Overall the experience was ok. Restaurant looks good on the inside. Good ambiance. They seemed to be busy when I went in on Saturday night and they had some live entertainment that helped with the atmosphere. Since I had not been there before I went for a little of everything. The brisket was dry one of the hardest things to do it to cook a juicy brisket and on this one they didn't do so well. The ribs were pretty good pulled off the bone well but was lacking in some flavoring. The chopped smoked pork was good and but I would have preferred to have more bark. The deviled egg potato salad was sub-par, Mac and cheese was average. I did enjoy the Brunswick Stew. Decent portion sizes. I would give it another try but with specific items. read more

Pros: The BBQ Nachos were pretty good and the serving size was huge. Cons: BBQ pork was dry, dry, dry. Customer service was terrible. I ordered a side salad without the red onions and the man who dropped off our order told me, "I don't trust people who don't like onions," and walked away. It wasn't said in a joking manner, we had never met before, and he didn't chat with us. It came off as aggressive and really threw me off. I did an online order and ordered the chicken salad salad with other things in addition to it. I checked my order and was puzzled because the salad was so small as I was wanting this to be an entree. I went back to the bar a asked the lady working if this was the normal size as I have dined In before and it appears to be much smaller then what I have received in the past. Instead of apologizing or offering and explanation she just yelled NO at me from across the bar and then yelled at another employee to explain what I ordered. The next employee presumed to apologize but to just be told No when I'm clearly asking a question about a order I just paid for was extremely rude. A family night with smoked meat, beer, wine, and live music...what could be better? I'm not a bbq purist or a connoisseur but I'm fairly familiar and decently versed. Let me try to break this down for those with lesser skills...It's pretty good and you should go. The bbq is good but going on a Friday or Saturday evening is one of my favorite family nights out because when you combine reasonably good food, family ambiance, reasonably priced beer and wine with live music (starts at 7pm) from a 1 or 2-person act who typically are reasonably good in their own right - you get 4 stars. No need to go into whether the bark on the pork was dark enough, or if the ribs were chewy or fall-off-the-bone, etc. Just get some bbq nachos or smoked wings and some other grub, grab a beverage, and enjoy the evening. Just ate here with my parents. They are visiting from Raleigh NC and wanted some BBQ and since I didn't know the area BBQ restaurants I pulled up Yelp and checked it out. Let me tell you, the good/great reviews are spot on. The food was fabulous and the staff were friendly. Even to the point when my order of two sausages grilled was delivered, they felt that one of the sausages were too small, so they brought me out an extra one to make up for it. I shared one of my sausages and was planning on taking the littler one home for hubby to try and I was full, so they boxed up the extra sausage, the little one and everything else left over for us to take home. I had the two sausages grilled. Those are some spicy (but not too spicy) sausages, grilled to perfection with a small side of grilled sauerkraut, brunswick stew and the campfire butternut squash. It was all wonderful. Mom had the beef brisket, collard greens and sweet potato casserole (could have been dessert). Dad had the Pork with Deviled Egg Potato Salad and Bacon Beans. Oh, and we got Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream to go. Too full to eat it, but if it is half as good as what we ate, then it will be perfect. We all shared our sides and tastes of our meats and we left very full and very happy. If you go and they are serving the butternut squash, you have to try it. This amazing BBQ restaurant is the closest most of us will ever get to feel what it would be like to judge BBQ! The baby back ribs I had here were the best I've ever had in my 49-years on this planet! Every rib arrives at your table cut from the rack sauce perfectly and cooked to perfection. That part about cooked to perfection isn't hyperbole! God's honest truth! This place has a pit master, who's earned the title. My wife loves the coleslaw. The fries are next level. The toast is divine. The sauces are very good. The deserts are guaranteed passed down heirlooms! The apple cobbler is sinful. It arrives hot with cold homemade vanilla ice cream on top. I mean hot enough to burn your tongue. Each rib is lovingly made as if you were the pickiest judge in a national competition. I give 1 stars because the service was good, the restaurant itself seems pretty clean, and is nicely outfitted. However, the food was another issue entirely. The bbq had no flavor, smoke, or texture to it at all. It wasn't dry or overcooked: just as tasteless as food can get. Was like eating a big nothing burger. The few sauces they offered didn't help much at all. Maybe a better selection of sauces could have rescued it. It hard to describe the experience of eating completely tasteless meat: or how you can possibly make it end up that way. I couldn't finish the pulled pork sandwich, because quite frankly it didn't taste like food. The sausages were also completely void of any taste. I really tried to make it feel like food: but it just wasn't working for me. On the other hand, the Brunswick stew, and collard greens was excellent so 1 more star for that. Awesome barbecue! Started with the wings... SO good. Then had the pulled chicken which came with 2 sides and Texas toast. The chicken was really good and had a nice smoky flavor to it. I got the sweet potato casserole and mac and cheese as my sides.. highly recommend both! And for dessert I got the banana pudding that came with whipped cream and chocolate chip cookie pieces.. The award winning founder of this franchise would be sorely disappointed with the quality of food. I ordered the sausage. Two links were so under cooked that the casing was soggy and the meat inside was mush. Looking at the meat it was clearly under cooked given the bright reddish pink color. Deciding to send it back I asked to have chopped brisket what I received was sliced brisket that was chewey, fatty, and difficult to cut. What I ORDERED was the advertised 12-16 lb smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. What I GOT was a 7lb 9 oz smoked turkey...for $60. I weighed it. It looks like a large chicken. This place is too legit to quit. Literally. If you're ordering a sandwich, ask for the Texas toast over the sweet role that comes standard. It's a game changer with the Texas Toast. To begin, the place aesthetically was descent, I find that the uglier the bbq place, the better the food. Service was excellent! Staff was friendly, we got seated imminently, food came out a decent time. The bar and the bartender were very nice, no complaints on that side. However, the food was awful. The ribs were a bit dry, which didn't affect the flavor as much as the awful sauce that was placed over them. The sauce tasted like ketchup pretending to be bbq. The only thing that saved my ribs was a honey mustard like sauce. The pickles on the side tasted like picked pickles soaked in extra spicy vinegar. Fried okra was awful and the only thing good was the toast and fries. Would never come back nor recommend this place to anyone. read more

I rate it a 3*, because of the staff and the atmosphere, but I probably won't go back because of the food. The service was very good, staff was very friendly and attentive(way above expectiations). The atmosphere, music, and decor was great. It was our first time, so we went with some solid staples...wings and ribs. The wings I have no complaints with, very good. The big test of any barbecue place however is the ribs, and the sauce. Unfortunately, these were some of the worst I've had in the area. The ribs were dry, and at times "gamey". When I reached for more sauce for help, it was amateur hour. The mustard-based sauce tasted like actual mustard, and the red sauce tasted like heinz ketchup...you could actually smell the ketchup in it. Sauce was definitely not ready for prime time. Sides: The bread...ordinary. Potato Salad: DELICIOUS!!!. Brunswick stew...again...tasted like it came out of a can, although the generous portions of chicken in it made it better. The pickles, mac and cheese and collard greens are awesome! We've had a dozen awesome experiences at Cue and 1 really bad one. The good ones consisted of tasty, juicy pork BBQ and brisket, to die for sides, friendly staff and reasonable ticket times. The 1 bad one was the time I ordered chopped brisket that... I'm not 100% sure was brisket. This was mostly fat and no smoke flavor. It was more like pulled pork scaps. Blegh. The waitress asked if I liked it and I told her very discretely that I don't think that's brisket. She got someone else to inspect my food and verify it was indeed brisket (she made kind of a big production out of it) I replied that if it was brisket, it wasn't very good. The second person did offer to get me something else (in a tone that was like "not my fault you didn't like it"), but my family was almost done eating so I declined. It would have been nice for them to take a small amount off the check, but they didn't. This place was 5 stars before this experience. I had the sliced pork sandwich with a side of greens and a diet coke for lunch. With tip it was $17.00, that is very high. Sliced pork had no smoked or barbecue taste. The greens were good but the portion was small. The 3 barbecue sauces were fair to poor with the best being the vinegar sauce. read more
