Michael was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to clearly explain our well water quality and guided us through the best Culligan products at the most competitive prices. I asked him many questions--some challenging--and he answered all of them to my satisfaction. With additional discounts offered, we signed the contract the same day. The installation process was smooth and handled efficiently by an excellent team. My family is now enjoying high-quality Culligan-filtered water, along with the new AI-enabled device, which we really like. While I had seen some negative reviews about Culligan of Newburgh online, my own experience was nothing but positive. From start to finish, everything went well. People should take into account current service quality and updated experiences rather than relying solely on outdated reviews. Overall, I'm very happy with the service. I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with Culligan. A water bottle delivered to my home had tape placed under the handle, making it not easily visible. The tape was covering a crack in the bottle, which I did not notice at the time of delivery. This strongly suggests the bottle was not properly inspected prior to being refilled and sent out. That bottle leaked, causing water damage to my floor. This is not a minor issue--it's the result of a clear failure in basic quality control. I reached out to the company via email and follow-up voicemail and did not receive a response within a reasonable timeframe. No acknowledgment, no attempt to resolve the issue. At a minimum, customers should be able to trust that containers are properly inspected before reuse. When that fails and causes damage, the expectation is that the company takes responsibility. If this matter is not addressed, I will be pursuing a formal complaint through New York State consumer protection channels. There are far more reliable, responsive, and customer-focused water delivery companies available. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others before using this location. read more

Never answer phones. Slow to make appointments and slow with salt delivery, If you need something start calling at least a week in advance. Best time to call is 8AM and go to sales, no matter what you need. They are the only ones to answer. Guy who delivers salt is nice and polite. read more

Culligan water systems cost more than just about every other competitor. The system's quality is among the best. However, the customer service is inconsistent and can be frustrating to deal with. Signed up for Culligan water deliveries almost a year ago when we moved into our new house. Customer service was a nightmare. First- I agreed to their delivery service on a 3 bottle family plan. We moved in in August, and didnt receive our first delivery until October. They forgot to bring a dispenser, and also forgot to schedule us for the correct plan. After several months of bottle delivery chaos, I received an outrageous bill because they never set up my credit card for autopsy. The bill was convoluted and was hard to follow so I just paid it. In January they sent 5 bottles of MOLDY water. ​They replaced the bottles several weeks later after complaining. I the received another bill several months later because even though they took my credit card, they never put me on auto pay so I had to call customer service to give them my card AGAIN to set up autopsy. Lastly, they were sending random amounts of bottles of water every month (usually 4-5) when I originally agreed to 3 so I asked, and they apparently never put me into the correct program!!! I then had to go back to my emails and send them the original contract I signed with the agreed amount because they couldnt find it!!! When asking for something for the headache, they offered us NOTHING. Also, their subscription service is a scam. Poland spring is cheaper and has better service. Would not recommend. ​ read more

People on the phone are extremely rude and it's very difficult to even get through to speak with someone. For the salt delivery they make it difficult and expect you to wait all day for the delivery person to bring the bags downstairs. Perhaps they need to be more accommodating to get good reviews. Been a customer here probably for about 8 years but mostly using the dispenser outside. I have had positive experience using the water delivery service and renting the unit as well previously but I get better bang for my buck with the dollar and a quarter for 5 gallons if you bring your own jug. Pretty small operation but they are constantly busy and it's customer service is pretty good if you stop in at the front counter. read more

Culligan of Newburgh has had its ups & downs. Sometimes appearing as to not know what's going on. I have to attest I left them about 8 years ago for a competitior. The competitors equipment never worked right from day one and was never installed properly and only worked intermittently. Culligan came back with a new unit and we've been good ever since. Nate their salesman has backed up every promise he's made to me and follows up with us on a regular basis . We officially ended our contract with Culligan of Newburgh. After our filtration tank became so clogged with sediment that we lost water to the entire house for 4 days, they had the nerve to want $350 to come and reconnect their system. It was a reputable plumbing serivce that found the source of our water shut-down was indeed the Culligan filtration tank, which was filled top to bottom with mineral sediment. Interesting that when Culligan reps repeatedly came to the house for service calls, spent 20-30 mins in the basement each and every time, checked all the systems (they said), that they never warned us that the filtration tank was dangerously close to the top with sediment. A minor detail left unreported by Culligan service reps. Even more interesting is how their "tag-a-long" sales rep always tried to sell me more of their "crap" to lower an already too high mineral content - which would never have been that high if their systems were viable in the first place. I wouldn't go near this business. There are many water softener / filtration systems that are honest. Culligan of Newburgh is not one of them. read more

Horrible customer service. After Culligan installed my water softener, I decided to purchase their annual maintenance/service contract. I have been a customer for a number of years. Currently have an emergency situation where the water softener housing has a crack, water started leaking and I advised Culligan customer service it is about to explode. They advised the earliest they could get a tech to my house is 4 days from now and told me in the meantime call a plumber and have the water pressure checked. To add insult to injury Culligan installed the water shutoff after the housing and therefore, I had to shut off the water coming into the house. My husband and I have been customers of Culligan Newburgh New York for over 20 years but unfortunately, we have been having problems with our service for the few years! I have called the head office numerous times and spoke with the office of the president, specifically Scott. Scott refers me to Brian Warg. Brian has promised to fix the problem but does not. The head office has stated that Brian will call me but he never calls me back. The problem has been with not receiving consistent water delivery as well as bottles leaking that were delivered. The staff is very unprofessional and quite frankly I have finally lost my patience, I sadly did curse at the staff and while not proud of that, it is ridiculous to deal with this company. IT IS SAD TO KNOW THAT AFTER BEING A CUSTOMER FOR TWENTY + YEARS THAT THIS IS HOW IT ENDS! DO NOT USE THEM!! GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY! THERE ARE PLENTY IN NEWBURGH OR DANBURY!! Extremely poor customer service. Don't try to cancel your service because they will ignore it and continue charging you. When you inquire about the charge, they don't acknowledge you cancelled. Ask for a manager? They're never available. I've been told there is not manager then I've been told there is a manager. Save yourself from this headache. Hired Culligan to come out and install a peroxide water system a few months ago. When the tech installed the system he cracked the pipe didn't tell us and tried fixing it with silicon. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. We have been paying for a product for a year now that we have not been able to use. They have sent a few people to fix the issue and then told us to get a plumber. The plumber told us nothing was wrong, that it was something on Culligans end. We thought we were drinking clean water for the past year and we were not. It is beyond upsetting as we have two babies in the house. Horrible!!! They trick you into a "2yr contract". When you call for service, they schedule it 3 weeks later.... What a rip off. If i wanted to blow $80 bucks a month just to be serviced once every 7weeks then i would pay for my wifes waxings. The staff is friendly but their service really leaves much to be desired. I am expecting a newborn and will be struggling to make mortgage while my wife is home, so figured i would tighten my budget and cancel a service i only really receive 1 per 3months. When i called to cancel i was told i couldnt and would pay a penalty fee if i did break the contract. I dont like feeling trapped. Came to assess water system over winter and give us a quote. In process, they accidentally turned on a bunch of stuff (and left it on) that should have been off and an hour later, our water went from drinkable but hard to straight up orange/metallic and undrinkable. Called immediately to ask them to fix problem and was left hanging over a heavy snowstorm weekend. We had no drinking water for three days and water was so foul it also ruled out showering. Even the toilets reeked of iron. Here's the thing. I would have been absolutely fine with them coming to fix it a few days later - nobody can stop a snow storm, everybody makes mistakes. What got my goat was that when I asked for a refund for the 100$ "service charge" that I paid just to be left hanging for 3 days with no drinking water, I was told "we can't do that". I'm not exactly sure what that means: we can't see the customer was put in a really bad situation as a result of our mess up? Or we don't understand how to refund a payment? Was told unless I wanted to buy a Culligan water system they would not refund their error...which would have effectively been a "discount" on their water system. It was like the worst executed shakedown ever. FWIW, I think the dudes who messed up the water thing felt bad about it. I reiterate what so many have said in the reviews. The service is horrible and has gone downhill over the past 20+ years. We recently had a service call. A service person did not leave us any information on what was done. I called and asked what the water softness was, the person who answered, the phone kept telling me "your system is working" No matter how many times I asked what the softness of the water and readout from water filter was, she kept repeating "he said your system is working well"! I explained that that we felt that the softener is not working. Water does not feel softened, and salt level in the the tank does not seem to be going down. When I asked if the person who came out to service our system actually tested the water for softness, she said that she does not know and would find out and call me back. I never got a call back. I called again, asking for a manager. I was told that, over a week ago. the phone representative who I had spoken with, sent the manager an email requesting that he contact me. His name is Brian. I asked again to speak to Brian. I was told that he was not in the office, but she would give him a message to get back to me. I called again a few hours later to see if Brian was in yet... He was not and neither was his manager, Todd . The phone rep asked if I would like to leave a voice message for Brian. I said that I would appreciate that... She forwarded me to his voicemail box, which was full!! Pretty straightforward request... Culligan came out to service their system and test to make sure all is working well... the least they could do is actually test the water for softness and let me know what the results were from the water softener, as well as from the water filter... Our last yearly service on our RO water system was performed by a technician that did not follow the required procedures as stated in the maintenance manual Rendering our water undrinkable. We called Culligan because our water softener stopped working. They were very quick to schedule and send a rep out to address the issue with our old softener. What we were most impressed with was their honesty; they told us the quickest/easiest route was to repair (they could do this)... however, it will probably continue to have the same issues not too long after being the type of softener it was, tends to only last 5-ish years. They would gladly send a tech out to fix it, or we could consider upgrading to a Culligan softener. We chose to replace, as my fiancé and I are planning to stay and grow in this house... we were looking for a LONG TERM solution. Even if it cost more. Someone was over to our home in just THREE DAYS to install the new softener. They even got rid of our old one for us! The technician was very, very thorough and if you purchase their "Priviledge Program" (monthly fee), they will come deliver the salt AND fill up your softener for you. They even come and service it for you once a year. That, all other maintenance AND if there are any issues at all, are free of charge to you as the purchaser because you are on the Priviledge Program. What an amazing deal! While the rep was here, he also noticed that our drinking water was retaining some mineral and hard metals. They told us, with zero pressure, that now would be a great time to purchase a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system to purify the water. Because we went with the softener, we were able to get a great deal on the RO at the same time. The RO is great and has eliminated the need for us to purchase bottled water, as we now have safe drinking water from our own well. The sales team, service team, and Culligan Water as a whole provided exceptional, EASY service from start to finish, that we feel should absolutely be recognized. Especially being someone that had no idea that these things existed in water, or mattered for your everyday living! We are super happy with our purchase and have had no issues since installation. Water softener error message came on and it requires service. The piston inside the water softener wears out at around 7 years. When it comes to Culligan, it is not really a DIY job. Made service appt (within 2 days) and the technician came on time and replaced the part that is inside the water softener within 1 hr. Part is a bit pricey but expected. Originally my first review was a poor review because at first they were unwilling to comeback and replace a valve that was accidentally taken out when they removed my mothers old water softener and installed the new one without charging me for material and a service visit. Later they did recontact us and came out to replace to the valve for free. I used Leighton's for water treatment for years with zero issues. Recently they were purchased by Culligans, a much larger company with zero customer service skills. I had to call over 5 times to get an appointment for a month and a half out to change the vu light on my water. I was given a 3hr time window (by the manager) for saturday 11am-2pm. On the day of I waited and no one arrived or called. I left multiple unreturned messages. Today I called again and was told that some arrived at 3pm (an hour after the time window). When I said this was unacceptable, she hung up on me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have no respect for their customers and clearly have no idea how to run a business. If small companies can show up on time and call for updates, why can't large ones do better! read more

We entered into a service contract with Culligan after they installed our water softener. The agreement included delivery of water softener salt. In the beginning of the contract, the deliveries were very regular. If we weren't home, they would leave the salt by our garage. Then suddenly the deliveries stopped. We went 6 months without a delivery. When we called them to say we were out of salt. we were told it would be delivered the following month. Do not do business with Culligan of Newburgh. SCAMMERS - STAY AWAY! They sent a SALES MAN on a routine service call! I called Culligan for the annual servicing of my water softener. TWO men came out and one told me the unit wasn't working because the tank was full of sediment and the other guy quoted me $1,800 to replace the unit. I decided to go ahead with the job but changed my mind the next day and went to their location to let them know. When I got there, the representative said she would get the "sales person" to speak to me and it turned out to be the same person who came out on the service call with the tech! Why is Culligan sending sales people on service calls???!!! I purchased a different unit from Home Depot for $500 (which works great) and installed it myself. When I removed the Culligan unit, contrary to what they told me, I found very little sediment in the tank! I can only conclude that this was a scam from the start, because there is NO reason to send a sales person on a routine service call and to lie about the unit not working, except to sell a new one to someone who doesn't need it. Terrible customer service and terrible service. I have been using Culligans for several years now for water delivery service. I would give three stars because Vinny the sales rep and the delivery guys who delivers my water are always so nice but you are guilty by association! The rest of the company is horrible from the customer service reps, to the service manager, the service tech and the manager Brian. My water softener is 10 years old with a life span of 15-20 years. Culligan's purchased the company that services my water softener. But since I was a customer of Culligans already and was working with the sales rep to purchase a water osmosis system I didn't think this was a problem. Of course I was wrong or I wouldn't be writing this review. When I called Culligans and asked if they serviced the tank even though its not originally culligans product I was told "yes". They sent out a service tech to service my softener, who informed me that my water was still slightly hard. The recommendation was to replace the resin in the tank or replace the tank. Contact customer service to follow up. When I followed up with customer service I was told they could swap the resin in the tank because they did have the product and I scheduled my service for 1 month out, because of course you need to take a full day off from work to accommodate their window to schedule. Day before the service I receive a call from culligans they are coming to pick up the water softener?! What do you mean pick up the tank I asked. Per the service manager we don't change resin at the house, we need to bring the tank back and then return it to you. So I will have no water over the weekend until you bring the tank back (no date scheduled)... his response of course was yes. Not what was relayed to me and of course the price changed when speaking to the service manager and they can not get the parts needed for my tank but it was encouraged to switch to their product since "they will be around forever". Being a diligent customer I called the company that is supposed to service my water softener for help, hoping someone picked up that wasn't culligan. To my surprise it was a tech from the company. I explained my situation and was informed that my tank was not old enough for a resin problem and the water softener needs to be programed to manage water that is a little harder. He walked my husband through the process and success our water is fine. As a result of this of course I didn't purchase the osmosis system from them and end of year will be moving to another water delivery company. VERY dishonest company. In addition I paid for a service from a tech that did not know how to service the equipment properly. Two messages to the manager and no return phone call. Why am I not surprised... you? read more

I haven't yet seen how the service performs (water does taste better in the few days I've had system) but I will say...buyer beware of what is promised in installation. Salesperson is there several hours and by the end it's kind of overwhelming, but I thought we'd agreed that all old equipment would be taken away on installation day and it wasn't. The salesperson, who was just as nice as could be when selling me the system, was defiant that he had not said that, when I questioned why heaviest part of equipment was not removed. He quite pointedly said 3x "I VERBALLY ARTICULATED to you that that was only if possible" which to me means, when I asked, he assured me it was so but didn't promise in writing. And admittedly, after I examined contract, they had said "if possible", and since they only send one person at a time to install, he couldn't carry it all. My bad for not taking inventory of each piece of old equipment and getting written assurance it would be removed. I did email and call office who said they would try and get some guys from the office to come help....then crickets. read more

I had a problem with my water for months. When Culligan came for my annual service they noticed that the water was not right. I called my plumber because Culligan suggested it was a plumbing problem having nothing to do with their system. My plumber did something to adjust the water pump. The water worked but was coming out brown for months. I also noticed the water was not soft like Culligan water should be. A few days ago I had my next annual service call and the Culligan man, Tim, a younger worker who came told me that the water tank was shot. The water tank was probably shot a long time ago before my plumber came which was last October so Tim made made an appointment to come here on a Saturday to replace the water tank with a new one and also handle the service call. He was not able to get the system working because he had some problems with the insulation and went out in his car three times to take rides to Newburgh, Kerhonkson, Kingston, each trip taking about an hour to pick up parts and fuses, etc. and still it wouldn't work which was not the fault of Culligan. Finally about 5 o'clock he called his supervisor a man named Ed who came and figured out the whole problem which was an extra circuit box in the basement since no power was going to the system. There was an extra circuit box was totally unnecessary and by bypassing that box and hooking up the electricity to the main fuse box he got the system to work perfectly. The point I am trying to make is these men were here from 9:00 in the morning till close to 7 o'clock at night. They knew that I had come out of the hospital from surgery a few weeks earlier and would not be leave me without any water. I have a feeling that they would have done this for any Culligan customer. These guys are the best there is and nobody is out there like them. They worked their butts off all day in blistering heat and the price never changed It was one set price for the water tank and installation. They were courteous, kind, friendly, extremely professional and most important they would not leave until they got the job done. If I could give them 20 stars I would but I can only give them five. In this day and age when many people do not take pride in their work or are careful about what they do Culligan Water does. They are the finest operation of any water treatment out there.
