As soon as the incident occurred, Kyle came to our site to check on us and make sure everyone was safe. He was professional, caring, and genuinely concerned about our well-being during a stressful situation. Despite being new to the manager role, he handled the situation with confidence and urgency. Kyle quickly arranged for a professional tree service company to be on-site the very next morning to remove the tree and address the area safely. He also followed up with us afterward to make sure we were satisfied with the cleanup and the overall resolution. His prompt response, excellent communication, and dedication to customer service were truly appreciated. It's clear that Kyle is committed to taking care of campers and maintaining a safe, welcoming campground. Based on our experience, he's off to a great start as manager, and we are grateful for the way he handled this situation. Not only is the staff friendly but every camper you pass as well. The kids love the bounce pillow, playground, putt putt, games, and arcade...Oh and the pool is huge I love how it has the low area for the baby's. This place is kept clean and it's peaceful. This is 30 min from my home but now has become my happy place.

Some highway noise can be heard from I-94, but it not disturbing due to natural fencing and water features in the fishing pond and swimming area.

We also have stayed at Sun Outdoors in the past. It was a little pricey for the area but we had appointments in the area so it was a great location for us. I had no idea that the last 1/2 mile prior to entering the road which was a dirt road would have such pot holes that made it almost impossible to drive through. We left a day early and stayed in Walmart parking lot over night because I just could stand driving in and out one more time. The staff were extremely nice but stated it was a "private road" and there was nothing they could do about it. I am pretty sure that a park that houses a few hundred people should be concerned with the ability/liability for emergency service to arrive quickly when there is no way they can drive over 2miles/hr on that road. This is a really nice county park that is next to the boat launch for Saginaw Bay. They also have a…read moreplayground at a park nearby. There are trails out into the woods and as you can see from one of my pictures we had a deer munching on dinner that was fun to watch. All the sites are back in Only, and most of the sites were filled with what looked like longer-term stays or seasonal stays. So I think we were a little lucky to be able to grab a spot here. We were just here one night. It is an interesting set up with the water as you share a Spicket with four people, but the pressure was fine. We had no issues. You will need extra long hose so be prepared with that. The Wi-Fi is chargeable so we did not use it. The Verizon signal was decent enough. We are self contained so we did not use the restroom or shower facilities. There is a really nice picnic pavilion and plenty of green space. Lots of kids having fun on their bikes and such too. Front office staff were very friendly and charge was $30 a night. You're just a few miles into town, there is a planet fitness, grocery stores and farm stands as well as pretty much anything else you might need to stock up on during your travels.

They have spots for full hookups and 50 amp. Diane at registration is super friendly. The campers were all very respectful. Looks like they will have new ownership and will have upgrades. What I hope they don't do is raise prices were it's not affordable for those that stay for the season or lengthy time frames. The KOA we stayed at was too pricey and had so many kids driving the golf carts, making lots of noise and it felt chaotic. This place was quiet and we felt safe. We are interested in returning next year. Bonus, Cracker Barrel is adjacent to this park.
