on my cheeks because she was running over the SAME part of my face over and over. I even tried to bear it because I thought maybe it's all in my head - I cut my own hair and know my way around clippers so though I'm not new to cutting my own hair, I'm not in a barbers chair that often. After awhile I had to shake her hand away and have her stop cutting me with those clippers cause it felt like I was literally getting cut. The dude I mentioned earlier came back in the shop around this time with his lunch and I'm GLAD he did because Ole girl Sabrina just isn't ready yet. The next HOUR was basically her calling him over every few minutes to get advice on what to do next. Let me tell you...when dude took the clippers the difference was like night and day, both in how it felt on my face and how my lines looked. Case in point - Sabrina had been working on my left beard line for a whole 10 minutes and causing the skin to get more raw - old dude came over, took the clippers and literally fixed the line in seconds. Like I said before I cut my own hair and though I'm not in a barbers chair regularly I've been in enough to know better. This was one of the worst experience I've had. It would be the worst cut I've had if not for old dude who had more experience coming over every few minutes to correct Sabrina. With his help the line up came out more than decent, but it took way too long to get there. Here's the thing: I don't want to just bash Sabrina because she was a sweetheart. Conversation was cool and she really did try to address everything I was saying to her. Trust I've been in worse barber chairs where them don't listen and then my line crooked or they ain't oil their clippers or whatever but she definitely did listen and I'm grateful for that. But facts is facts and she just wasn't ready. I definitely think she can be but need more time in barber school. I also fault the more experienced Barber because he said at the beginning that she can take me but bro.‍ After the end I paid the $30 My face was burning for the next day, I had to put Neosporin on every few hours and I had slight scarring.

Oh the joys of finding a barber ‍ and not just ANY barber. But one that specializes in straight line ups and neat fades. One that makes you feel like you're walking into THE Barbershop. This was definitely waaaaayyy down on the bottom of my to-do list. Had it not been for my hands glaring at me every time I went to cornrow the very tight Afro kinky hair that sits atop the big head of my son, I would have more than likely never gotten to it. Thank God and all of His heavenly hosts for Yelp. It SERIOUSLY has been my saving grace these last months in this desert of a foreign place so far north from my ancestral Diego. I know, I digress. My 9-year old has been growing out his hair for almost two years now to get a Samurai cut aka a top not aka the man bun. The dark chocolate chip I gave birth to has the most kinkiest 4C hair. When I say I now struggle with arthritis cuz of that bigheaded-blessing-of-a-no-good-daddy child's hair, I tell you no lies. Between attempting to manage his and my natural hair, cornrows, hair weekends that have lately progressed into hair weeks, I was not about to just entrust anyone to initiate my baby boy into the land where Samurai meets fowhawk and has a baby with a lineup. In walks Mr. Ed. Ring ring... Unknown: Hullo? Me: Hello, how are you? Unknown: Good. How about you? Me: Also good, thank you. I would like to make an appointment for my son, please. Unknown: Yes, hold please. Mr. Ed: Who dis? Me: Hello, this is Susie. How are you? Mr. Ed: I am good, thank you, how can I help you? SBSEG on How to Locate a Great Barber for Black Hair: Rule 1: They have to take appointments (it's a single parent thing) Rule 2: They have to be able to work with black hair (it's a black thing) Rule 3: They have to be affordable (it's a ballin-on-a-budget thing) Rule 4: They need to be a good role model for my son (it's a single parent of a young and impressionable black boy thing) Edward checked all the boxes off and then some. There was a comment that Mr. Ed made on the way out that had me wondering on the type of conversation the two had had while bonding over fallen hair. Tonight as my son prayed, he said, "and thank you God for bringing Mr. Ed to my head, hey that rhymed [focus D], yes mommie. Thank you that he understands my struggle at school and that I like my new hair. Amen." Of course that sparked my interest cuz my kid is a chatty Kath...Tyrone, but he does not often open up with people other than his family about the bullying and racial discrimination he is experiencing at school everyday. Although I am not privvy to the details of the conversation, I do know I appreciate Mr. Ed, for whatever he said, hey that rhymed! (Focus Susie) **Note to Mr. Ed: My son has legit the second worse memory, behind mine. No seriously, if their were an Olympic sport for the worst. memory. ever., We would come in one-two every time. So the fact that he remembered you by the time we got to the end of our day and the end of our nitetime routine, tells me one thing and one thing only...you made an impression on him. We all need to see people who look like us on tv and out in the regular, everyday world. I am so glad my son got to see that today in you. See you soon.

I took my son here when he was about 15 months for his first haircut. I was nervous to cut his baby hair, but he had some pretty bald balding and his big sis got a hold of scissors and gave him a good hack job on the top. As a white adoptive mama I was excited to find such an amazing barber that I can be loyal to for my kids. And this was just the place! Tyson cut my sons hair and was so much fun. He got my son to give him high fives and fist bumps even through the tears. He gave him an amazing fade and I am so happy with how handsome he looks. Tyson even gave me tips on products and how to style it which i appreciated. Definitely will be going back!

    Fresh fade

Wow ! I'm so happy and so is my son about his fade ! Marquis was funny, patient , understanding and very experienced and it was such a great price. My son came in with a huge fro. He looking fire ?

    Biracial braids

Wonderful place ! Soukaye was able to get her in last minute when other braiders had no room or plain out ignored us. She does a fantastic job. Don't hesitate to go to her!

A dedication tattoo to my mom, thank you Brielle!
    AShley H.

I came here to see Brielle. Brielle is the bomb, super laid back gal, and does a phenomenal job on tats and micro-bladding. She is not heavy-handed and gives you the best advice on what would look best. She has done my eyebrows and eyeliner. I will be back. Thank you for having a 1-stop shop for all my needs.

Went in for braids and they did a great job! Very friendly staff, as well. My partner went in for a class shave and can't wait to go back.

The vibes were cool, and the prices were reasonable. They also have clothes and shoes available up front, which I thought was a nice add on. I got my hair done by Taylor, who is sweet, charming, talented and technical. I wanted a cut and balayage, and she delivered! She does not push any additional services on you, and she seems very honest, She focused on balayage and doing long term care for "lived in" hair. I appreciated her services and loved my hair after.

It seemed reasonable that they gave me enough notice, so I happily said okay. I arrived at around 10:48am, was checked in, and was told she was almost done. At 11:00 I was starting to get frustrated and was concerned I wasn't going to be seen soon. I then noticed my assigned stylist picked up a curling iron to begin curling her clients hair. I waited a few more minutes, just in case she wasn't going to be curling her entire head, and at 11:07 I had to walk up to the front desk and tell them I was leaving. The lady at the front desk seemed genuinely apologetic, but there was nothing that could really be done at that point. It's extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional to have a scheduled appointment run 40 min late. Update: The stylist also reached out directly via text to apologize and offer a complimentary service. This was very much appreciated. Thank you both for trying to rectify my experience. 4 stars for your efforts to address my concerns.

Not ever, in the history of Yelp, has responses like yours HELPED a business. I'm sure it feels great in the moment...but I bet it won't feel too great when you're shutting your doors. If you're THIS reactive to constructive criticism, that's on you babe. If you think I would have come back after THAT reply, you're crazy. Treating myself, as a customer, regardless of my experience in the industry, politely would have garnered a positive change in my review. After that reply...Good luck hon! Edit to owners second response: my initial review was in no way rude, it was honest and I actually left out details to show kindness to the stylist. It's not her fault, I never even said her name and that was on purpose. No one was "put on blast" (how old are we?) It was simply an accurate description of my experience. Blaming me for the HUGE CHUNCK missing from my hair is funny. Yes I had cut my own bangs, no they were not fixed by the stylist...clearly, look at the picture. Since the owner knew who I was. She also could have called me, she chose instead to argue like a teenager over Yelp. For new potential clients to see. I'd. Be. Mortified. If someone left my salon looking like I did, but more mortified to be THIS petty. This will be my last response. Future clients beware. If you're unhappy, this is how you will be treated. FYI. I didn't end up calling because I read your replies to others who had and shocking ...you were rude to them too. Embarrassing. Good luck!
