I had to call a lawyer for advice, and as they violated NC law by failing to follow procedure, they had to return the entire deposit. The check they sent me bounced, and the bank charged me. They wired money in to replace it, which added fees to my account as well. The water line in the rental property was broken and resulted in over $500 in extra water bills in my name, which the city will refund if the property provides a statement that it's been fixed, and they won't do that either. This means another lawyer fee for me to get this money back. They are total slumlords and sleazeballs and I am so glad I didn't get stuck in a lease with these crooks as it would be a nightmare. They were supposed to do a midyear inspection which didn't happen I relentlessly requested and finally done around the 10 months mark. There was drugs and smoking and an animal in the home and the 5 occupants in the home were never on the lease. I had to 3 months without a rent payment (tenants were already 1-2 months behind. Then it 3 months for the eviction so 6 months without income coming in from rent. The home was wrecked and since the water was turned off for the last months due to non-payment there was feces backed up in the toilets and plumbing issues, floor damage, etc. They use some warranty program instead a months deposit which they have told me numerous times they filed my receipts but yesterday was told the 6 person that was in "charge" left and it was never done. Now I can't get the gas turned back on in my name because left a $1500 bill and this Pure property management can't even get me a case # for the eviction they handled to supply to Piedmont Gas. I have filed a formal complaint with the NC Real estate Commission on this company.
