All the salsas in the salsa bar were super yummy, and the food was delicious. I wish there was a Cucas near me!

These guys were very nice and responded right away over text when I had questions!…read more I had the shrimp & grits and the seafood gumbo. The flavor of the food was packed with delicious herbs and spices. Truly a supernova of delicious authentic soul taste. If it were just that, it'd be an easy 5 stars; however, onto the negatives: 1. The shrimp & grits were pretty skimpy on the grits (altho tons of shrimp and delicious sausage in the seafood gumbo. HIGHLY recommend that one) 2. The prices are a bit high, in the $20-$40 range. However, I understand that delivery companies do take a big portion 3. The grubhub page said "not currently accepting orders" while the Uber eats one was accepting them. I asked the owner over text and she said she'd try to fix the grubhub website (I wanted to use grubhub over Uber eats cuz I had a $5 off grubhub coupon). It still wasn't fixed after 15-30 mins so we just gave up and ordered on Uber Eats since we were hungry. Would've been nice to know how long it might take to get it fixed; I was assuming it'd be a quick setting change Note that these guys are delivery/pickup only via Uber Eats or Grubhub and you have to just wait and show up at their house when it's ready. Didn't have to wait long after the estimated finish time to see the sous chef walk out and hand me the order. +1 for great instructions on where to meet them

I ordered the B.L.T.A. to go and it was honestly the worst sandwich I have ever paid for…read more Not only did it look nothing like the picture, the quality of ingredients was extremely disappointing across the board: - Stale, basic white store bought sandwich bread (think Wonder Bread) - Pre-shredded, store-bought lettuce - Two slices of tomato total -- one per half (and they were completely different sizes) - Less than half of an avocado for the entire sandwich - Plain mayonnaise, not the "Tabasco mayo" advertised - Cheap, fatty bacon that tasted like low-end grocery store brand Did the cook have to stop at the grocery store on their way to work today? On top of that, the ingredients were distributed completely unevenly between the two halves. I literally had to take both halves apart and redistribute everything myself just to make it edible. Nothing about this felt fresh. I also swapped the "house-made chips" for tater tots -- which turned out to be the exact Ore-Ida frozen tots you buy at the grocery store, and even worse... they were undercooked and mushy. I am willing to bet I just paid $16 for about $2.50 worth of ingredients. For $16, this was not just underwhelming -- it was bad, REAL BAD. Do NOT order this sandwich.

This place gets 5 stars for several reasons: size (for the bowl size, it was filling), taste (the…read moresauces enhanced and didn't overpower the food), freshness, and service. I'm visiting the area and chose this place bc of it's photos, protein choices, toppings, and pricing that aligns with poke places in LA. I ordered online from my hotel just under 3 miles away, and I forgot to choose sauces. Poke sauces are one characteristic of eating poke that makes each place and bowl unique. I got there, and the chef came out and asked if it was intentional that I left out the sauces. Service is what gave this place the fifth star. They were warm, friendly, and excited for me hoping I enjoyed my food. Because I forgot to add sauce, they gave me some to try on the side. The spicy mayo was nice bc it added creaminess and a little heat to the dish. Both the sweet shoyu and orangy garlic enhanced the flavors and freshness of the proteins and veggie toppings while being a great accompaniment to my salad and rice base. Toppings really help the over-all experience. No soy sauce needed at all. Finally, the five proteins that go into a large bowl were the bigger winner. Poke is hard to commit to sometimes for the price, but once you find a spot like this, it deserves to be "the place". If I lived here or when I visit again, I will absolutely come here again and wish them the best. Good luck not eating the large bowl at once bc the flavors are so good. Best wishes for continued success for this place. I enjoyed the bowl a bunch.

I want to preface that I have had poke here that easily earned a 5 star review. However, after…read morereturning a few times, that grade rapidly decreased. I am not even sure why :/ Usually I get a medium sized build your own bowl with a variety of tuna selections, a lot of veg toppings, spicy sauce, and all the crunchy toppings to finish the bowl. Nothing so crazy, and usually it's pretty good. But the last couple times I have gone, the bowl was not to standard and I couldn't finish it. The most recent time I went, they drowned my bowl in sauce. And you may be thinking "sauce is good its more flavor!". Drowned. Borderline soup. It was too much and made everything mushy and just not good :( I want to keep going here in hopes that it returns to the state it was in when I first began going. There aren't really any good poke spots in Goleta with bowls, so this is all I got! Hoping for a better change!
