First time on a busy Saturday and they were very efficient and got me through the initial screening right away. The staff was friendly and and helpful. Enjoyed their humor but also keeping it professional. The initial process is a little long and maybe some of that could be done ahead of time to cut down on the time, but overall, a pretty good experience. I'd definitely recommend doing this if you want a few extra bucks for a little of your time with the benefit of knowing you are helping people. I plan to keep donating. read more

When I first started coming here a year ago, it was short staffed, the people didn't enjoy coming to work it seemed, and I had experienced bruising that left me out of commission for plasma donation. They were really good about me having to take a leave and gave me an extension on the special promotion where I had to donate 8 times in 45 days in order to make $825. When I came back to donate, some people remembered me and were very friendly. Now they have gotten more staff, the employees enjoy being together and it feels like a big family. I enjoy coming in and I feel very comfortable here. I've met some people here I will always remember. I'm glad that the mindset of the staff is growth not fixed. They really are going out of their way to make this an enjoyable experience and attend to the needs of everyone who are involved. Usually not too long of a wait and a lot of the staff are pretty cool/friendly. New staff can be tough because they're usually inexperienced but most staff aren't new. Laid back human cattle experience that pays really well for new donors. Just a heads-up taking a lot of plasma out of your body definitely makes you feel drained so take the whole eat and drink before and after stuff seriously. I've definitely noticed a decrease in performance at the gym even several days after donating. Probably not a great idea to donate constantly - your body needs the plasma too. But if you are going to donate, this is the spot to do it. A lot more friendly than octapharma with a good staff that treats you like a human (they'll actually learn your name dude) - not so much a number (even though they do give you one of those lol) read more

I got in when they were closing early on that day because of some meeting, but Sherri was so nice and happy to still check me in and get me through the pre-screening. Quick and friendly service. Explained the risks and procedures thoroughly, several times, in several ways, which is helpful, because it's a lot of information. You also have to advocate for yourself-ask questions and ask for details about the bonus program and how to use the payment card (there are lots of tips and tricks). Even though the workers were pleasant, they totally had poor time management and total disregard for the donor. After watching a totally redundant video of something they had just asked me to read I was told to go upfront. The employee watched me walk past her and go upfront as instructed. Called for someone else to enter her room. As I stood standing and waiting for her or the other gal to come and help me, eventually after the cleared the line the other gal told me to go sit in the back. I do so. Once the previous gal that had been helping me was done helping another lady, she told me she going to take a 15 minute break. She also told her coworker that had seen me standing upfront when I had initially arrived to go on break. Talk about poor timing. It's already a long process and they had made it that much longer. The only reason why it's long is due to the poor staffing and awful time management of the employees. The employees also could have had much better hygiene practice considering they're dealing with body fluids and that they're working with the public. The place was also rather dirty. read more

First time utilizing CSL Plasma and all the staff were helpful good natured and professional. They will be seeing me again.

I really like this center. Easy money when finances are tight. I have been to another center that was awful, really gross and spent hours there each time. They post times that are less busy, so I try to go during those hours. I usually get through in roughly 2 hours. The employees are always kind to me, and sometimes they chat playfully to each other but that doesn't bother me. I wear headphones and catch up on reading or games. Clientele is often a little less than my cup of tea but what anyone should expect for being paid $70 a week for 4 hours of your time. Eat healthy and drink lots of water and you shouldn't have many issues. Just be smart. Be courteous to employees too and you will get great service. read more

The employees have no regard for the people who are donating and/or their time. They carry on personal conversations and watch the lines back up and also will leave the floor (I'm assuming for break) leaving donors to wait extremely long wait times!! It took 55 minutes to get in the chair today, and there was only 2 people in front of me when I arrived!!! Hey you want to get new gloves because there's blood on them NOT FROM ME! I mean really this is ideally a very clean place witch it is but really. I mean holy hell I saw this lady help out 8 people without changing gloves. I'm sorry no ONE person equals new gloves. If I get anything from this place I will freak the hell out. She was very bad at her job, in addition to that she called my freckles on my arm user scars or somthing along those lines. HMMM I HAVE freckles like most light completion people!!! I come here because I have to. Very little respect for their donors time. All the times I've been here there have been empty beds and a line of donors waiting. They don't keep enough staff on hand to fit the beds so I think it's disrespectful to hold people for longer than is necessary. You should keep enough staff to keep all the beds occupied and minimize donor wait time. T should not take this much time out of my day to donate. read more

Today was my first time donating. All staff I came into contact with were kind and knowledgeable. The whole place is clean. I was there for a little less than 3 hours, reasonable for everything that is done to assure patient knowledge and safety. Actual donation took me 58 minutes. Please do not go to this CSL Plasma location unless you have absolutely no other choice! When you enter the facility things are clean and orderly enough. Large, heart tugging banners and posters are displayed prominently throughout. Pictures with captions like "I wish I could give each of you a hug," or "are you an angel, where are your wings?" All designed to make you feel warm, fuzzy and noble. It was tolerably clean, but not like my doctors office. Everything looks and feels just a little shabby. The staff was slow to respond, indifferent, and while not flat out rude, definitely gave the impression that they could barely be bothered to help me. I walked in; stood at the "New Donors" counter, where 3 "technicians" were working. Not one of them looked away from their computer monitors OR acknowledged my presence. After waiting approximately a minute and 30 seconds, someone from the opposite side of their "office" asked if I needed help. I said I did. He asked for my ID, which I handed over. He checked it in their computer system. I guess to see if I was on the National Do Not Donate Register. (that is not the correct official name) I was handed a packet of laminated papers on a ring, a purple colored "donor card" and told to go "wait in the lobby." Be aware, there is quite a LONG & INVOLVED process to donate. I am fine with that. I understand they have Federal and State regulations to follow as well as medical checks and tests to perform. I sat down and read all of the literature cover to cover. It explains the process, possible reactions you may have, what they do with your personal and medical information, what happens if someone is accidentally exposed to your blood and plasma or if you are exposed to theirs. It is very thorough. The first page is a "rate sheet" that tells you how much you will be paid to donate. Clearly, they have a well paid legal department. At the 45 minute mark I was called in to watch a video. The "technician" gave me headphones and sat me in front of a monitor. The video is nothing more than a re-explanation of everything I had just read. I guess in case some people didn't read the information, don't read well, or need a different method of imparting the information. Fair enough. At the 1 hour 5 minute mark I was called into an "examination room" by the same technician that handed me the headphones. It wasn't until this point that I was asked for my identification again; AND my original Social Security Card. I stated flatly that I do not carry this document as that would be really insecure. (Also, the Social Security Administration recommends that you do not carry the original card for the same reason.) But that I had the number memorized and could give it to them. The technician got up, went and got a woman with long, white gray hair that I presumed to be a supervisor. She said that they had to see it, that it was "Required by the FDA." (Food & Drug Administration) and I could not donate until they saw the card OR my W-2 statement, another document I am not in the habit of carrying around. She said the reason for this was because people were donating to often, it was bad for their health, they were drug users etc. I stated that with my ID, if I gave them a false Social Security number it would not match my ID. She actually shook both of her gloved hands in my face, told me to shush and repeated her earlier statement saying I could argue but it wasn't going to change FDA requirement. She could not even look me in the eyes. A clear body language signal that she knows she is not telling the truth. She even stated that their competition "Octopharma" would ask for the original Social Security card as well. At that point I left. Here is my gravest customer service concern, NONE of the printed literature, the video or the person who helped me when I first stood at the counter informed me that I would have to produce my original Social Security card to donate plasma. Not once. I should have been told that fact when they asked for my identification. I would have left immediately had I known that fact. Instead, they felt free to waste an hour and forty minutes of my time. Extremely unprofessional. As a side note, additional internet research revealed the fact that "CSL Plasma" and "Ocotapharma" have the same Corporate Parent; Behring Pharmaceuticals. read more

First visit took 3 hours. Second visit they want me just to confirm with a nurse that I'm still taking the exact same meds that I was a week ago. Nurses go into a 15-30 meeting right as I sit down. 45 min later i tell the staff I can't wait any longer. My daughter got done 15 min later, nurses are still in meeting. This is ridiculous. You schedule meetings before or after work. Place is poorly run and I will not be going back to this facility again. They lost three people today because of this. At least the staff are pleasant and the phlebotomists seem skilled. That's why they get two stars. read more

Wish they would get some centralized training and get a few Cephalanalectomies. Wasted 4 days there and never got to donate! First time their nurse couldn't tell a routine blood test from a whole blood donation. So I e-mailed their corporate office and they said she was wrong and I could go back in and donate. Next two times were not their fault because my red blood cell count was too low. Forth time I'M PISSED!! I told them about my history of chest pain and medication changes the previous three times I went in. This time after sitting for 3 hours, I get told they need a copy of my most recent EKG from 7 months ago and a list of my current and discontinued medications. I was just at my doctor's office the day before and could have requested them if I would have been told they would need them. They also put a huge bruise on my partner's arm so he is unable to donate anymore because they don't know how to find a vein the first try and if you have a purple bruise you can't donate, even though THEY caused it! read more

I was a regular visitor and donator to the Vancouver site , until Saturday , when i was pulled aside and was notified that i needed to bring in a piece of mail with my home address on it . I was being refused due to the fact that someone told them i was spotted " panhandling " on a freeway off ramp . I then informed them that i work through a temporary agency and have been working ( over in Gresham ) . They refused to believe what I had told them but willing to believe the lie . later , i DID bring in some mail , but was then told it had to be a " rental agreement or utility bill " , i informed them i was told to bring in mail , they said no , rental agreement or utility bill , nothing else will work . nice to know the truth works ( sarcastically speaking ) . time for new management !!!!!!! read more

I was very impressed with this donation center. I got through registration and my initial exam within 1 1/2 hours. My donation took about 40 minutes so I was out of there way sooner then I expected. When I donated at places like BioMat it took 6 to 8 hours to register, and you did not get to donate same day! You only gave samples and then had to wait a week. I loved that CSL allowed me to donate the same day and paid me 50.00! Which is way more then I got on my first donation at BioMat. The location was clean and the people were really friendly. If your willing to give up a morning to register and do the exam then you'll walk out with 50 bucks in your pocket and the knowledge that your helping someone who really needs it! read more

After the last time I gave at the CSL plasma center I got very sick and now am terrified that I may have contracted something from there. The first time I went I was impressed by how thorough they seemed - and a little creeped out by how much information they asked for - SS#, DL, proof of home address, etc. - and of course now they will have DNA as well! Initially I thought they were being thorough and professional, but when I asked questions about how it all works, what they do with my information and how they store it (which any normal person might ask since places get hacked and ID theft is rampant). They were dismissive and threatened to ban me for 'giving them attitude' - not very professional. The atmosphere inside the clinic where the bed bays are, is more like a florescent frat house than a plasma center, with clinicians (even management) talking over donors across the room, sharing stories about 'sticking' donors and complaints about being there while counting down the minutes so they can 'get the hell out of there'!!! Meanwhile, the client base is a pretty rough crowd full of tats and looking generally unhealthy. Not judging tats, I love tats, but given their stringent admitting process it seems they turn the other way with return donors who are asked to come in presentable and hygienic. I've seen plenty who were neither. One time I saw a guy who was obviously so high he couldn't keep his eyes open during donation (against the rules) and they let him complete... Then I saw open sores on a couple across from me and vowed never again! But now I fear it's too late. How can they get away with that?! read more

I love the fact that they get you in and out fairly fast! Kiosk and testing take about 8 minutes max! However, this place is disgustingly dirty and the staff aren't super friendly. My first time going in there, I noticed the waiting area and computer chairs "blue" chairs, are straight up brown because they're so dirty. When I went back to donate, it's not hard to miss all the trash and caps all over the floor. Again, I REALLY like that they're so quick, I just don't like the non cleanliness of the facility. read more
