I shop here early in the mornings when there is less customers. Today @ the end of aisle 7 I saw two employees chatting so I patiently waited for them to finish. I then asked "if I was honey, where would I be?" The kind fella told me exactly where it would be located in aisle 6, then pointed across the meat case nearest me to say he had a display there and there was one more display in the produce section. Thank you friendly and informative Cub employee! It's good information for future visits too. If you go early in the morning sometimes there can be a delay in the garbage cans being removed from the IN doors, no fear, they are open you just have to use the OUT doors. If you go early, there are the self checkouts and only th register 8 cashier. I was surprised to learn several months ago when I tracked down an employee to buy some of the plant based "meat" that was on sale that he said "we don't carry that at this store, we're considered inner city so we don't always carry everything in the ads". That was the only item I have ever encountered such an issue with and was able to head a few miles away to the Larpenteur store in Roseville for the item. This cub foods could be better one. hiring process is horrible they only want to hire the young and under experience. two. the store is a little confusing meaning its not quite organized. I think the deli guy is on drugs. I went here on sunday roughly 6 p.m. I waited in line for about 5 minutes because a lady in line ordered smoked ham. This tall stocky man with black hair was soft spoken. After shaving the meat he handed the lady the bag. The lady then said explained she didnt want the hickory ham but the smoked. 5 minutes later the problem was fixed. I asked him " Can I have a lb. of buffalo chicken and can I have that shave d please." "Yes" the man repelied. He handed me .7 lbs of thick sliced buffalo chicken. I walked away not wanting to wait. I was going to order cheese as well but decided to go and grab it in a package. read more

Every grocery store has its place. If you need to buy massive amounts of dry goods, you go to Costco. If you want to be fawned upon by employees, you go to Lund's/Byerly's. If you want office supplies, socks and DVDs at your grocery store, you go to SuperTarget. Cub Foods--and especially *this* Cub Foods--specializes in quality meat and produce at reasonable prices. The produce employees focus on in-season items, remove bruised goods, and rotate frequently. I can tell, because I find I don't have to be extremely picky to avoid problem produce. The quality of the packaged meat is also outstanding, much better than other stores and chains. I purchase pork chops, ground beef, and chuck roast frequently, and the meat I get here is much better than I get anywhere else. I cook nearly every meal for my family of four, and the quality of what I make depends on the quality of what I buy. For freshness, I rate this Cub second only to the farmers' market. Dry goods aren't a strength. You'll get better selection at Target, and better prices at lots of places. And of course, you'll have to bag your own groceries. Some cashiers are, ahem, slower than others. I self-checkout if I can. If you don't mind these inconveniences, Cub is a great place to shop. read more

This Cub Foods is a Byzantine labyrinth of constantly changing shelf placement. There is no pattern for how things are set up, and about 1/5 of the total floor-space is reserved for pallets of clearance items that nobody wants or needs. The selection also seems to somehow be worse than your typical Cub foods, and the produce isn't particularly fresh whenever I go. But it is clean, safe, and brightly lit with wide aisles. So there's that I guess. Prices are pretty good, similar to any other Cub. Pretty bad location overall. read more

The produce is frequently rotten. I have purchased raspberries only to get home and they were moldy. Potatoes that where rotten, luckly we caught that before we left the store. When I used to buy raspberries I had to go through several packages to find some that were good. I gave up in buying them. I have complained and one time was told that the strawberries should have been checked every couple if days. Yesterday I was told the produce is checked every day. I think the apples I bought were rotting for more that one day. Very frustrating. When I called about the apples I was told I could return them. I have better things to do than return rotten fruit. Very Clean. Organized. Fresh Meat and Produce. Staff is Cool. Went here twice during my stay in Roseville. I must say I cant complain. Definitely your regular local grocery store, nothing too different about it except that there's a police inside the store for peace and control. Well, who knows sale on Isle 5 might cause stampede and raucous after all. A police officer then is much needed on call at Cub Foods. 4 Stars because not everything is in one place. I don't quite understand how the whole store is organized. It is organized alright, but not all cheeses are in one place. Not all salsas are and not all everything are. You won't really notice that until you go to another isle and find that a cheaper salsa is over there so now you forget where to return the other one you thought was already cheaper. That was what I thought was weird about it. Also if you actually pay attention and get groceries at different places, Cub Foods is priced much higher and differently - I can safely say a couple dollars. Will I ever shop here again? of course, it's too close to home. But I wouldn't mind driving else where to save more money. read more

This was my neighborhood grocery store for most of my youth. It set the bar for what a big, efficient grocery store could be. I measured every other experience against it for another 5 years after moving south - and really most major chains couldn't compare. But these days, it appears the gap has widened to the lesser chains. There are some awful Krogers, Albertsons, Ralphs, etc. But there are also some shining stars like Publix and Whole Foods. Quality produce, meat, and bakery items. Reasonable prices. A huge selection. If I still lived in the neighborhood, I would definitely shop there. The selection at the adjacent liquor store was a bit smaller than expected. read more

I have been to this cub foods many times and I've never had a problem until Sunday March 8th 2020. I bought a bag of dog food, Iams proactive health minichunks for adult dogs. I've been using this same brand for about a year and a half now. Fed it to my dog that night. Next morning around 5am I wake up to my dog having diarrhea inside on a rug and then again in the bathroom. You could hear everything coming out of him and the smell was awful. Took him outside to go potty and he kept having diarrhea. I let him relax in his crate and he continued to throw up in there. He wouldn't eat or drink water. Figured he got into something, like the cat litter box or cat food etc. I went home to my other dog and fed him the same food last night. And early this morning he woke me up puking and needed to go potty outside, he had diarrhea instantly. So now I have two sick dogs and the only logical explanation is this bad dog food I bought. Not sure if all the bags of this brand are like this or I just got a bad one, but I needed to let others know. - I also called Cub foods to let them know and the woman over the phone didn't really care about the situation or make it seem like she'd pass the message on and check the other bags of dog food or whatever protocol is. She just said okay and proceeded to hang up. I will be contacting Iams dog food as well. Hope they can get this figured out so more dogs don't get sick like mine. read more

Shopped here since I was a kid. Come here every so often. Customer service lady is such a know it all. Any who, since the clovid19 they blocked off and did a one way to get to customer service. I didn't realize and walked the wrong way to customer service, there's nobody in line and the Caucasian lady looks at me and gives me the ugliest stare saying I'm entering the wrong way. I realize I went the wrong way but I'm already there. She didn't have to be such an ass. FYI. I wasn't trying to be rude and intentional like this cub foods worker! With her ugly look she gave me. The produce is always old and they don't rotate it plus it doesn't come in daily like other Cubs. They never have what I am looking for in stock and no one ever has a device to scan and check. That's if I can find someone. Lastly I understand why this store isn't stocked, it's extremely dirty and you cannot find any help because every time I come here I find the manager and the employees outside smoking or standing around the registers. They could be stocking, researching products to order in, taking counts, cleaning and providing customer service. Not smoking and texting on their cellphones. I use to run a cub foods as a General manager and trust me when I say this is the worst cub foods I've seen in awhile. I drive an extra 20 minutes else where. read more

Decent place if you are close by. Ive noticed items be cheaper here sometimes than other cubs, so thats a plus. Good produce if u stick to whats in season and buy the sale items. Not the cheapest place im sure but definitely reasonable for the most part...just be flexible and shop smart. Good cheap canned goods and dry stuff like pasta, beans, lentils, rice etc. not so great for more specialty items like quinoa, quite expensive here. Same goes for much of the "ethnic" foods. If you are buying heavy on those, there are better places for sure. Love the old home refrigerated peanut butter. Not sure who else carries that but its great. They carry synergy kombucha tea which is expensive but it is everywhere else also. Stuff is delicious (mango, strawberry and original are the best imo) Good frozen veggies except they need frozen kale at this location! Watch for the sales and load up as it keeps long and very convenient...peas, corn, broccoli, brussels, collards etc even beans. Frozen fruit is good on some sales, but otherwise the bulk stores frozen fruit seems a way better deal imo. Nice selection of oils and spices and all that. Cheap dry popcorn and roasted peanuts, two great snacks. Some decent bulk items as well. Alt-milks arent the best price here. I like soy milk (the real stuff, not a bunch of sugar and junk added) and i cam get much cheaper and cleaner at TJs. I skip most everything else. Lines usually not too bad. Few self checkouts. No bad employee experiences. read more
