From the moment we walked in his commentary was cordial, comical and engaging! I'm one of those dudes who is not overly fond of "small" talk. I am not a jerk about it and if you ask me some meaningless question, or point out some pointless fact such as, "Boy, it sure is getting chilly lately". I will respond to you, but I am not happy about it! I just like to keep the peace, ya know!? Now, to his actual haircut//"stylist". it was Fantastic/ She was Amazing! For $30, she threw some "rizz" on my boy! (At the age of 53, I have absolutely no clue if that word was just used properly or not?! Nonetheless, my kid was extremely happy about his new 'do, and I'm sure the 3rd grade "ladies" over at Whispering Oak Elementary would agree! My teenage daughter just "cringed". (I'm learning...). OK...well, now I feel would be a good time to conclude this review! Please know, and with 100% seriousness, our lady in the 2nd Booth from the front door was great! She was awesome at making my shy, always trying too hard to be cool, and quite picky, 9 year old feel great, comfortable and and with a newfound confidence. I suppose that is what a new look, expertly created, can do for you! I forgot to mention that she was quick, as well! We walked in (no appt) around 6:30pm pn a Tuesday night and there was only one other customer in the joint. During our 20 min or so, that guy finished and another guy entered and was promptly greeted and taken care of by the young man near the back. After roughly 17-20 minutes, my lil dood shook off the excess strands of cut hair and walked out of EVOLVED with a whole lot more "rizz" and you cannot place a price tag on that! My son's hair has NEVER looked better and I mean that!!! That is why we will be returning to EVOLVED every 3-4 weeks as we go forward!

If I was to speculate, my barber seemed distracted by a conversation that was happening on my right side where the hair was left uneven. It's an observation not a claim. This was before a vacation. Once I got home, I went to a different shop and they immediately saw and fixed the issue. This shop has a great reputation so I think might've been an off day.

Edgar was apparently there to protect the silence at all costs. The man basically grunted at me and seemed completely uninterested in having a conversation. On top of that, he smelled like he had either just left the bar or had been partying until sunrise and decided the barbershop was the next stop. I'm all for a chill environment, but there's a difference between "laid-back" and "did I accidentally walk into a barbershop during a hostage situation?" Cool shop, great aesthetic, but the atmosphere and customer experience just weren't for me. I don't think I'll be making a return visit.

My boys had been going to the same person for haircuts since their very first cuts, so when she moved away I wasn't just looking for someone who could cut hair. I wanted a shop that understood their mixed curly hair, but I also wanted the experience to still be something they enjoyed. Haircuts have always been one of those little things the boys and I do together, and I didn't want it to suddenly feel like a chore. Because our schedule is usually packed, the first time we went to Catrins we took a chance and booked three different barbers at the same time. Somehow we went 3-for-3. Lance, Rebekah and Cass have all been awesome. They take the time to listen to what we want, they're great with my boys, and they've created a shop where everyone feels part of the conversation. A lot of times it turns into one big conversation across the whole shop instead of three separate haircuts, and my kids dig it. It's relaxed, funny, welcoming, and still easy to get in and out without turning a haircut into a two-hour event. Most importantly, they're really good at what they do. They've learned my boys' hair and consistently get their cuts right. I even brought Grandpa in when he was visiting and he walked out completely happy too, so apparently they've got every generation covered. Great barbers, great culture, and exactly the kind of place I was hoping to find.

I've had very long hair the past 7 years and I decided it was time to finally chop it off. I knew there was only one place I would go and one person I trusted...that was Lance. I sent him a couple ideas of what I wanted and he said no problem. Now usually with a decision like this one might get a little nervous day of, well the moment I walked in I was greeted by all the barbers and even some of the clients. He took amazing care of me and when he finally said are you ready to check it out, he turned me around to the mirror and man was I HAPPY with what he did. Lance and all the barbers at Catrins are very talented and definitely are masters at their craft! I definitely recommend them if you want a solid haircut or trim and of course some good conversation. By far my best haircut experience I've had.
