One of my favorite pizza spots! Can't go wrong with their pizza - even their sicilian is top notch! Their pepperoni has a kick to it so if you get heartburn easily, do yourself a favor and either take some tums first or just order a plain pie. The only analogy that makes sense is day-old pizza left out overnight: ice cold, hard, shriveled. For $9.60: * Slice was uninspiring at best served thin crust with bland tomato sauce. * The lunch special is Chicken parm hero but what I got was just the chicken cutlet with the same bland tomato sauce. * The can of Diet Pepsi was good. Standard no frills thin crust pizza, generous calzones/rolls and other usual fare. A good place to stop in and get a quick pizza fix with a few toppings. I'll take home or order a 12" pie, one half with pepperoni or veggies, have two or three slices right away, then individually tinfoil the rest in the fridge. A few days later I throw a slice in a medium hot covered cast iron skillet for four to five minutes. When the cheese has re-melted, you have a crunchy crust again. UPDATE: A) Consistency and quality depend on who's making the pies and subs at different times or days. The sauce is definitely fresher and sweeter around lunchtime, it can suffer from simmering too long. So sometimes the pies and parms are great, and sometimes kind of meh. The manager should pay close attention to this IMHO. B) the delivery system has improved since Dec 2017, it's quicker and the person reads the delivery instructions more carefully. Great thin crust pizza. Perfect amount of cheese, nice crunch, and just the right amount of sauce. And the icing on the cake is that it's served at the perfect temp (lava hot). Naturally, I burned the roof of my mouth with the first bite, but that's a sacrifice I'm happy to make. Aside from the plain cheese, they offer several slices but I didn't try any of them. I judge every pizzeria by the quality of their regular cheese. If it holds up to my scrutiny, then it's a safe bet that the other slices will be just as delicious. In this area, only Fort Lee Pizzeria can provide worthy competition. Cuginos is definitely a top contender for best slice in Edgewater/Fort Lee and is definitely included in the top pizzerias of Bergen County conversation. The pizzeria itself has nearly a dozen 4-top tables that can be easily combined for large parties. They offer other dishes aside from pizza. No alcoholic beverages here though, but they offer fountain sodas and a good mix of bottled beverages. Parking may be an issue during weekday lunch hours since there is also a deli, Five Guys, a Korean bakery, Subway, and a Chinese take out in the same shopping center. We decided to give them another try and placed an order and gave them 2 hours to reliever! They sent the delivery guy to another town! It doesn't matter how wonderful your food is, if the service is terrible or the guy who picks up the phone doesn't care enough about the business then you will lose business! Add to that their whole wheat crust option ($2 extra) and the fact that you can swap the pasta for salad on their fantastic entrees makes them an all around reasonably healthy choice when you're ordering take out. If only I could give this place 0 stars. Even 1 is way too generous. Take my advice and stay FAR AWAY!! I order a pizza at 7:15 PM thru Grub Hub and expected delivery was listed as 8:10 - 8:25. So at 9 when my pizza still was no where in site I called the pizzeria. I was told the driver was stuck in traffic. Mind you I live 2 blocks from this place. So I digressed and decided to wait a little more. At 9:30 I received a call from someone in another town informing me the delivery driver just tried to drop my food off there. So again, I called the pizzeria and told them the delivery driver is in the wrong town, and I only live 2 blocks away and I asked to cancel my order. I spoke with 2 people at the establishment and neither one could understand me, they both seemed to have very broken English. And they just kept saying the delivery guy was stuck in traffic. At this point I contacted Grub-Hub to cancel my order. They called the pizzeria and was told I refused the order so they are refusing the refund. Props to Grub-Hub who refunded me my money, but shame on Cugio's who never showed up at my door and lied to Grub-Hub to keep my pizza money. When i asked why my pizza was taking soo long the delivery boy said the owner ray called him back to pick up another order and have that order delivered first. The delivery service is unbelievably bad. If only that were the extent of the problems here. My last order took 1 hour and 38 minutes to arrive. When the delivery person got here, he did not give me my food until he explained that he is still learning the area. I live in a 20-story landmark luxury apartment building that everybody knows. Of course, after all of that time, my bruschetta was soggy, cold, and tasteless, and I was charged $1.55 more for veal parmigiana than the amount that was posted on their website. When I brought it to the attention of the restaurant, I was not offered a refund. It was explained to me that the website does not have updated pricing. I was additionally told that printed menus have the correct pricing, but that the website had not been updated yet. Is it really plausible that printed menus are easier to update than web menus? Probably not, but updating the website would not serve to overcharge customers and then claim ignorance when called on it. How long does it take to update a web page? 1 or 2 minutes? Is it easier to update printed menus? Hardly. But, that was just the tip of the cold bruschetta, which tasted like an iceberg. Tonight topped even that. I placed an order, did not get it again after an hour and a half, and when I called to find out where the food was, I was told that the online order that I placed was not received because the restaurant did not refresh their computers, but that I would have my order in another 45 minutes if I still wanted it. If I owned a restaurant, and I did that, I would prepare the order at warp speed and offer to have it there in 20 to 30 minutes, and I would offer a pricing concession. Of course, if I had not called at all, I would never have known that my order was not received, and I would have had no dinner tonight because all of the restaurants would have closed. For all of the game-changing food that people are reporting, that was not my experience at this restaurant. I was overcharged, not refunded when I mentioned it, I was served substandardly prepared food, I was served extremely late, and I was not served at all. A game changer? I am a pizza snob being from New York and I loved the food! When I first walked in I was greeted by everyone that works there. Hello's and how are ya's were coming from everywhere! That made me feel at home already! We had our son who is 1 1/2 and automatically one of the guys came over and offered him a garlic knot (which he loved). We ordered a pie, rice balls and garlic knots. As we were waiting, the same guy came over with fresh zeppoles and said "they are very hot, but sweet just like you" to my son. He ate those up as well and of course Mom had a taste and they were yummy! Both of the delivery people were great too! Especially the girl Ava, she was so sweet and made sure while we were waiting we were okay. This is our new Friday night pizza spot for sure! I can't wait to try more items off the menu.
