We were recommended this place by a local host as an authentic flamenco experience in a traditional cave. We opted to skip the dinner and buy show tickets only that came with a free drink each. Family of four cost 96 euros. We arrived early for the first show at 9pm. No one greeted us as we walked up, though there were a number of workers standing idly about. Once we asked for help, we were offered to sit in the bar and wait or could take our seats in the venue. Thinking we had arrived early and could get good seats we were surprised they had assigned seating and we were 3/4 back in the long performance hall. There are four chairs, aisle, and four chairs in each row and we were at least 15 rows back. Though our seats were the first row on a riser, we knew we wouldn't be able to see any of the footwork of the dancers. We were the first to sit down at 8:40. The first 15 rows or so are reserved for large tour groups. Only the first two rows are going to get a good view of the footwork during dancing. Our view was no better than knee level of the performers.
The music was amazing. The singing was authentic and excellent and the dancing, what we could see of it appeared to be very good, but the poor viewing had us wishing we had known our seats wouldn't have been good.
Though we placed our drink orders first, we didn't get our drinks until almost the end of the show, after the entire tour group received their drinks first. The waiter needed to take our order a second time because by then he had lost the first one. Then, all of our drinks tasted watered down. Perhaps the ice had melted from sitting for so long.
The performers were excellent but the layout of the venue is not conducive for viewing the dancing, given how many people they tried to cram in the cave for that performance. The customer service was also a bit lacking so we wished we had looked around online at other reviews first. Had we secured front row seats, we likely would have been very happy. Reading other reviews, we were glad we skipped the dinner as that doesn't appear to be noteworthy here. read more
