I strongly suggest you check IG first before wasting your time going there. I have visited Kay's Kitchen on several occasions. You literally have to follow her on social media to get a true determination on whether she's open or not. There have been occasions when she's suppose to be open and hasn't been without any notification. I have to point out the customer service. It can be unprofessional, unappreciative and down right unhospitable. Then on the flip side, because there is such a long delay with your order, she will address you nicely to inform that your order will be right up. Hhhuuuhhhhh???? If I ask questions about items on the menu, hours of operation or prior specials........why am I addressed with attitude, annoyance and personal problems?!?! I'm just asking simple questions, trying to support a business but after several interactions, I am very put off. It's also disappointing to meet someone in person who doesn't display any of the friendliness portrayed on social media. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes for your order because you cannot call in orders. Cool, that means my food is hot-n-fresh. Extremely overly priced food for the quality and portion sizes. The Cajun Shrimp Pasta and homemade fries are good, but not $25 good. The fried rice is OK, but is missing a significant flavor profile. Also, there is no egg in the rice. Now who would know that the fried rice actually has a cut-off time???? Not all of us are able to come during lunch hours, indicate that somewhere for patrons. You literally have to ask if it is ok to order after a certain hour. The eggrolls that accompany the fried rice lacks major filling. I'm not exactly sure what is even inside of them. When you are paying upwards of $13 for fried rice, I expect more in the container than what is provided. I also expect the rice to taste better than what is being served. The lemon pepper chicken wings........hmmmmm what can I say, they are literally just OK. It's disappointing to see all this fabulous, deliciously mouthwatering food on social media, then order items on the menu, pay and arm and a leg, just to realize that you could have went elsewhere for better customer service and delicious eats. NOOOOO I will not be returning

I chose the combination plate with jerk chicken fried rice and honey hot wings and my friend ordered a combination plate as well. Hers came with shrimp fried rice and parmesan wings and we also both got the blue drip to drink. Take notes folks...this is how fried rice is supposed to look! lol The food was freshly made to order and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The combination plates also come with two spring rolls as well and when I tell you that we tore this food UP? There was nothing left but crumbs once we were done. lol I actually got to meet Kay when I was there and she is super sweet and hospitable. I most definitely will keep coming back.

I ordered a week out and sent my order via email. Within an hour or so, I received a confirmation. It was scheduled. As Friday approached, I reached out to make sure we were still on. Almost immediately, I received confirmation that we were good. Friday arrived along with a family crisis. It was hard for me to stay focused. Right before the first break at 10 something, I was freaking out that lunch hadn't arrived. That I had set it up at the wrong time. So I immediately emailed Best Box Lunches and asked if they could bring the lunches sooner. Keep in mind that I had ordered 75 lunches, so I was really asking a lot. I immediately received a response stating that they would try. That's all I needed to hear. We weren't creating a cure for cancer. If the lunch was late, it would be fine. My family crisis got more intense, but I wasn't freaking out about lunch now. It's amazing what a simple, QUICK email reply can do for a person. When the lunches arrived, they were perfect. They looked like you hadn't been rushed and that you had all day to make them. The bottom line is that I TOTALLY recommend them and will continue to use Best Box Lunches whenever I can. They made me look good.

You can pay via invoice and they support tax-exempt orders while makes admin background work much easier. All of this is great from an event organizer perspective. My favorite part is how the boxes are designed and packed. They look attractive and fancy as far as a boxed lunch goes, but are small and compact in case people need to take their lunch to go. Also, the food is ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD! Even when it's been sitting for an hour or more due to event logistics. It's just nice to be able to offer meeting attendees a nice meal option that still meets all the fiscal and admin requirements of a bureaucracy-heavy job. Highly recommend!

They will notify you when your order is received by the restaurant, when it is ready, when your pedaler is there for pick up, and when it is in route. I wish it was more accurate like Uber, but it gets the job done. Honestly, if you live in the Loop, CWE, Midtown, Downtown, and even Clayton. Use Food Pedalers to delivery your food on bikes. I honestly don't know how they would do it with very very large orders, but they have group catering online. The only thing I would note is they have some great restaurants in their porfolio, but not everything yet. Loop: United Provisions, Pi, Three Kings, Rannoush and some others that don't deliver Clayton is on break for the summer. This seems weird to me, but I'm sure it's because they are working on increasing their market share. Things to be wary of: The app sometimes is a little off. I tried to pre-order even in a close window and it often boots me out. In addition, the menu online is not the same menu for the same restaurants often. It's more limited. Anyways - glad to have this local service around for around $3.99 a delivery and you can tip your pedaler if you want online.
