When we brought the issue up to management, their answer was "It is an old hotel and the rooms are assigned at the time of booking and it is the luck of the draw. REALLY!!!! The larger room had 3 large windows whereas the smaller room had a single 14" window. Be careful when booking this hotel. Lots of stairs and the room is "The luck of the draw!"

Nautical maps abound, and there are a couple of topological maps if you are considering a walk in the nearby Glens the next day (of course, you should *actually* acquire one should you do so). The food is, ah, conventional. We went for venison burgers and vension sausages (sauces a little salty), and enjoyed them without anything worthy of special mention. Except the goat cheese, which turned out quite blue-vein. It's as if the meat itself lack that game taste a venison should ideally have, and they're making up for it with the other ingredients.
