Omg... how did I not try this place sooner?! Absolutely authentic and DELICIOUS Cuban food. The fresh baked bread is perfection, the café con leche was amazing, and both the Cuban sandwich and steak sandwich were honestly to die for. On top of the incredible food, the owner was so kind and welcoming -- attentive the entire time and even brought us a little treat to try since it was our first visit. You can truly feel the passion and love behind this place. Roselle needed a spot like this! It feels like a hidden gem with a little cult following already, and now I completely understand why. Pretty good sandwiches, notably the bread had that perfect crunch. I liked the brightness of the mojo in the lechon asado sandwich but it could have used a bit of balance like caramelized onions for a touch of sweetness. My partner thought the steak sandwich was okay. Tostones were freshly fried and rice was pretty good, but the meal was a bit pricey for a fast casual lunch. Week 2 of our random world cuisine adventure brings us to Cubano Bros, for Cuban cuisine. As a refresher, we have a ton of world cuisines written on slips of past in a jar (and some regional) and once a week we pick one, and check it out. In an unsuspecting strip mall that backs up to the Metra rail tracks, you'll find the Roselle location of Cubano Bros. A very simple layout, order at the counter - wait for your food. or eat in the adjacent dining area. Decor was fantastic, especially in this gross dreary not-winter-but-not-spring weather today, with a bright blue wall and beautiful photo/wallpaper and a cherry red car grill. Started with the Kola and the café con leché while we waited for our food. When the beef pastry was ready, it was brought out immediately. I was expecting something kind of like a Jamaican beef patty, but this was more like a delicate croissant like pastry with some very delicious beef inside. It was so good. Then our meals arrived. We had the Cubano, of course which was on point. Bread was amazing. And i had the ropa véjo bowl - which frankly i could eat every day of my life and never tire of it. We also had a side order of tostones. They were good, probably would get another beef pastry instead next time. This is one of those places that also makes me wish sometimes, only sometimes, that I did go into the office instead of work from home because I would stop here on a regular basis for the coffee and their breakfast options. The service was super friendly and not over bearing whatsoever. This Cubano Bros just recently opened here, and people in the Roselle area are in for a treat. This location is in the north strip mall next to the Roselle train station. They also have another location in Elk Grove that I have been going to for years. This new store is open on Sundays, which is another plus. I'm happy to say that my favorite breakfast sandwich with ham was absolutely delicious. Three brothers started this business together and take great pride in their food. Their bread is absolutely amazing - baked fresh every morning from an old family recipe. They have a full line of delicious sandwiches including their famous Cubano sandwich, in addition to bowls, meals sides and wonderful coffee. The pastries are also to die for - delicate and delicious. You can order on-line, phone ahead, or just come in and receive quick, friendly service and ample seating. I highly recommend Cubano Bros! So happy to see this location open up near my house!! I got the cubano from here yesterday and it was amazing!! The bread was fresh with a slight crisp to it. I also liked how all ingredients were evenly distributed throughout the sandwich which prevented one ingredient from overpowering the sandwich. It was a good portion at a reasonable price. The cashier was friendly and professional. The wait time wasn't too long and it seemed my meal was made to order. The interior was nicely decorated. read more

After my wife and I watched "The Chef" movie, we had to find an authentic Cuban restaurant! We found Cubano Brothers 11 miles away and it was So worth the drive. The Cubano sandwich was authentic and the chef was from Cuba! The ambiance had the music and a beautiful mural on the walls of Cuba! The food as amazing and the employees are very nice. Visiting from California and as soon as I saw Cuban Bros I had to try since we don't have much Cuban food back home. The aroma of freshly baked bread welcomed us as soon as we walked through the door. I ordered a cortadito and it was delicious! We also ordered a lechon sandwich and a Cuban sandwich and both were flavorful. Had to try the guava and cream cheese pastry as well and it did not disappoint! Definitely will be visiting next time we are in town. read more

The place is a quaint spot with a big picture of Havana to help you feel you're in Cuba. The guy taking our order was very friendly and welcoming! Definitely felt the hospitality! Now to the star of the show, the food! We ordered a grilled chicken bowl, ropa vieja sandwich, side of tostones, plantains, and bread with butter and they all tasted so authentic and extremely delicious! Highly recommend coming if you've never had Cuban food... it tastes homemade! Pictured is the chicken bowl and unfortunately didn't take pics of al other foods in time before we finished it. There was no one else there are 3:30 the afternoon on a Saturday but the service was quick and fast and the food was excellent. The eating area was quite cold but we survived. We ordered steak sandwich, Cuba sandwich, and tostones. All were great and I would go back again read more

We finally made it out to the new location--just 10 minutes closer to home than the Elk Grove Village spot--and we're so happy to say everything still tastes just as amazing! We ordered the steak bowl and chicken bowl (with enough leftovers to take home), and of course, we couldn't leave without a cortadito and café con leche. Totally worth the mini trip. We love supporting family-owned spots like this one--places where the food is made with con carino and the flavors feel like home. Food is very good and very filling! Everything is served in plastic to go containers in a plastic bag with plastic silverware whether you eat in or leave. We went for lunch and waited about 25 minutes for our food. Everything was freshly made and really very tasty. Lunch for 2 was about $40.00. I was a little put off by all the plastic waste, and it seemed that many people ordered ahead to pick up. We asked and the do not recycle. :( Again, the food was great. The waiting and lack of anthing reusable would probably keep us from returning. read more

Not a good experience. I tend to never leave bad reviews but this time I just had to. I convinced co-workers to order from here and we were very disappointed. Bowl contain more white rice than anything else in each bowl, and for the prices, this is not what we were expecting. The "Ropa Vija Bowl" shows the bowl to come with maduros AND tostones....when the coworker didn't get her tostones, I gave her a full order that I had orddered extra, because I felt bad. When I called to tell them that they had forgot to include them in her bowl, they said that it was an "either or choice" and that if I had "read" the description I would have "known" that. I told them we didn't read, THEIR order website only shows pictures and shows BOTH included and that it what we went by! The response was "oh, that's not how I do it, I read the description"..and I said, their is NO DESCRIPTION and if it's either or, then the picture shouldn't show both....and his response to that was "that's not me that's my brother"....the converstation ended with "listen, I have a catering order I'm really worried and stressing about, just tell me what you want and I'll do it, it's just that I'm really busy right now"..... And that just saddened me. $16.99 for a bowl of rice and beans and barely any meat, and this is how you responsd? read more

What a disappointment! The sandwiches have minimal filling and 1 little slice of pickle on each half. Everything seems microwaved. I don't think it's really Cuban bread either. It's just cut in the Cuban style. A total waste of money so try a different place. Not a very busy place. read more

I have eaten to the location in elk Grove Village. The sandwiches wasn't too bad. I tried the Roselle location. I was not too impressed. The black beans and rice was a little dry. It was lacking a little bit. The place was beautiful and clean. Service was good. I was really not impressed with the to go boxes. They serve the food in, but if you're in a mood for a Cuban sandwich, try it out great for the suburbs. read more

Really good Cubano & avocado salad, delicious pastries and good coffee!! Little bit pricy but worth it!

Can't wait to get all the different types of sandwiches. 1st couple are great! Avocado salad was a good choice for me.
