The phlebotomist came in and took my labs. The process was quick and painless. I had a good experience.

They have a clever system: Before entering, you check in at a computer kiosk outside of the suite by scanning your drivers license and then scanning your insurance card. The computer then matches you up with your appointment record and whatever test was ordered by your doctor. It also notifies the one employee that you have arrived. The phlebotomist who works there is really very nice, quite patient and easygoing, so she puts one at ease. I was the only patient during my late afternoon visit.

Sign in at the kiosk, sit down, go to the desk when your name is called. I had prepaid, so I handed Michele my paperwork. The phlebotomists moved quickly. When I was called, Michele, a woman of many talents, turned out to be a phlebotomist, too. I'm used to getting finger sticks for INR, but a venipuncture was required. I DIDN'T EVEN FEEL THE NEEDLE GO INTO MY VEIN, which Michele found on the first try! Usually, I'm like a pin cushion when others have drawn blood from me. SHE IS GREAT! The worst front desk customer service…read more This was after I had already gone to the Kyle location for walk-in X-rays and was told their tech was out. That part I completely understand--life happens. What I didn't appreciate was being told that I should have called ahead to check whether they were doing walk-ins. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of offering walk-in X-rays, especially when the website says they are available? I called this location before making the additional drive and confirmed they were accepting walk-ins. When I arrived, the front desk person simply nodded at me. It wasn't clear whether she was acknowledging me or telling me to come forward, so I asked if she wanted me to move forward. She just nodded again. There was no greeting, no verbal direction, and no attempt to make the interaction welcoming or even clear. Her demeanor gave me the distinct impression that she simply did not care about the person standing in front of her. Customer service matters everywhere, but it especially matters in healthcare. Patients may already be anxious about why they need imaging in the first place. Basic courtesy and clear communication should not be too much to expect. I would not return to this location. Update: I do want to add that once I was taken back for my X-rays, the imaging experience was wonderful. Daisy, who performed my imaging was kind, professional, and made that portion of the visit a very positive experience. Unfortunately, that does not change my assessment of the front-desk customer service, which was extremely poor and is the reason I would not return to this location.
