I'm new to the area, and came here in search of one thing: artisan cheese. I was pleased to find a large cheese counter with many new-to-me offerings. The greatest focus was on Wisconsin, complete with promotional displays, which was great, though I had hoped to find more Minnesota cheeses as well. I did find a couple mini jars of local honey, though, which I'm excited to try. read more

I stopped here for coffee at Caribou and happened to take a stroll in this grocery store. What a beautiful grocery store! It was so clean and the folks here were so nice. The gentleman working at Caribou gave me A+ customer service, and I was so grateful. There's also a large dining room that is quite spacious. A nice place to work and pass time. I happened to stop in during customer appreciation day too, so they were giving out free hotdogs, chips, and coke. Will be back in the near future! read more

I loved salad bar and hot items available! 9.99 a lb for salad bar and hot items! They even have a taco bar. I got 4 Panko crusted shrimp, mashed potatoes, 1 boneless small short rib, Mac n cheese, carnitas, pico, tortilla chips. All of this in a bowl for under 5 bucks! You can't beat this deal! I really liked this grocery store! The energy and dark atmosphere here is its downfall. The energy at kowalskis down the road with its friendly staff is a better environment. I will be back here. I come here a few times a month as it's super close to home and they always have great chicken/meat sales on the left right when you walk in. They always have fresh greens vs a lot of other major grocery retailers. It's always super clean and love that they bag your groceries for you and offer to bring it to your car. I'm a huge fan of the fresh salad bar and the sushi place they have in the store. read more

I love this store! They've got a good selection of everything. The produce is amazing as well as the pre made items (salad, sandwiches). I always use the self checkout and it's super quick. But the absolutely best thing about this store is it's carpeted. I have never been to a store with carpeting. It's awesome and makes the whole place cozy. read more

There's a scene in World War Z where Brad Pitt drives his family to a random grocery store to stock up on food and medical supplies. (It's before the part where they meet a Latino family that helps them for a minute that later decides not to follow Brad and co. out of the zombie-infested city.) If I lived in Woodbury and the Zombie Apocalypse happened, I would definitely swing by this lovely grocery store to prepare for the end. However, instead of a gun, I'd probably carry my dad's battle staff (used to cut the legs of horses) or his katana. Maybe both? Ooh, and some nunchucks. Just one, though. In the land Hoodbury, aka the suburb where almost every damn 3M employee lives, every major chain is on steroids. And this Byerly's is no exception (although, most Byerly's are in the burbs)... And in this case, bigger is better: +A million of everything. +Spacious (since it took over a Cub Foods, I think.) +Friendly staff. +Sales everywhere. +Reasonable prices that aren't much different from their competitors. +Tons of parking. I also learned that they'll soon be housing a US Bank. That means, I can stock up on food, medical supplies, and withdraw some cash before hitting I-94 on out of the TC. read more

Selection of food is great especially prepped food and meals for one, customer service is pretty much non existent. Cashiers/baggers literally act like you're being inconvenient just by going through the regular line and not the self checkout. When I did use self checkout to avoid interacting I was pretty much accosted at the door saying I can't take the cart out because there's no cart corral in the parking lot. I mean I'm considerate enough to walk the cart back when this is the case but apparently they didn't trust me to do so, I ended up carrying out my bags and two 12 packs of pop in my arms. I thought the reason they charged so much for items was for the level of service but this is clearly not the case. I miss the old suburban Byerly's location, they were top notch. This place? Not so much. I pretty much only come here when there's a good sale price but after my last visit I may just stick to Target or Cub which are both better price and service. read more

This is the first huge combo store I've been in and I love it. It was around 4 and I had to get a lot of produce. I swear I was in this aisle for half an hour. I got some vine on local tomatoes that were a little too hard so I cooked with those. The roma were perfect for sandwiches and salads. These stores are for the lazy who need cut up fruits and veggies. I desperately needed sweet potatoes for a stew. No problem, already done. I was in angst over potatoes for a shepherds pie, and hell if mashed potatoes were ready made across the other side. There were some good sales on Creamette 3 for $3. Who needs fancy brands at that price. I bought a lot more produce and found some squeeze ginger. I'm doing enough chopping these days. I even found some Kerry gold garlic butter. This place is so huge I couldn't even find the bread aisle. This isn't your quick in and out place. The lot isn't super close to the door and this really cool guy let me wheel the big cart to my car so it would hold me up. read more

Beautiful, clean store with friendly employees and a relaxing atmosphere. It's almost like leisure grocery shopping... If that's possible. Very nice layout, easy parking, and there's a Caribou Coffee inside as well! Love it. The focus here seems to be on a quality and they're definitely at the level of Kowalski's and Whole Foods but it just feels more down to earth here. read more

I love lunds as an option for a quick dinner! They have so many freshly prepared items, and my all time favorite is sushi Wednesday!! 6.00 sushi and it is DELICIOUS! I was always very wary of grocery store sushi until I tried this! It was soo good! This lunds is always very clean, and has a Starbucks inside. I enjoy going, grabbing lunch, and studying at their fantastic lunch area. So many tables, and so many options! read more

The taco bar has the best Mexican food in town. Seriously! You can choose chips, soft shell, hard shell tacos or make a taco salad. It is serve your self so you can make your tacos exactly like you want them. There is four kinds of meat that are crazy good. Pork carnitas, beef asada, ground seasoned beef, chicken tikka. They always have a fish of the day too. 2 kinds of beans, several salsas, cheese, 2 kinds of lettuce and so much more. They charge by the pound just like a salad bar. I usually get 3 huge hard shell tacos with lettuce and cheese for under 10$. There is a very nice cafe area and patio for seating with soft drinks. Just gotta try it to believe it. Hold the phone! Crabby Abby was clocked in this morning! On a lovely snowy morning in the Twin Cities I decided to run over to Bylerlys to pick up a few things. I like to check out their weekly specials! I don't think I could afford to do all my shopping there . I was so excited when I proceeded to the check out because I thought I discovered a few unexpected deals. Boy, was I wrong! One item still had signage up from the previous week and the other items were priced as marked. Oh well... Lesson learned about paying attention to dates on signage. The part of the experience that did not sit well with me was my interaction with the cashier AKA crabby Abby. In the midst of ringing me up, she was engaging with colleagues in attempt to trade a shift. Then she appeared to get irritated with me due to me not wanting the 3 items I thought were a different price . In my opinion I also feel that the price could have been honored as it is not my fault that old signage was up. A smile and kindness go a long way! Experiences as such discourage me from continue shopping at establishments. read more

Their slogan should be "The customer is always wrong." Utterly hopeless customer service. Their people have NO TRAINING in how to respond to customers. L&B's default is always to blame the customer. Just hopeless. I think they're heartless, actually. Please be warned: DO NOT TRUST their sales. Check your receipts every time. Don't expect to be treated as a valued customer, ever, no matter how much you spend there. If you want to really take a leap into the abyss, order online. Lordy. Be very very watchful of everything. L&B is deceptive, shifty, unresponsive, just clueless. I've given up and can't continue shopping there. Very sad about this, but it's just not worth the incessantly aggravating way they treat customers. read more

I went to Lunds & Byerly's (WOODBURY) on Jan 8,2022. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEIR BAKERY YOU WILL BE DISSAPPOINTED!!! My Kids were coming for dinner and I didn't feel like cooking. The fried chicken or rotisserie chicken there is fabulous at L&B so I figured I would get the chicken a couple of salads and a cake. My daughter was with me. She picked a coconut/lemon cake as she knew these were flavors her dad would love. After we all had dinner I served the cake for dessert. It was a flop. For 1 thing the cake was neither coconut nor lemon. This was a stale dry white cake that had barely any lemon in the filling and the coconut was pressed into an overly sweet canned sugar frosting (Betty Crocker's is better). The cake was dry and tasted like it had been frozen then thawed so you could taste it had been refrigerated for what seemed too long. The buy by date was the Jan. 13, so I expected it to be fresher. The biggest burn about buying this cake besides the fact that their customer service did not care when I contacted them. I had spent $25 on a stale dried out, flavorlesss cake that everyone left most on their plates. No-one ate a full piece of cake. The temperature the next few days was -2* and 0* so rather than go out I contacted the Lunds & Byerly's to explain how bad this cake was. I expected they would offer me a store credit to pick up at a later date. The Woodbury store did not respond at all. I used to think this store was of the same quality as Kowalski's but I was sorely mistaken. Kowalski's cakes are fabulous. Last time my daughter came home from India I bought a cake there and she still remembered it this time, I assured her a Lund's and Byerly's cake would be just as good but I was very wrong even Cub Foods make a better cake than Lund's and Byerly's. It was the worst cake I have ever bought and the $25 price tags makes it sting worse as it was not your standard full size round cake it was smaller. DO Better Lund's & Byerly's. Kowalskis is not far from L&B Go there to buy dessert. read more

Cowabunga! If i lived closer to this place I know I would be spending double on groceries. There are just too many unique and cool ingredients that you don't find at a normal store. Everything is displayed nicely. They have cute gifts for people on display as you are shopping like air plants and spa candles--fancy lotions and chocolates. A ready to go food area that I have been eating at lately and ya know it is a dang good value~. They have a fancy dancy pet area with food that you typically have to go to the pet store to purchase. I'm going to preface my review with stating the fact I had zero loyalty to Rainbow and didn't much mind that they went away. Anyway, I am very excited to have a Byerly's in the town I work in. I'm so excited that it's officially done with construction and all the bells and whistles that I am accustomed to with the other Byerlys (namely the sushi counter) are open and fully functioning. Speaking about the sushi counter, since I just am about addicted to Sushi Wednesday (uhhh $6 select Sushi, folks!) they also do some strange Sushi Burrito thing unique to Woodbury and only one other Byerlys in Edina. It's reminscent of a Chipotle Burrito as far as size, but the flavor, of course, has a distinctly sushi taste. Produce here is unrivaled and worth the extra couple bucks. Let's just all get over the fact Rainbow is a thing of the past and embrace the gift known as Byerlys that has been given to Woodbury! read more

Well, I haven't been inside before when it was Rainbow. However, I have been to Rainbows and not exactly my first pick for supermarket. I do love the layout of this supermarket and everything being nice, clean and neat. Overall, I like this grocery and it's nearby my place. We stop here sometimes to get milk as well. [UPDATE] I submitted $9.50 worth of manufacturer coupons with my order (# 25305) on June 21st, and I have submitted 3 more orders since, with no credits applied, even though your policy states the credits will be "automatically applied to your next online shopping order". The last time I had to inquire about coupon credits after waiting a good amount of time for them to appear, I was told by a rep by a reply email that your coupon processing can take up to 14 days, but it's now day 20 and I've yet to see the credits applied. I totally understand time it takes to do this, but was just curious as to why this has become such a problem, it never was, in the past. I hate to mention competition, but the Coborns Delivers website allow the coupons to be entered and are applied right to the order at submission, and keep the credit/savings to the customer intact, provided the coupon meets their guidelines and isn't expired, which to me, is more valuable as a customer wanting to save on an order and be able to use the money I save on something besides my next grocery bill. I'm seriously considering taking my grocery delivery money elsewhere if this continues to be a problem, and that would be really bad, because I LOVE the Woodbury store in every other aspect, and have otherwise received nothing but pleasant, consistent top-notch service! Were my coupons invalid, or was there something else wrong with them? I do appreciate you looking into this and getting back to me at your earliest convenience, with a response that either clears up all the ambiguity surrounding your policy on coupons, or offers another solution to how I can submit orders in the future without wasting the additional time it takes finding and clipping coupons which are not even being used after all the effort. The recent renovation of the store has brought with it an incredible selection of ready to eat foods as well as the fresh stuff. I tend to limit my shopping to the outside of the store and have been wonderfully impressed with the breadth of the selection as well as the obvious quality. This isn't a Rainbow or a Cub. If you're expecting low cost and are willing to accept food with lower nutritional values, this is not your grocery store. If, however, you're looking for a wide selection of fresh mushrooms or locally grown vegetables or ethically raised meat, this store will have your mouth watering in an instant. It's also worth mentioning that they have a substantial pet food and supply section. Without trying to sound too pretentious, my cat is only able to eat whole, wet food and this is the best range of quality pet food I've seen in any one place. It's good to see that there is a grocery store for people who want quality over quantity. If that sounds like you, this Byerly's is worth checking out. read more

This review is for the various eat-in or take-out food options. First off you have soooooo much to choose from. A taco bar, sushi, Chinese, salad bar, sandwiches, and a hot food bar that offers different food options every day. and God Bless them....a Caribou! The Chinese hot bar is my favorite. Hands down some of the best Chinese food in the area. It's self serve and measured by pound. Even though it is a self serve option, there is always an employee there to help you. The taco bar is your standard taco bar but offers healthier options than most other grocery store taco bars. This is also a self serve, or 'build your own taco' service. The salad bar is your average self serve salad bar. One option that I have not seen at other grocery store salad bars is fresh grilled veggies. The sushi here is a notch above the other grocery store options in the area. They also offer an option I have never heard of before: a burrito style sushi wrap. It's quite big so make sure you have a ravenous appetite if you order. Ramen bowls are also available: not as tasty as others I've had, but pretty decent for a grocery store option. The daily hot bar is well, if I had to use one word it would be 'awesome'. The options vary daily but you can count on a hot dish to always be available. I would recommend the mac and cheese if it is available; it's not an every day staple. Some of the hot bar choices include: roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, hash browns, fried chicken, chicken and sausage gumbo, rice, biscuits, baked fish, bbq tips and the list goes on. You will find something to try (& like) here for sure! The weekend hot bar had breakfast options that include quiche, eggs, potatoes and blueberry stuffed french toast. That stuff is good y'all! The L&B ready to eat options are becoming quite popular. On a recent visit we had to wait for a table to clear. I'm always happy to see quality establishments like this thrive. There are approximately 5 (and counting) grocery stores in Woodbury and this is one that you should try. The customer service is outstanding and the store is immaculate. On a recent visit I was bagging my own groceries (I don't mind doing this especially if all other baggers are busy) and the store manager offered to not only bag my groceries, but to even take them out to my car. That is customer service that is pleasantly unexpected and greatly appreciated! read more

The Lunds & Byerlys Wine & Spirits which is adjoined to the grocery store is now requiring the customer's drivers license to be scanned into their system to verify age. Scans like that typically collect more than just age and I worry if their system is secure enough for my personal data. Too, are they using the information for marketing or other business use? Will they sell it? Seems like an overreach since they can just check the date on my license. I like the market and the convenience of having a liquor store but I will be purchasing my wine and spirits elsewhere. read more

Our president is always so personable/friendly, our district manager acknowledges us individually and is even getting me in training classes for management, and my general manager and department managers are fun and encouraging. What I wouldn't give to have Rainbow back!! If you want niche grocery items, ambiance, small selection and higher prices - go to Kowalski's! When Roundy's took over this Rainbow and remodeled, it was a huge improvement. No one store is going to please everyone but they had awesome sales and a huge selection of grocery items - albeit not upscale. I don't need carpet in my grocery aisles, and I also don't need the aisles to be so short with so few options. I stopped going to Cub years ago because Rainbow had better prices and was more convenient. Once Target added more groceries to their store, I bought a fair amount there. Now when I go to Target, their shelves are empty which leads me to believe that a lot of other former Rainbow customers are now doing as much of their grocery shopping at Target as possible - myself included! Target's price on Thomas English Muffins - about $2; Byerly's - $4 - double!! Their pomegranates were on SALE for $3 each - which will get you two at Cub. I might as well go back to Coborn's Delivers and save myself the hassle of shopping. Can't wait until Jerry's is open; hopefully they'll be a reasonable alternative to the current choices. I realize I live in Woodbury and it doesn't matter if I make minimum wage or a million dollars - the prices at Byerly's are ridiculous! I'm looking for quality food at a decent price, not an "experience" - this over priced priced, niche store just adds to the stereotype of Woodbury residents. read more

We had Lunds deliver all of the non-alcoholic drinks for our wedding and it worked out perfectly! I was a little nervous with the delivery going to a wedding venue in Cottage Grove but it was no issue. Our delivery window was 9-11am and when we arrived shortly after 9 the driver had already unloaded everything to the bar area. read more

The bakery chef here is very stingy with how they make their pastries and cakes. I came here and ordered the passionfruit cake for my father's birthday and when i went to go pick it up, there were barely any fruits on the cake and they were very stingy with the topping decorations on how the ACTUAL cake is supposed to look like. The actual cake is supposed to be filled with lots of berries on the top of the cake where u can barely see the surface on top of the cake! And what the chef here that was trying to give me barely had ANY berries on the cake. Ridiculous and not a good impression at all! The bakery here in woodbury was such a bummer! I did not spend a dime on that cake because i knew i could go to a different location that actually made it right and make my money's worth! Step it up to your bakery chef there in woodbury! I visited the Woodbury store today and attempted to pay using ApplePay. I was told it was supported. The clerk asked me for the last 4-digits of my credit card. I asked why, since this is not part of the ApplePay payment protocol (http://www.apple.com/apple-pay/) and transactions are authenticated by fingerprint. I have used ApplePay at many other merchants and have never had this issue. After providing the last 4-digits of the credit card, the payment was still not approved. A supervisor eventually came over and told me that I needed to provide the "coin" which still doesn't make sense. Then she went into the back room and came back with a sheet of paper with highlights saying that I need to provide the last 4 digits of the "token". While ApplePay does generate a token, it is not visible to the user (me) and I am unable to provide it to the clerk. Providing the token would not increase the security of the transaction. It appears that they are trying to shoehorn new technology into an old system, but it doesn't work. How can they say that they support a payment method that could be used by up to 50% of the US smartphone users, then fail to have the first clue as to how to support it? Has anyone ever tested paying with ApplePay at their stores? As a company aiming to provide a premium shopping experience, how is it that low-cost merchants like Trader Joes and Walgreens are providing a service that they are unable to? In the end, I was forced to complete my transaction with a standard credit card (ten minutes later). I have a lot of other grocery shopping choices in Woodbury and will shop elsewhere as a result of this experience. read more

i called the woodbury store yesterday regarding my annual request about arrival of butterball b0ne-i butterball 3-4 pound turkey breasts. for over thirty years byerlys had the courtesy check the size ranges for me. this time they rattled off that they only had a case of six pound ones which i know from long time shopping at byerlys is not typical, true, nor useable in my case. they have ruined my thanksgiving and were rude about it. read more

I'm not a fan of grocery shopping. I would avoid it at all costs if I could, but this Woodbury Lunds & Byerlys has converted me. It's very clean, usually well-stocked and full of quality produce. The store is orderly and the products are always pulled forward. And the aisles... they're incredibly roomy, easily twice the width of a standard aisle. They also aren't crowded with a maze of displays like many other stores (even other locations of Lunds & Byerlys) so it's easy to navigate and see what you're looking for. I also appreciate the attention to checking customers out quickly or opening up additional registers if needed. I rarely have to wait to be checked out. The prices are somewhat higher than stores like Cub or Jerry's, and they may have fewer specialty options than a Kowalski's or Whole Foods. Ultimately though this location of Lunds & Byerlys provides a great shopping experience that I haven't found in other grocery stores. read more
