MUST STOP BY! A true historic gem on Route 66. Can't miss this yellow, historic service station. There are antiques to see inside the museum. I was told, that once the back part is restored, the museum will expand to that section. The gentlemen behind the counter were very informative, professional and truly passionate about this station and its history. They are also familiar with nearby historic sites.

Really fun place to visit on route 66 in Rancho Cucamonga. I believe they're only open from Thursday to Monday, so check the hours before you go. The people that have restored this building have taken great pride and have done a wonderful job. It is really awesome to be able to see a accurate time capsule from the past. There is a small museum and gift shop inside. Lots of cool Route 66 and service station memorabilia. This wonderful stop on route 66 akso has a very clean and modern bathroom!

One of the best restored places on old Route 66. This was many years in the making and it has paid off. This legendary relic was in business from 1915 to 1971, and sat abandoned for several years. In 2009, this was designated as a city landmark and that's where the restoration and comeback process began. This is noted to be the only surviving service station of its kind in California. It is not hard to find as it is noticeable with its bright yellow color on the right. Be sure to park in the back. They do have a public restroom outside the building (when it's open). There is a small museum with some gas station memorabilia on the inside, as well as a gift shop. They do take plastic so plan on buying a lot of cool Route 66 souvenirs here, as well as stuff with the service station on it. The people (mostly volunteers) are fun to chat with so plan on staying for a bit. Definitely recommended when cruising on your Route 66 road trip. Please be sure to check the hours (or call them) so you can go inside and chat with the owners!

A highway that's so iconic it had a song written about it, which was long before the current Interstate freeway system was built. Covered by countless artists and bands, it's part of an Americana we can still celebrate. Nowadays the section that passes through Rancho Cucamonga is just a city street. In many areas, the clever merchants still pay tribute to the lure of the famous Route 66, naming their businesses accordingly. I happened to catch a photo of one the overpasses, filled with images of the history of the lure of the open road. Time for a road trip? Route 66 will help get you in the mood.

Came here on Sunday 9-19-21 at 2:30 PM. They close at 3:00 PM. People that work here are very nice and they volunteer their time. There is a small museum here and they sell some nice souvenirs. Please support them as they work on expanding this location. They even took a couple of pictures of me which was really nice.

What a delightful place for weary Route 66 travelers to dust off the long drive through eastern California before getting into LA. The owners make you feel right at home and are full of stories to tell! BONUS: The have an AMAZING (detached and ADA-compliant) bathroom that is worth the wait to use.

Restoration is complete on the service station! Now open as a museum and gift shop. Helpful staff. Stop by and pick up a souvenir and snap a photo! Buy a brick and help with the restoration of the garages... The next project

Great place to take vintage photos!! There's a gift shop that sells Route 66 items. They were very nice to my kids and let us use the facility to take photos. Definitely go there if you're looking to buy Route 66 items or do a photoshoot.

I was driving down Route 66 and snapped a picture because you don't see cool stuff like this everyday.

I was driving down Route 66, saw this restored gas station, and snapped a picture to share because you just don't see things like this everyday! Really cool!

Beautifully reconditioned Service Station featuring gas pumps and a nice gift store that appear to be brand new. This is one of the best restorations on route 66 so it is certainly worth stopping in for. There is an excellent team of volunteers whom are eager to educate you on the changes to Route 66 and the local city as well.

The bricks that are on the house today are the original bricks hand made by the masons with red clay found on the property. The home's flat roof was waterproofed with tar that was brought from the brea pits in Orange County. This is considered to be the first house built in Rancho Cucamonga. I've lived in Rancho Cucamonga on and off for the last 10 years and had no idea about the history of this beautiful place. Over the years the Rains House passes through several hands and was vacant for a while. The County of San Bernardino purchased the property in 1971. This house is considered a branch off the County of San Bernardino Museum. The house had been vandalized and needed restoring and furnishings . The women of Casa de Rancho Cucamonga Historical Society raised money through fundraisers and making crafts to sell, to assist in restoring the John Rains Home. They were able to furnish the home with authentic furniture and decoration from the time period. I posted pictures of some of the rooms and furnishings. The Docent Judy gave me a really nice tour. There are restrooms outside and a picnic area if you want to enjoy a nice sack lunch. The property is very pretty with the scenic mountains in the background. There is plenty of free parking and not many visitors. Please support the county and visit. I will definitely be coming back. They also rent out space for gatherings. Someone could plan a nice picturesque wedding here for sure. Hours : 10:00am - 3:00pm Open : Tuesday - Saturday. Closed major holidays Contact # (909) 989-4070

We came out to see which food trucks and stalls were out, as well, and we all had good meals. The variety was impressive! The meh: our 2022 Zinfandel. It was effervescent, which was weird and not supposed to happen, I don't think? Flavor was okay but if I wanted a carbonated drink I'd have ordered a soda or champagne! Ruby red with black cherry and plum aroma, complex taste, and smooth finish. As you make your way through the winery, it's easy to get lost in the beauty of the antiques on display. From vintage furniture to old-fashioned tools and equipment, every inch of the winery showcases a piece of history. It's like taking a step back in time to a bygone era. One of the most impressive features of the winery was the attention to detail in how the antiques were presented. It's evident that the owners of the winery take great pride in their collection, and they have gone to great lengths to ensure that they are beautifully showcased. The lighting, the arrangement, and the spacing of the antiques all contribute to creating a unique and memorable experience.
