Your greeted by the owners who work the restaurant and take pride in their establishment. They provided us with a complementary hot tea sample. That was so good. I could have drank that and been happy and had nothing else! The food where to begin? Typically I do not do sauces because that is not my thing but there's well let's just say I devoured it! It was so phenomenal and the chicken moist flavorful outstanding I cannot brag enough about how phenomenal that chicken dish was. Now let's talk about the vegetables. They were seasoned to perfection and cooked where they were still crunchy but yet they were soft enough that you didn't have to worry. The vegetables were outstanding and I wanted to get second helping on the vegetables they were that good! The pita bread looked to be homemade, but given it was Passover I was not able to try it. So long story short I'm coming back Friday night because that pita bread looked like it was in-house made and it looks so so good! This restaurant I have to say is out of this world and worthy of 10 stars! This is somewhere you definitely must try and I believe you too will give them 10 stars!!!!

You can also buy middle eastern groceries at the restaurant. It's not a fancy restaurant but they have food that those fancy restaurants charge twice more! They make falafel from scratch and they don't use powder or ground beans. They actually grind dry garbanzo beans. Please support this small restaurant. They don't speak good English but they cook amazing food for sure!

Or if you want some authentic middle eastern food; ie, gyros, shawarma, grapeleaves, etc. After a hard day of working on things, I realized I had yet to grab anything to eat. It as about 3:30pm at this point and I needed something quick, tasty, and filling. I called up K&Y and ordered a few gyros, some extra to bring home to my family. Their gyros are always super tasty and well seasoned. For a cool $6, you get sliced beef, sliced lamb, and veggies stuffed into pita bread all topped in the gyro sauce. The sandwich is stuffed to the brim and actually comes in two extremely big halves! I recommend coming here for a change of pace from the ordinary fast food. This version is much healthy. It's also a good spot to check out for ingredients for those new recipes that've been on the back burner for awhile out of fear. The staff is more than helpful with anything you might need@

This store/restaurant combo is a great place to get some fresh baklava (the best I've had in town…read more-- got 8 scrumptious pieces for only $7) and a wide selection of fresh meats, various types of couscous, special flavors (almond butter, for example), and other ingredients to create your own middle eastern masterpieces at home. As for a ready-to-eat bite, I got their chicken shawarma and gyro plate ($6.50) http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/cEL6JycrcJjRHycrG-gb7w/l. This dish included shawarma, seasoned chicken, pita, hummus, and salad. The shawarma they serve here is just top quality lean lamb and flavorful. The strips of chicken had a mildly spicy seasoning. The top strips of chicken were somewhat dry, but the ones in the middle were much more moist and tasty. The pita bread were soft warm pillows, but the fresh tasting hummus was overdosed with too much olive oil which was pooling on top. The salad was a simple ice berg lettuce and tomato salad with sliced olives and feta cheese. What disappointed me about the meal was the chicken and hummus. However, the rest of the meal was pretty good and a whole lot of meat was loaded into it. Always a plus! By the way, one could clearly see from the meats hanging and roasting in the back, that they make their food fresh. I washed my meal down with a Pakistani soda http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/yo-3LArbGOo3jDazFwozhg/l - Pakota, lychee flavored. Wow! I couldn't stop drinking it. Pretty good. My son ordered the gyro sandwich ($5.50), but being the picky lil man he is, he didn't finish it. K & Y Imports is in the same shopping plaza with Harbor Freight Tools at the corner of Southside Blvd. and Beach Blvd.

They have a good selection of Levantine and Egyptian goods, less Turkish and little if any Persian or things from the Maghreb west of Egypt for that matter. Good selection of canned goods, teas, coffee--really good on coffee--some baklava, other sweets, and cooking ingredients. They had jallab and grenadine syrups but alas no mint syrups (I'll just have to find a Moroccan grocer for that I suppose). Olive oil selection is ok but a bit sub-par for a Levantine grocer. All in all, a good grocer though and contrary to what other reviewers remarked, I found the staff very friendly as well.

The bags did not have a legible expiration date on all of them. I walked around store in case I missed other ingredients and seen he still didn't remove them off shelf. I also noticed that he short changed me on refund even when I provided receipt that states what the charges were, but I wasn't gonna argue over few bucks. With this said, please be careful and fully inspect to your best ability and check expiration dates. This experience has encouraged me to shop elsewhere. I was disappointed in the service
