I was not concerned that the unit would get broken into, and as they had promised it would be dry, I did not bother getting insurance. Moved out this past weekend. I had to throw out a barely used (less than 2 year old) pillow-top mattress because it was basically a giant moldy ice cube. All of our boxes had water damage. Everything had to be washed thoroughly or thrown out due to mold. I called management that day and they said they would never have promised it would be dry and that they can't do anything about it. If you have to rent a space here, please get insurance.
