If you're looking for a business you can trust to protect your belongings, please look elsewhere. My sister had almost $50,000 worth of damage done of her stored items because of Cubesmart's negligence and failure to fix a damaged roof. A large portion of her belongings in the unit were damaged by water and are covered in mildew and black mold. Cubesmart has still not notified other renters about the water entry through the roof, nor have they confirmed with my sister whether they will do an official inspection and fix the roof. Despite having paid for two insurance plans, one being a plan offered via Cubesmart (the plan is with 3rd party provider) and the other through a separate personal property insurer, my sister only received a $2,000 check from Cubesmart's insurance provider. Her separate plan won't provide any coverage because the damage is seen as being preventable (by Cubesmart). My sister has spent the better half of the last year and a half in the hospital with her daughter fighting for her life, and bringing any kind of mold near her would be life-threatening (she has progressive lung disease). Replacing the items isn't an option on top of the massive hospital bills associated with her care. And guess whose responsibility it is to remove, sort, and dispose of the damaged and dangerous items. That's right, the renter. You'd think having two insurance policies covering your storage unit would be enough, but Cubesmart seems to only be interested in protecting themselves. And then there's the sentimental value of the damaged possessions, which obviously can't be quantified. If you care about the items being stored, find a business you can trust to store your things in a truly "climate controlled" environment. Cubesmart, your company has not seemed interested in making this right, and we are not fooled by virtue signaling in the Google/ Yelp replies. read more

Bait and switch? Probably not but I was told the one price then when I went to sign up it was a different price. The move in price and the monthly price were different. Called and complained and finally had some one call me to correct the issue. Again I was given the same price as the first time, Move in and monthly, I doubled verified what they were telling me and guess what, back to the original wrong price when I went to sign up. "Oh yeah, well I guess that's the price then." Wasted a LOT of time. Had I gotten an apology of any kind I might have still gone forward with it. Not one person I talked to apologized. Someone cut a whole in my "secure" unit and stole my stuff. Someone with a unit in that building has my stuff or it was an inside job. The front desk was no help at all with getting video footage of the criminals to me so I can use on my police Report. Smells like an inside job. Your stuff is not safe here and is at risk of being stolen. And They only reimburse me a fraction of what was stolen. Our experience with Cubesmart was horrible. My husband and I rented from here. Spent thousands starting in July 2020. Cubesmart's roof was poorly maintained and water got though to our unit. My husband actually had to climb the roof himself (with a Cubesmart employee present) to see what was going on, and the roof looked horribly maintained. We could see right above our unit where the water got in (inside of our unit on the roof were rusty nails and white stained water smears). The cubesmart employee even said that the pictures we took looked like clear water damage. He has since been moved to a different location. Mold/water ruined $45,000 worth of our items, After a nightmare of trying to dispose of our moldy belongings and salvage that which remained from the water damage that came through Cubesmart's roof, we finally were able to get our things out last Saturday (9/17). Cubesmart locked our unit up without giving us any notice. The reason was for non payment (as we refused to pay one more dollar to the company who failed to keep our belongings climate controlled as promised), yet no notice was given. The district manager offered to unlock our belongings if we paid our outstanding balance. After we confronted them over the absurdity of locking our things with no notice and then demanding payment in order to get our moldy things (that pose a risk to neighboring units) out, the district manager offered to forgive our outstanding rent and allow us use of the dumpster for our large items on the condition that we get everything out by 9/17 or 9/18. Previously, they had always said it was our responsibility to pay for the disposal of those large items/mattresses that wouldn't fit in the dumpster. On Monday morning (9/19), we were sent a general release of liability that said, among a number of things, that I would not "publicly criticize, ridicule, disparage or defame Releasee or its products, services, policies, directors, officers, shareholders, or employees, with or through any written or oral statement or image (including, but not limited to, any statements made via websites, blogs, postings to the internet, or emails and whether or not they are made anonymously or through the use of a pseudonym)." Cubesmart claimed that the rent forgiven was legal "consideration" for this release. We do not recall a mention of the release, and we would have never agreed to signing anything that we had not read thoroughly. So we obviously refused to sign. They are quite literally trying to get us to shut up, and we won't until they make this right. Our Cubesmart insurance policy (via Great American) covered $2,000 of $45,000+ worth of damage. At the time that we signed our lease, Great American's most expensive policy covered up to $5,000 worth of damage. So, if you have valuable things, don't store them here. Cubesmart has still not notified other residents of the damage (we have friends we have been able to verify this with), and they will not tell us the roof repair history of the last two years or what their greater storage unit policy insurance is. To our knowledge, they have also not repaired the roof. Also, be careful with those discounts mentioned on the website. Those rates go up quickly and often, and they know it's way too difficult for you to move your stuff so there is nothing you can do. Communication with Cubesmart has been verrrry poor since the incident. They are hoping we forget but we wont. Buyer's beware. read more

I have been chasing the management of this location since October of 2021 to replace the light in my unit. After dragging it out until December they finally met me to change the bulb. It was an even larger issue because the hall light just outside my unit was also not working, making it very dark. I'm December we found the silver screw part of the bulb would not come out (white bulb part and wires can put). In January 2022 the manager Anthony (Tony) said they would have an electrician come out to correct the light base that the bulb screws into. Due to contractor arrival time Tony suggested I sign a release form and leave a key with the office to allow the electrician in my unit, which I did. Finally in March 2022 after calling repeatedly and asking for Tony to call me, Tony had the frontline person call and say they will not fix the light in my unit due to the cost of an electrician. They recommended I spend my own $$ for a portable light to put in my unit...you know, for safety. I have left multiple messages for Tony who will not respond to me--GREAT customer service. Worst experience when moving out. Spoke to the supervisor, he said I could park the storage container (small cube) parked inside as long as it doesn't block the way. So I had the driver do so. Lady general manager came out with a poor attitude after the fact, and said what he told me is incorrect and I needed the container out by today. Threatened me that if I don't get it out today, they would not allow the driver to pick it up, and would charge me penalties for every day the container was still there. I was very nice about the whole thing when talking to her, but she was furious and I felt racial tension.
