I love that this place is dog friendly and they allow dogs both for indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are all very friendly. Plenty of seating. Very fun and chill vibes. Self seating. You order at the front counter and they will bring out your food. Also very good food. My fiancé and I had the jalapeño cheese curds to start and for entrees I had the hot chicken sandwich and my fiancé had the fiesta melt. The chicken sandwich was good but beware, it definitely has a kick to it. My fiancé really enjoyed his fiesta melt. Overall we really enjoyed our time here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with our fur babies and we will be back.

I'm not crying, you're crying. On a trip to Lake Charles, we stopped by Crying Eagle Brewing for some brews in the afternoon. And we were lucky to find out that we were there during their happy hour where they have discounts on beers and beertails (beer + cocktail mix). They have a large parking lot so parking won't be an issue. And it's a spacious brewery too with two floors. After checking out the menu, I started with one of their beertails. It's not often that I have a cocktail that has some beer so couldn't say no to that. It delivered. From there, to get a good variety, I did a flight. Always my go-to at breweries so you can try a good number of their beers. Followed by a full-size beer after that to complete the trifecta. While they had food, that looked good, we stuck to drinks. Plus, free WiFi. I would return. My only complaint? They charge for samples . . . it's a brewery. Come on!

Come for the food and nice location and friendly staff. However the craft beer is just not great. This is an honest assessment from someone who enjoys craft beer. The beer is not a drain pour, but not a beer destination by any means. Possibly the best brewery in Lake Charles but there isn't much competition . The pretzel bites, salads and pizza were definitely worth enjoying. I would try a sandwich next time.

This is a surprisingly great brewery in Lake Charles. They have excellent selection of lights, darks and IPAs. Location and parking is great and the vibes are great. Highly recommend bringing a group just to even chill and have a few drinks. The do have a restaurant there too but didn't try any of the food.

Ahhh I just love this place. I love the chill but busy environment. I love the service. And I love the food. Especially the pretzel bites and pepp pizza! Everything tastes really fresh and the vibe is welcoming, Franny is one of the owners and we became fast friends. I bought a cookie, and I saw her working, mixing mozzarella in the back. She stopped and asked if I wanted it to be warmed. She stopped what she was doing to help me. The service is on point! It was very nice to meet you both today. And the Christmas decorations are an added bonus 12/22/2022

Great Brewery! Stopped in on a Thursday night in the middle of trivia and sat at the back bar. They have a bar area and a bistro area where you can order food. Pictured is the butcherbox pizza and it was delicious! Bartenders were nice and welcoming. Definitely will be back and hopefully I can do a tour. Cheers! read more

Really good brews Food was good but all 3 of our dishes came out at different times. We went for brunch. The menu says they have shrimp and grits but they did not. Louisiana beer has been abita for the 3 years I have lived here, which is pretty sad. Now you have Crying Eagle which does an amazing job, seriously an incredible job and is located in southern central Louisiana. I look forward to coming here when I travel to LC. They don't have a huge 20 draft beer menu but the 10 or so beers that are on draft are almost always worth a try even if you know what you're probably getting. I love their Blonde. It's so easy to drink and really is a great blonde. I have been twice now and haven't had a food truck but I haven't really been during food hours so I think that's more on me. If you're hungry just call ahead and like others have said, you can order and eat it here. read more

Always great food and atmosphere. This place is a must stop every time I go through Lake Charles and they never disappoint. Had a couple flights of beer and still couldn't drink all they had. Started with the deviled eggs with bacon jam. Wow. Followed that up with the pork and shrimp tacos. Couldn't decide which one was better. Great pizzas! Sometimes they can cook a little soft but still worth ordering and just using utensils to eat. The Where's The Fig is one my favorites. Appetizer sausage wasn't my fave as it was pretty basic flavor. Great place for brunch though! read more

I stopped by on my way to the airport. I really enjoyed this place. I order my food and the service was great - everyone was helpful and friendly. I got boudin and oysters-both if which were delicious. I ordered a flight so I was able to try a few different beers. There's plenty of seating and tables inside the taproom as well as outside. There's also a large leather sofa that I was able to relax in. I definitely appreciated that. If I'm ever in Lake Charles again I will be going back for sure! It's less than 10 minutes away from the airport, so it's a great place to stop on your way in or out. read more

The best place to go in Lake Charles for craft beer (quality & selection), delicious food, friendly staff, live music, abundant seating, & convenient parking! :-) I live about 40 miles east of the brewery, but whenever I'm in Lake Charles, I always try to stop here. Moreover, as a retired U.S. Army veteran, I really appreciate the 20% discount that the brewery offers to military personnel & veterans! read more

A lot of people rave about the oysters so I went just to order them because I love oysters. However, I didn't care for theirs at all. Every single one had grit that I had to spit out. My husband ordered the bbq pulled pork pizza but they messed it up and put chicken instead which was no big deal. The bbq chicken pizza was not bad. My husband also said their draft beer was good. I can't recall which one he got. I would go back here for the cool atmosphere and events they host but I won't be tempted by their food. read more

LOVE crying eagle! Not only is the beer selection great but the food is wonderful! I got the BBQ pizza and my Fiancé got the sweet heat pizza. Both delicious and well portioned pizzas. I've lived around the country and ended up here in Lake Charles when my wife got a position at McNeese. I've had all kinds of true microbrews from living in such progressive college cities such as Lexington, KY and in the research triangle in North Carolina. I drink just about anything beer-wise except Bud, Miller, etc. Moving here left us without a good local beer option. But the beer here is fantastic and worth every penny. Being from a more northern area, I drank a lot more porter than people seem to drink down here in the South and I can say that the porter here is 5-star! This is what we've been missing in Lake Charles. The building is great and the surroundings are perfect. If you want to sit outside, you'll be fully surrounded by fully grown trees. I would've given it 5 stars except for two words: beer tokens. You can't just come and relax and open a tab. They have the awkward token system. Early afternoon clientele seems to be half the +50 crowd and half the 'graduated within the last ten years crowd.' Insecure lifted truck owners are at a minimum. read more

Great brewery. I will start off by saying I'm from Houston, Texas where we have MANY great craft breweries so my expectations were low for Crying Eagle. I've come to know LA beer as the sewer water that Abita offers, but rest assured, Crying Eagle has way more to offer. They have a beer for every palate and prices are reasonable ($5 per beer or $12 for 3). Check them out. read more

I have been on guided trips all over the country in many different size boats and types of fishing. Troy's communication ahead of time was great, and we had several phone calls to line up all the details. As luck would have it, high winds rolled in for the days we had booked. Troy's new boat is a beast and he was able to put us on the meat 2 days in a row, despite the weather being less than cooperative. Troy is Highly knowledgeable and we had a blast even aside from near constant fish action. We will be booking again.

Everything was so flavorful and worth every penny. The kitchen staff knows what they're doing, and they are killing the game. We started off with the pork belly bites and the shrimp toast for appetizers. That spicy aioli mixed with the chili glaze on the pork belly was top tier! The shrimp toast was perfectly crispy and delicious. The entrees were just as much of a slam dunk as the appetizers. I had the beer braised beef short rib with the mashed potatoes. Talk about melt in your mouth. The short rib was so tender that I was able to pull every single bite off the bone with my fork using very little effort. It was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH TENDER! My husband had the Tasso brined double cut pork chop with collard greens. The Demi-glace was absolutely delicious and the greens were well seasoned. My father-in-law had the wedge salad that he asked to spruce up with a few extra dressings, and they had no qualms meeting his requests. We were too stuffed to try dessert, but we will absolutely be back to try it another time. The pricing was very fair for the quality of food and atmosphere. All of the staff were super kind. You can definitely tell they enjoy their job and take pride in what they do. We can't recommend the lakefront location enough. It's definitely going to become a top favorite that we'll continue to frequent.

Where brewery meets boujie…read more I had been to Crying Eagle years ago, but at the other location, the actual brewery. When we arrived, they took our names and we waited about 15 mins for a table. It was weird because there were plenty of tables and the wait staff was all standing in a row as if they were waiting for people. Anyway, we were seated upstairs on the patio overlooking the lake. There were category 3 hurricane winds (not really but seemed like it) so we had to hold on to our menus. I wasn't hungry so I just got some onion rings and a couple of beers, no flights available at Chateau de Crying Eagle. The beers were solid and the onion rings along with the ranch dipping sauce were really good. This place is a restaurant that serves Crying Eagle beer not a brewery. The menu is much more upscale with things like beef tartar, redfish on the half shell and tasso brined double cut pork chops. All of those things sound great, but I was dressed more for the old location vibe. I'd come back but only if I was wanting something more upscale.

This place belongs in Napa. Very nice inside!!!! The new Louisiana Lager may be the best Lager in the country. Their tap room has some seriously good beer Watch for big things out of this brewery. Thumbs up!! read more
