The food and service are very good. This is basically an upscale burger place. I got a delivery of a double cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and a chocolate shake. The burger arrived still warm...a smash burger cooked well done which seems to be how most smash burgers are made. It was very, very good. The old bay seasoned shoe string fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a pleasant seasoning that did not overwhelm the fries. The onion rings were on the greasy side but not bad. The chocolate shake may have been the stand out. It was thick and very flavorful. In all, it is a decent place for a fast burger, fries and shake at a reasonable price. I would order from here again. It is a nice addition to Hell's Kitchen. read more

This is a hole in the wall sort of place. Generally I like those because you get great food. So in all honesty, all I had was the onion rings and the fries. We had the Cajun seasoning for the fries. The onion rings were OK. Nothing to write home about. I thought the seasoned fries would be a lot better. I stumbled upon this place after shopping at Target across the street. I learned it recently opened and had been hesitant to try it out without hearing from others if it is worth it. Because no one else I know has tried it yet, I decided to take the lead and go for it. I took time out of my day to come here and reassure anyone reading this, Cubby's is GREAT! I got a hamburger and Cajun fries. The bun they use for the burger is GREAT! It's advertised as a potato bun but it doesn't have the look or texture of store-bought potato buns. Whatever bun it is, it's INCREDIBLE! The meat was also superb. The shoestring fries would have been very boring had I not gone for seasoning. Tons of flavor! If I had to criticize anything, I'd say that waffle fries would have been better. But that's a preference. I gotta go back and try a milkshake! read more

Second, you'd expect the place to be cold and drafty, but no, there is an overhead heater that makes the restaurant comfortable and not too hot. The Angus beef 4oz. burgers are cooked to order and liking. The same goes for the shoestring French fries or onion rings, both hot and fresh. The burger is served on a fresh Orwashers bun and can be adorned with a multitude of toppings. There is Boylan's sodas or made to order milk shakes. The service is fast and friendly. I have no idea how there are so many positive reviews on this place. I live close by. Every time I ever walked by there seems to be nobody inside. I was in the mood for a burger and gave them a try. Wasn't sure what I wanted and whoever was working the counter seemed to be irritated by asking some simple questions(as it was my 1st time there) Kept telling me to refer to the paper menu for answers. I've worked in the hospitality business for 20 years. When you're a new business, it's important to be patient with customers. You don't have the clout of restaurant that's been around for a decade and can tell customers to basically go f themselves. Not that any restaurant should do that. Anyway, I was still hopeful that it would be a solid burger for the price point. Burger absolutely tasteless. 0 seasoning and dry as bone. The fries were great. I'd give them 9/10. Wow! Juicy an understatement! I went in for a quick lunch and tried the cubby's pub and now I'm mad at all other burgers. The cheese and sauce were perfect together and the burger actually tasted like beef. And they somehow found a roll that can hold all that tastiness together without turning to mush, but I still destroyed like ten napkins in the process. A welcome addition to the neighborhood! Cubby's used to be excellent. Everything is frozen but they used to heat it up well. Now it has greatly gone down hill. Cannot order a burger or the hotdog anymore. Their fries used to be some of the best in the city. Now changed their frozen vendor from one brand to another and they are horrible. Soggy flavorless shit and there is no transparency with their customers that they have made "frozen product vendor changes" so I ordered a large expecting the excellent fries I always knew and was extremely disappointed to say the least. Onion rings are burnt to complete hell every single time. One order out of 10 you get good frozen onion rings reheated but no exaggeration 9/10 are way overcooked and inedible, a waste of money. I been ordering from them for over a year and back in the day I used to get the hotdog but mayonnaise on a hot dog is just an uncalled for attack. Also before you think I'm tripping or the restaurant gonna respond to me and say we don't use frozen food I have dead ass watched the staff pull out frozen bag after frozen bag from the front cooler and run them to the back almost every time I come to the shop.
