If you are going to business with this group you have to watch your billing. Last month I was double billed, no one knew why, and worse it took a week to get my money back. They sure took it quick enough. Now I am being billed a delivery fee for a service that is covered under my service plan, and again no one knows why even after giving the W/O# on the invoice. To top it off I am being told to follow up next week to see if it bills and then call them back if needed. read more

I have had Culligan water delivery for going on 6 years in various places, Sacramento California, San Diego Ca and finally here in Jacksonville. I've never had a problem u til Jacksonville. Absolutely horrific service month after month. I would get the call I had a delivery the next day, I would put water bottles out and no new water in the 10 months I had service 6 of them I received no water. Every time it happened I would call and get a special delivery and assurances it would not happen again. Yet October, November, December same experience. Finally reached my breaking point when I had a special delivery end of November, then after receiving a courtesy call for delivery on December 11. No water. I called on the 28th as I needed water and was told no delivery until January 13. Given their history I did not believe I would get water so I closed my account. I've had my Culligan water softener for about 10 years and noticed my water was getting cloudy. I thought my resin beads had worn out so requested a service call. Keith arrived on time and listened to my concerns. He ran it through backwash and forward wash cycles and then tested the water. The water was clear and the calcium level was around 1, indicating it was working. I was expecting a need to get new resin beads, but that was all that was needed. Keith assured me the beads should last another year or two. I was very pleased with the service call and very satisfied with my water softener. read more

Please please, please do not purchase any equipment from this company. It's not only overpriced they don't stand behind their product ! which means it must not be very good.. my system was purchased in October 2017. We had extensive issues with getting it installed the GM David purple and my salesman were out digging the trenches in my yard to get it installed. Salt delivery was a little bit ridiculous but we continued to get it for over a year. Once we stopped it, our softener quit working called called called and called and called no one ever wanted to help us. On our reverse osmosis we got it in 17 October and then May 2018 and was having issues and they had to send someone out to fix it. They actually sent someone out to fix it and didn't charge me. I was in utter shock. My system will be 6 years old in October and does not work. Everything I bought from the company for $3600 , nothing works. No one cares they don't stand behind their product. We had a guy come out this week. He looked at our system said he never seen the system before it must be 10 years old. No, my dear child it is not even six years old. He is unable to help us. New Management - Excellent Service We have used Culligan for our home reverse-osmosis water filtration system since 2012. The Culligan office always calls to let us know when they are coming to deliver salt, etc. Today Neil changed the filter, checked the system settings and tested the water. He was on time, polite and knowledgeable. I am surprised by some of the older negative reviews on Yelp. My husband and I have been happy Culligan customers for 7 years. Worst service ever. Don't plan anything because you will be waiting all day for them. Poor communication from service techs. Awful.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are never timely when it comes to repairing their equipment and when they are called out they dont even fix it. They have to come out countless times for anything to be done or even looked at properly. Water constantly goes out (i have a infant, which makes no difference to them) and takes over 2 weeks to get anyone to even come out. If they are going to be at the house earlier or later than the time that was, quoted they do not contact anyone so someone can tell them what is going on or even be there to make sure something gets done. I signed up for them to put the salt in for me. They never put salt in my machine and never questioned or fixed it since it wasn't using any salt. I have had Culligan products un my previous home, and have not had issues like I have had here. I was having trouble and had to call for services for 2 weeks of leaving messages with no response. Finally I emailed my sales person and he had them get in touch with me that day. Tech came to my home and couldn't solve the issue, and didn't offer any options. I finally had to get in touch with the general manager to get them to relocate my equipment so I could use it. This also took them 2 trips because the tech didn't have the part for the connection. Lastly they left the old pipe sticking out the side of my home that is no longer in use. Overall I am disappointed and wished I had used someone else. Not true statement. we had a filtering system put on our well only because of the sulfer smell. They guarenteed this would take care of the problem 3months later and several calls and service visits we still have a sulfer smell. Ive asked many times for them to remove their system and refund our monies to no avail. Several of the tech have smelled the sulfer . Even the management stated our water taste terrible. Had a bad water leak from the system , so had to shut off the water to the house. Over a week for anyone to come out due to the cold weather. After a week finally had the manager walk through a bypass to restore water to the house. Day of the appointment no call no show. Called to see what happened no call back again. Finally a guy came the next day at 4pm. Stated have to pay for service call and part install plus taxes. I asked to remove the service call since there was such bad communication , and went a week with no running water . I let them do the service so please remove the service charge. Took 10$ off. It was just a bad experience that could have went differently. I will not use them again. Bad customer service. read more

A water tank that stopped working and now there is a fee of $114.00 first half hour for a technician to play with it and say if something is wrong with the unit, plus 30.00 any additional 30 minutes it's unacceptable.specially if you are still paying a monthly fee for the equipment. Total bait and switch. In order to make the sale, the salesman, joel, will say whatever you want to hear. He told us that they would get us into payments for a set amount and implied that it was through culligan. A few weeks after the sale, we get paperwork from another company and there is an interest rate. One year later (today) I get a call that the payment is going up 50%. I've had problems where they say they dropped off more bags than they did and won't call me back when I leave messages for them to do so. Although i've had previous and multiple frustrating problems; my salt delivery "skipped" twice with no notice, lack of communication and follow up from the internal customer service people, I've been pleased with the helpful, friendly field staff who do the heavy lifting - delivery & service. I recently had my malfunctioning unit serviced by Jacob who was both friendly, outgoing and capable. He also was emphatic regarding the problems I've had in the past with the office staff. Service was unreliable, deliveries were routinely skipped. I was paying rental on the water dispenser and the bottle deposit for a product I was unable to use-which is a borderline dishonest business practice. They have poor communication with customers and between office and drivers. All staff was very nice and apologetic however the problem with skipped deliveries was never fixed. Purchased a Culligan water softener and filter for my home in St Augustine. Spent about $3700.00 on the system. The system stopped working after 14 months. Then it stopped altogether. It stopped regenerating. Also the drain field they installed backed up and stopped draining. When I called Culligan for service, the best they would do is come to my home in two weeks. The person on the phone said two weeks is the best they could do for me and that was it. Needless to say, I got rid of the Culligan system. Poor quality. If you have a salt based water softener that has a resin based system, don't count on Culligan to inform you in any way that the resin needs to be replaced every 6 years or so. In 14 years, not ONE communication on this issue from anyone. Finally I asked a delivery guy and he told me to call and set an appointment. They came out, tested the water and told me how horribly bad it was and that I needed to spend 3 grand to upgrade the system. Then they had the nerve to hard sell it like there were no options. so we purchased the system in late 2018, system worked great for about a year, then our hose in the induction pump for chlorine broke, figured wear and tear right, well they came out and fixed it, $160.00 service call. Now not more than 5 months later it's broken again, same thing. We have a new born with skin allergies and the system is down for a second time, you can not get ahold of anyone with sense or time urgency, especially when you have paid $9,000 plus for a system with faulty equipment. my Neighbor went through affordable water and got a system that works so much better for around $3,000, it's older and works better without a minuet thing wrong with it, needless to say the old saying you get what you pay for is completely out the door when it comes to culligan. If I could return the equipment and get half my money back I would and go a different route. so I would recommend to shop all options before choosing culligan. read more

********UPDATE******** Culligan has now called my wife asking what can they do to have me take this review down since we didn't even buy from them. This is my experience with the company. You don't have to buy a product to experience poor customer service with the company. Also, we couldn't buy from them because they still haven't given us a written estimate! ************************* Where to begin? My wife had Culligan come out because we were interested in getting a water softener. We already had one estimate from a local family owned company that was really polite and was very informative about water softeners and how they function etc... So we had a good base knowledge about water softeners when we had Culligan come out to give an estimate. They sent over Mark as their salesman and I greeted him and we started by talking about installation and how they would do it. After having a few other estimates since then I now know this guy had no idea about how to install a water softener and my guess is he was just trying to make it complicated so they can increase the price. After he talked about the install he came inside to do the pointless water test to tell us what we already know, that we have hard water. As he was doing this he used the wrong chemical and then complained that someone must have switched it on him. I doubt they share their testing kits so I'm not sure who would've switched it on him. Anyways, he then got into his sales pitch and this is where things went south quickly. Mark was an arrogant jerk that belittled other companies and really refused to talk about any of their softeners other than the most expensive ones. Some of his pitches were, "We aren't some small family owned business where you'll have to wait for them to come out and service your equipment." (This is funny because their website says they are a local family owned business) "They've only been in business for 25 years so how would they know if their equipment can last that long?" "Take cars for example. I drive a Challenger and my daughter drives a Kia, my car is the better value. When you get this softener you're getting the better value" "Anyone that is trying to sell you a softener for under $1,500 is selling you garbage." "This is why we've earned Consumer's Digest Best Buy award." So let's break some of these down. I would much rather buy from a local family owned small business because they actually care about the customer and know how to treat the customer with respect without the need to bash other companies. 25 years is enough time to know whether their equipment can last as long as they say or not. Mark hasn't even been in the water treatment business that long as he said he used to work for ADT. Let's take cars for example, when I told Mark that his perceived value is off because the Kia costs less upfront and after purchase, requires less maintenance, less gas, and lasts longer. His response was comical. "It's a V6 and I get my tires from Walmart so no, you're wrong." Okay, buddy. Whatever you say with your V6 Challenger with Walmart tires on it. Just like a cheap salesman. After getting estimates from several other companies, it's clear that $1,500 isn't cheap at all for a 3 person family and unless you're looking to get ripped off you really shouldn't pay over $2500 (which is still high). The funny thing is when we asked about some of their cheaper models he really couldn't or wouldn't talk about them. He just kept trying to push for the more expensive one but couldn't come up with a solid reason why other than their Consumer's Digest award. I had to call him out on the Consumer Digest award at this point because it was just getting old. With any of these awards, the company pays to be ranked or have surveys done and also to use their logos to put it on their marketing collateral. Mark wanted to argue, so argue I did. He started off by saying they did not pay to have the surveys. I entertained him and said okay but you paid to put that on your marketing collateral. His story then changed to no we paid to have them survey but we don't pay to use the logo. I work for a company that uses JD Power so I have some experience with these companies. They can manipulate a survey to get the responses that their clients are looking for. Finally, I could tell this was going nowhere so I asked him if we could have a written estimate to which he replied, "for which one?" I simply responded with a "both" because we wanted to compare the price difference between the expensive model and the lower one that he wouldn't really talk about. He then asked if he can email them to us and we said sure. That was almost 2 weeks ago and got nothing from him. Needless to say, this company tries to rip you off. Do not buy from them as they jack up the price on the equipment to an unreasonable amount and try to sell you fancy things that really do nothing in terms of softening your water. Terrible service post sale. Tried for months to get them to move my system when I moved. I would warn anyone not to go business with.

I submitted an online quote request for "re-bedding" in mid-October and finally got a phone reply near the end of that month. An appointment was made for the tech to come out on Nov 15th for what I thought would be an on-site repair as the lady in the office made no mention of what was to come, just how much it would cost. No surprise that the tech/salesman that showed up advised me that my perfectly good system should be replaced for a new one for only about $2500. I refused the notion and agreed to just a re-bed and seal pack replacement. Then the surprises started. The tech said he was taking my tank to their shop. That they do not do re-beds in the field. Reluctantly I okayed the idea and off went my tank. The tech said he had no idea how long it would take (surprise) and that I should call their office to find out. So I called them on the 20th and the lady asked for my call back number and that she would let me know when it would be done. Next surprise was that 2 days later I had still not heard from them so I called them again. This time a different that lady I spoke to seemed apologetic and told me that my tank was not done yet and that it takes a week to complete a re-bedding. With the holiday being involved, I gave them a few extra days before I rang their bell again. I called back on Dec 5th and got the first lady that I had talked to. She said "Oh yes, your tank is done." and told me that the tech would be out on the 7th to reinstall the tank if I was available. Surprisingly, she showed no concern over the fact that a one week job is now in its third week. The saving grace to this adventure was the tech that came out to put the tank in. Jay, and his trainee Robert, showed up on time. I showed them where it went and they said it would be done in about 20 minutes. Jay was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and courteous. The install took a little longer than thought but that was only because he had to repair an item that was accidentally broken while finishing the job. Jay put my system through its paces and verified everything was perfect before going over the repairs and warranty with me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had an err1 code blinking on a $2500.00 unit. I called Culligan and asked what I should do. They advised they needed to schedule a service call. That was almost a 2 week wait. The guy shows up, tells me "You need to unplug the unit, let it sit for 5 minutes, and plug it back in to reset it. That will be $147.00." I said, "your telling me its costing me $147.00 for you to tell me to unplug the unit and plug it back in to re-set it?" He said "yes, that's the cost of the service call.". My experience with the service department has been anything but helpful. They came out to fix my water softener, it is about seven years old and this is the second time I have had a repairman out. They replaced a part and announced it was good to go. The very next morning my water softener was doing the same thing it was doing when I called the first time. Evidently the part that was replaced was not the problem. I have been trying to get a repairman back out to get my unit fixed and feel as if I am getting the run around. I was told that I would have a repairman out this morning and when no one showed up I called the office and was told that I should not have been told that someone would be out this morning. I am still waiting another call back to get this resolved. My advice to anyone out there is to not purchase a Culligan unit as it is almost impossible to get it worked on if a problem arises. read more
