I was in the market for a new optometrist after moving here a couple years ago, so took my friends up on their review and decided to book an appointment. Dr. Permack was extremely kind, patient, and attentive. He took the time to run a number of tests on my eyes and make sure I was completely satisfied with the final prescription he prescribed. I also really appreciated that Dr. Permack paid attention to my family's ocular history and ensured that he ran a cornea mapping exam with some fancy new equipment he had! What most impressed me with Dr. Permack was that he was able to teach me how to put in contact lens and found me a type that I really liked. I've been resisting contacts for years now, and was so surprised when he was able to give me a pair of contacts that I could barely feel and actually could see through! All in all, I would recommend Dr. Permack without hesitation. If you're looking for a talented, conscientious optometrist, make sure to give him a call. Bonus points: Dr. Permack has these hilarious test 'glasses' that you can put on that let you test the prescription he recommends. Ask him to try them on and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Dr. Permack is extremely caring and honest, with his patients, based on my experience. He advised me that I could use glasses, but told me it wasn't completely necessary, due to my line of work. Dr. Permack was able to confidently answer all my questions and gave me good peace of mind. I would highly recommend Dr. Permack for your next eye appointment!

The first person on the phone quoted $400 and I thought it was a bit high. Called back two hours later and talked to someone else and got a price of $300. Brought a pair of frames to get new lenses put in. The technician in the back broke my frame trying to take the old lenses out. They seemed very eager and happy to recommend I buy a new frame from them. While looking at the very limited selection of frames at this location I found a pair that might be okay... they said they would give me $50 off because they broke my frame. When the sales associate looked into the computer for pricing after I had committed and they broke my frames all of a sudden the price was back up to $400! Keep in mind everything I got last year was in the system. So my information did not change.. I was getting the exact same thing again. The people who work here seem nice but its an illusion. Absolutely incompetent with information and trying to rip off customers. Be very careful with pricing at this location. Also do not trust the lab technician in the back. Took the frames they broke to the location I bought the frames and they were shocked that lenscrafters broke them. Don't do what I did and try and save a few bucks... they cant be trusted.

TERRIBLE DO NOT GO HERE I went to this optometrist April 9…read more2024. Dr. Christine Chen was great When I went to purchase my glasses even though the guy Sean had my script in front of him. he didn't get the order correct. I was told I have the beginings of cataracts and should always wear sunglasses outside but he didn't offer me the option of darkening glasses. I told them I spend at least 12 hours in front of a computer and he didn't even ask about the blue screen protector. I called back yesterday at 5:05 pm and I know they close at 5 but really if I'm in the office 5 minutes after close I pick up the phone. I left 2 messages not to place the order that I wanted it cancelled. All I can use the glasses they sold me for is reading books. I have 6 pairs of reading glasses I got from costco that cost 20 not $300 for reading books, and who reads paper books anymore anyway with Kinder and Audible.. Also the sign on the wall says glasses 169 with lenses and coating which is what I asked for. Instead I will be getting a pair of frames and lenses with NO coating for $300.95. I do not recommend getting glasses here. this is a low income neighborhood. These people look like they are just after money. The other girl Allison stopped helping us so she could serve someone else with insurance who was looking at more expensive glasses. I called again today to ask to stop the order and they said it was already sent- I'm almost positive orders get sent in bulk once a week. The girl on the phone Barbara wouldn't give me the phone number so I could call the company to cancel. I just paid for a pair of reading glasses. I am going to call VISA and see if they will stop payment on this order. I also asked since I do have two pairs of designer frames one Marc Jacobs and one Alfred Sung if I could just give in those and have the lenses replaced, the frames are in great condition. Sean gave me a hard time about that but Dr. Chen said it would be no problem. AGAIN this is a low income neighborhood, and I don't have insurance, I don't think this company is here to help people at all, the reviews I have read are terrible- taking people's money and not providing the service . I will never go to a FYI clinic again and will recommend everyone that asks not to go either. I wasn't even given a copy of my script for the option of going elsewhere. It cost me $165 for the exam which previously cost $80.00 and now if I want a new script to see someone else I am going to have to go back to a different Dr.

Presented my work benefits care but was pretty much yelled at to fill out the info on the onto their form. I was told, :I expect to be paid for my service" After the assessment Ik was ask for my card even after being scolled for initially offering it. WTF. Not sure why, but I subsequently attempted to book an appointment with the eye doctor. The staff was disrespectful and dismissive. I think they thought I was a welfare case and thus spoke to me in this manner. The eventually hung up the phone on me a few times suggestion they could not hear me. I normally do not write negative reviews, but these guys suck.

I want to leave a very considerate review for Dr Ly. I was under her care in 2023 and 2024. I…read morebelieved she had sufficient training and knowledge to help answer my questions. Because she recommended to me the computer glasses, I thought that would be a nice thing to help as I can read anything without glasses but I am light sensitive. I came to find out about 8 months later the company wasn't paid adequately and she skirted around the responsibility. She had to have known the company does not make glasses on the right angle and curve! I spent months struggling to notice things on my screen as a student. I just wasn't able to get the glare corrected after three trips to the computer store believing somehow it was a setting issue on my chromebook! Dr Ly I highly recommend you stop putting thr business over your patient quality of delivering care. I had no way to know the problem because by the time I considered what could be wrong, she had left her practice to float around in Summer of 2024. If you know the entire glasses are not meant to help someone after they wear them for 5 years, why don't you tell them the nature of transitions may not be enough for the patient? I could have just gotten a new pair but you glossed over all of it . It made me think you believed my needs should wait on you. Why? Because of your business skills? Now I got a test and even after my medical condition progressed my vision was very good and my new OD tells me to try eye drops not some exaggerated story about how my glasses aren't enough for my need for a pair of computer glasses. So the bottom line is not only did I have a struggle and I wasn't finding where she went to just find help, she badly needs a new outlook on near sighted students. We may have a small stigmatized but that's not the problem! The problem is knowing to tell the person the glasses are made wrong to start with! I lost 8 months of my time struggling for no good reason. Is that how you'd treat your counterparts who are healthy women? Really?
